The thing with Hiro's dad was more character driven than story driven. Hiro left the company in Japan he was working for, effectively without authorization to be away for as long as he has been. Since it turns out that his dad is the one in charge of the company, this has brought dishonor to the family and put his position at risk, since Hiro was thought to be the heir to the company throne. As was stated by Hiro's sister, the shareholders were questioning how he could still be in contorl of their company if he can't control his own son. This is a very serious matter and one that required swift and decisive action on the part of Hiro's dad. So, he did what he felt was the right thing and tried to force Hiro to return. Hiro had no interest or motivation in running the company, he knows his destiny lies along a different path. So he showed his father who the real heir to the company should be by forcing his sister to speak up and give her thoughts on the direction the company should take. Once the matter seemed resolved on who would be next in line, Hiro's dad knew that Hiro would not have to return to Japan and that Hiro's sister would be the one to make his second in command. Hiro will now be free to move about as he needs to without having to worry about how it will affect things back in Japan. And since Ando works with him at the company, he's now taken care of as well in that respect. Remember, most of our heroes either are unemployed, or have jobs that allow them to go where they need to at any time. Even our police officer friend has been suspended and so doesn't have anywhere he really "needs" to be. For character development and character storyline, this was a necessary scene, but it didn't need to last too long, which is why it pretty much started at the end of one episode and finished up in the following episode. Now that there is nothing to hold him back from continuing on his mission. It also explains how he has all this money to keep on travelling when he's been out of work for so long(in case anyone had been wondering).

Admit it, though, you like the fact that they had Sulu play the dad of a character who is a major Star Trek fan... and the fact that the tag on his limo was a New York tag reading NCC 1701... :sohappy:

Actually, I did say that it was pretty cool when I saw Sulu for the first time (about him being his dad)...but I didn't even catch the tag!

They've had a ton of Easter Eggs if you know what you're looking for. Claude the Invisible Man is a nod to Claude Rains who played title character of The Invisible Man(1933). Also, Christopher Eccleston who plays Claude, previously played The Doctor from Doctor Who. His catchphrase on Doctor Who had been "Fantastic!" Claude says this during the first full episode he appears in. Also, Hiro when he goes back in time to try to save his waitress friend and finds that he has traveled too far back says "Great Scott" just like Doc Brown from Back to the Future. Just to name a few.

He also starred in Gone in 60 Seconds and also said "Fantastic!"

I did catch the "Great Scott!" by Hiro.

I read a spoiler that says we aren't finished w/ the Hiro's dad storyline, and that he is connected somehow to all the other heroes.

Then they must have pulled that over to Doctor Who for him. I'm not sure since I hadn't seen any of his stuff from before Doctor Who. I do have Gone in 60 Seconds on DVD, just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Claire's father by adoption or Nathan?

Mr Horn-Rimmed Glasses. There was a comment made to him on the phone about how Peter might be invisible to which he made the response along the lines that "It seems someone from our past may not be as dead as we thought."

FYI, he actually told Peter his full name was Claude Rains (within the first minutes of last episode I believe).

Definitely Hiro(I see a trend, here) and Ando("You don't need to have powers to be a Hero"). I also like Claude quite a bit, but that's partly because I like the actor.

Plus...Ando went in search of Hope and found her

He's my hero because he's just out lookin' to get a little... (He's probably the most believable character  )

The scariest part of last night's episode was that lady listening to rap music.

:lookaroun

I mean, I know you have to drown out the voices somehow, but come ON! :p

 Point taken.

Anybody think those glasses that Mr. Bennett are wearing somehow block out Matt's ability to read his mind?
