It Was a Grand Fantasyland Opening Indeed!

What – The Fantasyland Grand Opening!

When – December 5-7, 2012

Who – Jenell - @GrumpysWife - and Myself!

Why – Well because we could of course! And also, the agency got an invite to the grand opening festivities and awesome owner Pam sent Jenell and I as representatives. The catch was that only one of us could get in to the official festivities, but hey – I had a newly purchased Annual Pass from my November trip, my camera, and a free room at Beach Club with Jenell. I wasn’t complaining! :) Here we are:

Wednesday, December 5th –

We were only going for two nights, so we had to make the best of it! We left crazy early on the first day and came back late on the third day! I was meeting Jenell at the Baltimore airport. I usually fly out of Dulles, which is much closer, but this was good for Jenell and we got an awesome rate on Southwest.

My dear hubby drove me all the way out there before going to work that morning. We left the house at 4 am! Yikes! Jenell arrived a few minutes after me and we had an uneventful flight down. We even landed about 40 minutes early! Yay! We were actually on Magical Express at the time we were scheduled to land, which I think was 8:45 if I remember correctly.

We both caught up on some work on the way to the Beach Club.

After my tour though Fantasyland, I was on a mission for a waffle sandwich! I wasn’t the only one of course. They are super popular.

Now before I show you this picture, I must warn you. I could NOT get a good angle where the grease wasn’t showing. I even tried to soak it off with a napkin. No luck. So here it is!

FantasylandB296.jpg

:D

I have no idea if that much grease is standard. Your mileage may vary.

I’m not a coleslaw fan so I took that off and took an instagram picture for the hubs:

My verdict? It was good! Not amazing, but good. I think it was a little too sweet for me. The batter on the chicken was very sweet, so that with the sweet waffle was a little much. Now, coleslaw may very well have helped that, so my review is not representative of anybody but me!

My lunch view was not bad:

After I ate, I started walking out. I did stop to get some phone cases first! Lots of cute ones!

Fantasyland T-shirts:

Here were the two that I got for Jenell and I. They were limited editions of 300:

While I was in Magic Kingdom, Jenell had a meeting about what’s new at Disney! The Dapper Dans were there singing Boy Band songs! Not that that’s going to be new at Disney, they were just entertainment.

After she finished, we met back in the room and were off to Epcot for the evening! Next up, Rose and Crown and the Candlelight Processional!!

Jenell had an activity in Epcot tonight, but we had the afternoon free.

We needed a little something to eat to tide us over, so we split some popcorn. I was tempted by this adorable bucket, but that price is ridiculous.

So we went for ordinary box.

Popcorn meme!

We had some extra time, so we decided it was time to see some characters!

After shopping in MouseGear for a little while, Jenell and I split up. I was off to Candlelight Processional and she was going to the big Test Track event.

She texted me some pictures for Instagram, and here is the most exciting one:

One Republic!

So cool!

Waiting for the Processional to start:

The narrator tonight was Blair Underwood. I had a good seat but not a big lens. Mr. Underwood was completely awesome. He was jamming during some of the songs.

After an excellent, truly moving show, I went to go find the reserved viewing for Illuminations! I was amazed at how many empty spots I passed on the way there. Especially considering how busy the parks were!

I didn’t attempt to take any pictures, but I took one with my phone for Instagram:

After it was done I met Jenell and we went back to the room. We had a swan waiting for us!

FantasylandB453.jpg

Jenell wanted to go to the lobby and take some pictures. I was glad. I need someone to spur me back out of the room at night. It's hard to not just collapse on the bed. :)

I didn’t get out the tripod, but I did take a lot!

Catching up again. It has been a wild month so far.

I love all your awesome pics of the FLE. At least I'm finally getting to see more of it than just masses of people and the mermaid attraction. There was just soooooo many people when we were there. Everything was long waits. There was no way to really see much at all. And there was no way we were getting anywhere near Be Our Guest. So, thanks a bazillion for all your awesome pics. ;)

I have a boxed pin set that pieces together into this stained glass design. It's so cool! More of my fun stuff that still lives in boxes/storage. LOL!

What? You had a busy month? Were you doing something? :D

FL does seem to have a lot of people. All the time! I don't think that will change for a while.

That would be a pretty pin set! You need to get that out! Haha!

So love all the Beach Club pics! Lovin' it all!

Thanks, Kelly! :)
