Hollywood Studios entertainment overhaul

Agree 100%, especially regarding how cool a Friends on the other side with blacklights would be.

Also, regarding my previous post and PatF music... it is telling to me that almost 2 years after its release, "Dig a Little Deeper" is still pretty heavily played on the Sirius/XMs KidsPlace Live station, but Tangled's "I have a Dream" really isn't. And I remember they played that song like 2x an hour when Tangled first came out.

Now, I know it's satellite radio, so they have more leeway with their playlists than do broadcast stations, but they still tend to play what kids want to hear. So to me at least, that says PatF is pretty popular.

See, you can tell that I have a 3 year old at home! :)

I'm not entirely sure about that. I'd say PatF is fairly well liked but Tangled is far far more popular, based on money the two movies made and how much merchandise is moved. You don't exactly see Disney pushing PatF the way they are Tangled. By that extension, the songs in Tangled are most likely more well known by children. That being said, it doesn't surprise me Dig a Little Deeper is more played. The song has a great message for kids and is...I guess a bit more catchy? Not sure how to phrase that. But with the background chorus, it's a "louder, poppier" song that I have a Dream.

I'd be pleased to see a PatF show though. Would be fun and would like to see it's presence in the park...even if I do loathe most of Randy Newman's songs as a general principle.

I love both the old shows (BatB is my fav Disney movie) but they are old, and have definitely demonstrated their age, especially BatB. The costumes and set just look worn down to me.

Because a physical experience is so much more involved, and often more enjoyable than a purely visual one.

Let's face it... is sex better to watch or participate? Kind of the same thing :)
That's not the way I feel with Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure at Halloween Horror Nights. I'd almost rather see that show than do the houses some nights. I get yyou're point as a show can get repetitive, but if it's good enough, it can draw people back.

pretty much :) but even a great show, like Aladdin, will have repeat-ability issues for many people. The more physical the show is, the more you can bring people back IMO. F! has fireworks, moving stages, effects, huge figures, etc. Compared to a stage show were people just sing and have costume changes...

Totally agree! Please, Please TDO put American Idol to rest. If I wanted to go see bad karaoke I would go to my local bar. Just like the TV show, the American Idol Experence's time has come and gone.

I dont see Idol leaving anytime soon..the new judges i predict will have a big impact on the ratings!

I don't get the love for Tangled. I thought it came off as imitation Dreamworks, with a horse taking the place of a donkey. Plus it had weak songs and an even weaker villain. It LOOKED nice, but that's the only good thing I can say about it.

Beauty and the Beast is leaving? this is TERRIBLE news! D:

brutally taking a really great show away like they did with Hunchback! also i think Animague should replace VOTLM

I was thinking something similar. Move Philhar to that space, move the princess meet n greet to philhar's space, and put a ride in the old swsa space.

I've always said that they should have moved PhilharMagic to DHS (maybe in a new Toontown?), and put the princesses in the old PhilharMagic building, either keeping SWSA, or by reusing it to build a different dark ride!

As with many others, I like both of these shows (particularly VotLM, which has some great effects -- not cutting edge, but they work really well). But I also agree with those who say shows need to change more often than rides, and the time for these shows has come, particularly BatB.

I wonder if they'll enclose the BatB theater, as they did the FotLK and Nemo theaters -- I hope so. A Tangled show could be good, particularly with some good effects for the launching of the floating lanterns.

I was already on board with both of these shows changing, as soon as I read Drew's post. However this statement makes me oh-so-giddy! I absolutely would love if they had an amazing scene of the lanterns!

I liked it but it's not my favorite. Though for me personally, I thought it was a giant step above shrek. I think people liked that it was Disney doing what Disney does best with that traditional fairy tale. PatF wasn't exactly that with its setting in new Orleans (I know I know, beauty an the beast was set in france ext but it had much more of the traditional fairy tale with the castle). Even right down to the sidekicks...a chameleon and a horse are a lot cuter than an alligator and a semi toothless firefly. Just my take.

The songs could have been stronger, I will agree on that. I think some of that might have to do with the singers they got. I like Mandy moore but she isn't exactly a broadway star unlike the woman who voiced the mother, and that showed.

Regarding PatF, I thought it was very well done. I'm just not a big fan of randy Newman. Most of his songs sound the same to me. But in PatF, there was some variety so I enjoyed it more than I expected.

They could move Playhouse Disney into an enlarged Mermaid theater and demo that building to make a pathway to Sunset Boulevard.

The One Man's Dream, Narnia/Sparrow, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid buildings all appear to be connected:

Can't do the first unless you want to also take out the main kitchen for the park, including Brown Derby and the Cast cafeteria (the semi-circle end of that complex). Of course, if you mean just tearing down the theater front and moving a guest path between the Animation building and Cast cafeteria to come out in the Sunset Ranch Market seating area...still can't do that because that backstage area also functions as the receiving/unloading area for the main kitchen and Sunset Ranch Market. Stand over there in the morning right after opening and you may be able to hear all of the trucks backing in and out if you're in the right spot.

As for the show changes, bring them on! Can't say I'm a huge fan of either show, and I absolutely love the movies (more so Beauty and the Beast). I've always found the shows to be not that good, and BatB just does nothing for me.

If they were smart, seeing as how the Disney jr show is next door to maybe have a Mickey Mouse clubhouse show or even a small dark ride themed to the clubhouse. They need more kid friendly rides there! But I will admit I would rather see them remove American idol and monsters and see a ride go there instead.

Thankfully you are in the minority. It was the best Disney Animated Feature since Lion King that is a fact, and it was in no way shape or form a Dream Works Imitation did you even watch the movie? You may think it stunk but the great reviews, BIG Box office, Merch sales, and High popularity say otherwise Period.
