It Was a Grand Fantasyland Opening Indeed!

What – The Fantasyland Grand Opening!

When – December 5-7, 2012

Who – Jenell - @GrumpysWife - and Myself!

Why – Well because we could of course! And also, the agency got an invite to the grand opening festivities and awesome owner Pam sent Jenell and I as representatives. The catch was that only one of us could get in to the official festivities, but hey – I had a newly purchased Annual Pass from my November trip, my camera, and a free room at Beach Club with Jenell. I wasn’t complaining! Here we are:

Wednesday, December 5th –

We were only going for two nights, so we had to make the best of it! We left crazy early on the first day and came back late on the third day! I was meeting Jenell at the Baltimore airport. I usually fly out of Dulles, which is much closer, but this was good for Jenell and we got an awesome rate on Southwest.

My dear hubby drove me all the way out there before going to work that morning. We left the house at 4 am! Yikes! Jenell arrived a few minutes after me and we had an uneventful flight down. We even landed about 40 minutes early! Yay! We were actually on Magical Express at the time we were scheduled to land, which I think was 8:45 if I remember correctly.

We both caught up on some work on the way to the Beach Club.

Friday, December 6th-

Our real plans today were to meet @Mukta for lunch and catch the DME bus home. Last time Jenell and I were together at Disney we missed our DME bus!! Oops. The other plan was lunch with Mukta and Amber at Via Napoli! Yay!

We decided to run over to DHS that morning. It was a dreary morning, but as we all know a dreary morning at Disney is better than a sunny morning back home.

We walked to Toy Story first!

Breakfast was at my favorite breakfast place - Starring Rolls! I took about 20 pictures of this little beauty:

We visited a galaxy far far away next and stopped for a quick picture in the store on the way out. Whoever thought of Build Your Own Droid? Genius! I really love the packaging you get too.

That took a little longer than we thought and we were late for lunch! So we hightailed it down to the boat. We had a lunch date with Mukta and Amber! They had just checked into the Beach Club this morning. I had dinner with Mukta at Disneyland in August, so we have now dined together on both coasts. A habit I definitely think we should continue.

Of course I completely failed at taking a picture of the 4 of us. Sadly, I only took a picture of the pizza.

After a lovely lunch with friends, we said goodbye and were off to the Magic Kingdom. Hey, this was a three park in one day kind of day!

We shopped a little. I love love these ornaments, but they are so expensive! When I buy an ornament, I buy at least 8 to make it a themed tree with matching ornaments. There’s no way I could do it with these.

After shopping we walked over to Space Mountain. It was a crowded day!

Then Jenell got a Dole Whip and I got a Mickey bar! I wanted pictures of the Dole Whip, but it melted too fast!

So we spent some time trying to get the perfect ice cream sandwich picture! Got it!

Well, almost. Later I realized I should have taken a bit out of the ear first! Next time.

We noticed on the way out of the park that Mickey had no wait! And the perfect way to close my trip report. Voila! The ultimate toe picture:

Then we went back to Beach Club. This time we did not miss the bus!

It was a quick trip, but it sure was fun. I have to say, Beach Club is quickly becoming my favorite resort. It’s always been in the top 3, but it may be the top one soon. The Fantasyland festivities were great. I can’t wait for the coaster to open!

And I really love the Ursula expensive ornament. Maybe Mom will buy it for me when we go in March. My tree used to be just Mickey then my mom got me an Ursula ornament...I couldn't not put her on there. So now it's just Disney ornaments. The more Ursula the better I always say...

I have this reef diffuser downstairs that I got from Pier 1 and it smells like Oreo Bon Bons. It's pure torture. I had it on my end table next to my favorite sitting spot but had to move it to the bookshelf across the room because it was making me want what I can't have!

The Mickey toe picture is AMAZING! LOVE it! The Epcot resorts are definitely some of my favorite resorts! It is so hard to beat that location! And I love all of their themes. Thanks for sharing your trip report!
