Hollywood Studios entertainment overhaul

I hope they don't cheap out and go 'Golden Mickeys' - not only did I not like the show, it further cheapens the DCL investment in entertainment.

I would have to think it will be hard for them to ignore Toy Story unfortunately... (for the same reasons)

That might actually work...and if it weren't for One Man's Dream next door (which I am NOT AT ALL saying they should get rid of) they could add the Toy Story show to a Pixar Place expansion.

I love shows, but I'd really hate to see Beauty and the Beast leave the most. That music and that film are classic and I don't see the harm in keeping it. Sure it could definitely use and upgrade but the show still plays to packed houses. If they want to put in a new Tangled show, why not put in the enclosed Premiere Theatre. That way it would be an actual addition to park rather than just a replacement.

unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if there were a contract duration involved with that.

^This. I would imagine AI will go the way of the DoDo as soon as whatever contract is in in place expires.

Perhaps this is why there hasn't been any money spent to replace Sounds Dangerous. That will be a large building to re-purpose once AI goes. Hopefully, a new dark ride will come in their place.

Wouldn't suprise me that they make this announcement as the same day we find out the show going into Disneyland's Fantasyland Theater. Tangled show on both coasts would seem a typical move.

There was a rumor a while ago that a ride would be replacing Little Mermaid, I know the building is small, but are you sure it's going to be a show?

Couldn't the are be combined with the rumored upcoming Pirates walkthrough? Heck, move One Man's Dream to the Animation Building and you'd have a pretty decent size space.

Playhouse Disney desperately needs an update too. The basic puppet show idea is fine, but besides replacing a sequence or two, it's been the same show for years.

The building itself needs a serious makeover and it'd be nice of they'd bring some new tech into the show. Talk about stale...

It has been changed a few times to be more current with the Disney channel lineup.

While I do enjoy both shows, I have seen them at least 3-4 times and I wouldn't mind seeing something new. In fact, I feel the same way about a lot of the attractions at DHS (LMA, Indiana Jones). They are all great but once you've seen them a few times, there isn't all that much incentive to see them again. I'm not sure why I don't get the same feeling when it comes to rides.

Maybe it's because, short of Ellen's Energy Adventure, rides don't tend to last 30-45 minutes?

Because a physical experience is so much more involved, and often more enjoyable than a purely visual one.

Let's face it... is sex better to watch or participate? Kind of the same thing :)

If they wanted, couldn't they build an entrance between TSMM and Jack Sparrow, have a queue go around the Jack Sparrow/OMD buildings and then it would end up at VOTLM?

Would be a lot of extra work, but it could be possible to have the theater as part of Pixar Place

I love both shows. I would prefer BatB to relocate to Fantasyland and replace Enchanted Tales with Belle :p A new Tangled seems pretty cool. I will be sad to see the VotLM go but the new ride tells the same story (even though it makes Ursula appear to be a 'hero' rather than villain) so makes it kinda redundant but can't picture what would go there instead.

Would love for the Indiana Jones show to be replaced by the Disneyland ride and see LMA replaced by RSR and a complete overhaul refurbishment of The Great Movie Ride and Backlot Tour to bring them up to date. And with all these, a movie production theme should be added to make the park's name and theme relevant.

They could move Playhouse Disney into an enlarged Mermaid theater and demo that building to make a pathway to Sunset Boulevard.

The One Man's Dream, Narnia/Sparrow, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid buildings all appear to be connected:

Yeah, I was looking at that map while i was writing my post!

You wouldn't be able to get the queue to join the current queue, but what area of VOTLM is the label "Animation" written on? Could they have an entrance there and then have the current entrance become an exit?

I have no idea if it would work, but it was just something to think about

Hollywood Studios will be receiving a major overhaul of several long running shows.

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage will be closing in the near future to be replaced with the rumored "Tangled" show.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid will also be closing to be replaced with a new show.

thank goodness and thank goodness.

Where does One Man's Dream kick you out after the movie? The area on the map that says "Animation" looks to be behind the restrooms that are between the Magic of Disney Animation and Voyage of the Little Mermaid
