I didnt realize there were two POTC attractions at MK........

Yeah I don't have the best grammar and I missed a comma somewhere in there.

It should be something like:
Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean will alternate, with Pirates running Tuesday-Friday and Splash running Sat-Mon:hammer:

May be true, but you can't deny that current marketing has built that up as an expectation. Ever see a commercial with the castle at night and there isn't fireworks going off? Soarin' anyone?

Just think of how much a ticket has gone up since before that time. With the price increases keeping at least 1 park with an every night firework show is probably a necessity. Its a great way to top off a magical day in The World!

, Garden Grill losing characters,

I obviously missed something. When are they losing the character dining? We are taking my DS to garden grill on Sept. 14th for his Birthday. They didn't say anything about that when I made the reservation.

They arnt losing their characters completely. They just are not going to be offered at lunch. Liberty Tree Tavern on the other hand, is losing its characters. As you can see by my signature that doesn't sit well with me.

as far as parades go.. why don't they just have little shows throughout the parks.. vs... having one hugs show with lots of floats... what would Walt have done???

Nor with me. This is a huge mistake.

You know, for the first time in awhile I am getting nervous about the changes at WDW Character meals going away (I really can't understand it because they have to make money), Fantasmic, Pleasure Island. It feels like it's too many changes at once. Is there still an amazing experience in the parks? Sure....no question. It's just that it feels like some of the most traditional experiences are getting the axe. I figure that projected bookings must be way down..........because you can't explain this stuff any other way. And then they announce a huge price increase at the same time.

Now due to a new job, I won't be taking my usual trip. So I won't get to see TSM for at least another year. So I can sit on the sidelines and listen to the changes. But wow. It feels like the late nineties/early 2000. That's the last time I remember feeling like this.

In way, i think Disney is kinda going retro.
If so, this is a good thing.
So far...SO FAR, i have agreed 100% with the changes.
The character meals are nice but when Disney first opened it was a HUGE thing for a character meal. There just wasnt as many. Not sure how i feel about that one.
Overall though, Man Disney is looking good, in a nice ole fashoned way...

I think those with lower color codes are more worried than those with higher codes. More and more M&Gs are being linked to shows/parades, so I think those who aren't trained/trainable are the ones who are in danger. .......I think that the hiring standard might start to go up. ........if there are less spots to fill, they can be pickier about who they hire.

Out of curiosity- is that odyssey center building being used for much lately? I know there's a few things in there, but could they be moved to other locations? To me, if you're going to do a princess breakfast in Epcot, it seems more logical to do it in a neutral location....

Interesting perspective on the color code thing. We might want to let a few blues know that so they can get their act together.

The odyssey is used twice weekly for Grand Gatherings. It is used extensively for the Food and Wine Festival. And like World Showplace is used a lot for private events that people never hear about.

Want to hear a bunch of grousing? Listen to the Pooh characters or Alice or Mary Poppins at the UK when there is an event happening at World Showplace that involves busses. And it happens a LOT!

I agree. I don't know why everyone is so bent out of shape about Liberty Tree not having characters. We ate there a few years ago before the characters invaded and had a really good diner. Then the characters came, the menu got dumbed down, and we haven't been back.

PI had turned into a mess. Too many locals, not enough Disney magic (except AC which is a sore spot, I still think it could still exist, shoot, add a restaurant to it and have it function as the waiting area/lounge.)

Fantasmic will pick up its schedule as guest volume warrants. If the park is packed they will add shows, if not it will remain on a limited schedule. If you're there for more than 2 days you can still schedule your time to go see it.

Overall they are still renovating existing resorts, adding new buildings to resorts, bringing new rides online, and kicking out good new movies.

I can't wait to try the new PotC rooms at the CBR, I see they are available for 2009 bookings, :)

I really really agree with you about P.I.
A.C. was the ONLY nice thing about it.
The rest was getting to be "ghetto" ish and only a local hangout. (just ask the local police how P.i. has became.
Disney did a GREAT think by pulling the plug on it.
The A.C. would be nice to keep though.
