It really irks me that Disney limits MYW to 10 days. Oh well, what can I do about it? Oh yeah, goto Sea World, Discovery Cove, US, and IOA. Bummer that I would have to upgrade to an AP or start a whole new MYW. More of my $$$ going elsewhere.
Disney's been selling tickets for years. I think by now they've figured out the best pricing structure to meet the needs of the vast majority.

I've always taken the approach that there is a ticket format to meet virtually every length of stay or number of visits I can imagine doing, all while staying solely at WDW. Staying 14 days? A 10-day MYW with waterparks add-on is perfect. Going for a week? A month? Two trips within a year? Two trips five years apart? There are all sorts of options.

I can't imagine getting "irked" because the precise ticket to match every possible scenario isn't available.

I'm too happy enjoying Disney.

Being "irked" comes from DOUBLING the ticket cost for guests that take longer trips.

Boy, you must overestimate the importance of waterparks for people in November with a handicaped member of the family then. We got the water parks last September (you know, when there actually is risk of a 90 degree day) and went to one for 90 minutes and the other for 2 hours in the same day. Biggest waste of money ever. We would have been better off spending the day on International drive.

Really, packages can be 14 nights long, nut the tix max out at 10 days. You can literally be expected to only go to Disney parks for 2/3 of your trip. The only way around it is to DOUBLE the price of your ticket and AP up or but the 5 day hopper add on, which again nearly DOUBLES the ticket cost. Why Disney would force those guests to go off site those extra five days is beyond me.

I'm with you Jimbo. I would like 12 day passes, but since they are not avaliable we are going to Universal for some of the days.

Last year we went to the water parks, but my daughter rathered the resort pool, I think we will skip. So, we are going to go to Universal.

^^^ We are breaking up our Disney trip for the first time ever and going to universal for a day or two as well... Harry Potter is the main reason for the visit though! :ROFLOL:

We've always split our trips there. This year we're doing 1 day beach, 1 Sea World, 2 Uni and 8 Disney. Last year was pretty much the same but with two more Disney days.

You're entitled to believe you're getting a discount, and in pure dollars I'm certain you believe you are. But you are also getting poorer quality food and service, and a more crowded atmosphere. In addition to all of that, you're contributing to the commoditization of what was once a fairly unique product. And by participating you assist in degrading the experience for all of us.

So hey, thanks. Glad you saved some money. Since it's a decision that's all about helping you, I don't feel partcularly bad expressing my strong preference for what would help me.

I've never gotten to participate in "free dining" but I hope to be able to do so this year. I loved the Dining Plan when I went last year. It seems to me that if you hate the free dining time the best option for you is simply stay away from WDW during late August and September. I know that the promotion was offered last year through early December but that still leaves most of the year that you can enjoy the world without terrible bargain seekers like myself.

I'm sorry that you have to share the park with people like me who 1) love planning ahead 2) love paying beforehand for their meals 3) love paying less for a Disney vacation 4) love a bargain 5) feel personally that the food and service at WDW haven't declined as a result of the Dining Plan but food prices have increased - for my family the Dining Program is the only way to go whether I have to purchase the plan or not 6) HATE BLOODY SNOBS!!!!
I'm sorry that we're degrading your experience. I'm just expressing my strong preference.

WDW's facebook page just announced another/continued summer promotion with a booking window through May 2nd. I'm guessing FD or other Fall discount until at least May 3rd.

Hey I'm the one with breakiing news. Look at me everyone look at me.

That seems to be the same "up to 30% off" discount that's been up. Summertime Savings, I think it's called. Still only through 8/14.

That status was just showing the "new" TV spot... which is just the old Celebrate commercial with info on this discount.

Yeah, I know that but I thought though that the booking window had closed and was now extended to May 2nd. Oh well, so much for having the scoop.

Sorry, I thought you meant it was a new discount
But I'm pretty sure that when it came out originally it was up to 40%, then that expired and 2 days later they released this one which is up to 30%, still only up to 8/14.

Correct. "Up to 40%" discount expired on 3/27. A few days later they announced the "up to 30%" discount. It basically just extended the booking window, and lowered the %.

There are currently no offers (to the general public) that extend past August 14.
