Hollywood Studios entertainment overhaul

As with many others, I like both of these shows (particularly VotLM, which has some great effects -- not cutting edge, but they work really well). But I also agree with those who say shows need to change more often than rides, and the time for these shows has come, particularly BatB.

I wonder if they'll enclose the BatB theater, as they did the FotLK and Nemo theaters -- I hope so. A Tangled show could be good, particularly with some good effects for the launching of the floating lanterns.

At this point, Animagique looks like a logical replacement. We know the cloning is "in" due to budget issues, and while a lot of us around here go to DLP and WDW, the overlap isn't all that large so it would be brand new to the vast majority visitors. It uses some blacklight effects, as does VotLM, so the theater seems to already be conducive to the show. The company just lent DLP a bunch of money to take out the bank debt, which I'm sure will make the transfer of intellectual property easy (if it wasn't already). And the show is a hit. That being said, the theater is Paris is much larger than the VotLM theater, and the show is longer than VotLM. That might cause some problems without a substantial rework (i.e., shortening) of the show, but that rework might hurt the quality as well.

If these two shows change out, the BAH goes, Carsland comes, and the MI coaster arrives, this park will look all fresh and sparkly, even without the greatly needed updates to the Great Movie Ride and IJESS and doing something with the theater formerly known as the Monster Sound Show.

Everyone here is talking about wanting to have proper theming and everything in areas that they fit in, but how does Tangled fit in Sunset Boulevard? Granted, B&TB does not really fit there either (unless you say both are musicals and link in that way). Tangled could fit in Animation Courtyard, and something like Cinemagique could fit on Sunset Boulevard (although would it be too similar to GMR?) - I can't really think of many things that would fit on Sunset Boulevard.

Where does One Man's Dream kick you out after the movie? The area on the map that says "Animation" looks to be behind the restrooms that are between the Magic of Disney Animation and Voyage of the Little Mermaid

I have no idea, it's been over a year since I was last at DHS so I can't remember where everything is exactly.

I think The Princess and the Frog would fit perfectly as a replacement for VotLM because of its music and the special effects that they could do! (especially with Dr. Faciliers "friends on the other side song") Plus this movie isn't represented (excluding M&G) anywhere in the world.
That might fit...and you're right it's under-represented. However, due to its box office performance, I wouldn't place a large bet on this coming true.

That is a great fit actually.
Cinemagique is by far the best attraction in WDS (well, now there's Crush's Coaster as well). I would love to see it in DHS.
Animagique on the other hand I feel is pretty weak.

Didn't they spend a bunch to enclose the old Hunchback Theater? Any chance something goes in there?

And I'd like to echo @flynnibus ... please don't clone a show from DCL. I have no frame of reference here but I have to imagine in the grand scheme of things a stage show is not a costly investment compared to other options ... just do something new ... for the record I'd be really good with Tangled or maybe dig deeper and think a little out of the box and I think Pinocchio would make a good stage show.

I agree with the cloning. But I wouldn't mind Aladdin from DCA.
That might be too much. DCA already has Aladdin, plus there was a regional version in Seattle that might transfer to Broadway. I know BATB was on Broadway when it was in WDW as well, but Aladdin would already be in a US park and in a US theatre...no need for it to be in another park.

Believe me, the Seattle show is not going to Broadway.

Maybe the Lion King will be pulled in.. who knows.. Disney has plenty of stage things to pick from even if they don't make a new show.
