Free dining

No codes or anything. They said we got the 2 meals, 2 snacks, and a drink free and could upgrade for a price (don't remember the upgrade cost per person). We just stuck with the free quick service and it showed up on our confirmation just like it was described. We were planning on going anyway and were not planning on free dining.

can anyone confirm this or has anyone else booked recently and had this happen to them ??

When I booked the counter service free-It was for 5 days and 4 nights and I asked if I could extent the deal for 10 days-and I was allowed. The deal shown was for the least amount of days and can be extended. Hope this helps!

Disney Rewards Visa cardholders can take advantage of an exclusive offer for stays most nights March 14 - August 14, 2010. When you purchase a 4-night/5-day Magic Your Way vacation package that includes room, theme park tickets and the Quick-Service Dining Plan, a child (ages 3-9) can stay, get 5-day theme park tickets and the Quick-Service Dining Plan for FREE!
Note that children ages 3-9 normally stay for free in the same room with their parents, so that is no savings. However, the savings on theme park tickets and the dining plan can be substantial, particularly if you have two adults and two children in the correct age range.
You must book by 4/24/10. The number of packages available at this rate is limited. Child must stay in room with adult. Tickets are for one theme park per day and must be used within 14 days of first use. Maximum of four guests per room.
No group rates or other discounts apply. Offers cannot be combined and are nontransferable. Children ages 3-9 must order from the children's menu where available. Advance reservations required. Deposit must be made at the time of booking with your Disney Rewards Visa credit card or Disney Rewards debit card.

Could management be waiting for the tax season to pass. By offering the promotion after tax season is over, many people may have booked before getting the discount.

Maybe?

I'm trying to help some rookies plan a trip - they are infatuated with Free Dining (and with a family size of 13 I can't blame them). Does anybody know if they usually offer Free Dining packages for the week after Thanksgiving??

You call them rookies, but are asking about the possibility of free dining after Thanksgiving. That makes me giggle.

Mousesavers has a historical discount calender from about the last five years.

Go to mousesavers and type in historical discounts in the search area and it will bring up the last several years of discounts offered and when they were released. As you will see, last year, free dining was offered at that time! You will also notice that there has typically been some sort of promotion running during that time in year prior as well. So, if free dining isn't offered, there is still a good change that some other deal will, which should help a family of that size. Hope this helps!

Apologies for not knowing Mousesavers had a historical calendar section. I go to the site daily, but had never checked out that feature. Thanks. Since my wife and I are teachers and our DD is in school, I am only used to planning for Xmas, summer, and spring break. Early December is new to me. As DVC members and peak season travellers, never had free dining as an option.

Sorry, I was in a huge smart@$$ mood when I typed that. I'll erase it.

I have it on pretty good word that the next promotion will be released/announced somewhere around May 6-9. I cant promise it will be free dining however.

Why would you even say something like this, after the many, many, many false "rumors" about "Free Dining"?

Who is your source and what's the "supposed" deal?

First of all I never said it would be "free dining" - I said it would be the next promotion. And I posted it because I heard it from a reliable source. If I had known what the "supposed deal" was, dont' you think I would have posted it without waiting for you to ask what it is? If I had wanted to tell everyone who the source was in the first place, I would have stated it. You think you posting here asking me to name him will actually make me do so?

I've also heard rumors here and there about this same thing; I'm guessing it probably will be QS not complete free dining. Lets hope SOMETHING comes out! :D
