Epcot dissapointment

Wouldn't anyone that attended Illuminations be equally disappointed and they didn't even get dessert. The spinning globe had nothing to do with the party or the cost of it. The damn globe was supposed to spin with or without dessert.
If I have paid $50 per head for an Illuminations Dessert Party, I would be disappointed if the Globe didn't work. No it would not ruin my trip, no I would not be devastated.
As drizgirl pointed out, dessert parties are not about the dessert so much as they are about having a great view for the show.

True. But to me the globe is the worst part of the show. I wouldn't pay the price to see the globe spin, and the random pics go across, that is for sure. That part is a huge snooze fest, imho.
Then I would guess you wouldn't be purchasing the Illuminations Dessert Party.

Well I am amazed at all the negative posts to my entry, never said I wanted a refund just would have liked to have seen the full show, understand malfunctions happen, come down 2 or 3 times a year and never seen it not work
And it did not ruin my Wonderful food and wine trip
Just ignore them. Your disappointment is justified, if I paid all that money and the show wasn't working as it should then I'd be a little disappointed too. I'm glad to hear you had a great trip.

I didn't see any exaggeration or self-pity in your original post. I thought your disappointment was justified. Glad to hear the rest of your trip was wonderful.

What they are ridiculing, in this case erroneously, is what seems to be the consistent attitude that everything in life absolutely needs to be perfect simply because we paid money for it. Nothing now, tomorrow or in the future is completely controllable by anybody. So mistakenly, people read that post as just one of the many that appear here on a daily basis that is entitled and as unrealistic as the Great Pumpkin. It was attitude, not the person that was being questioned.
But your applying an emotion that the OP never said, suggested or even hinted at. Did the OP say they wanted a refund? Did the OP say they demanded perfection or felt cheated out of their money? Your theory of people feeling like everything needs to be perfect also applies to your very own attitude and desire to correct an apply your personal emotions and feelings to the situation as YOU feel it should be. Your basically self diagnosing.

Look at the OP's avatar. Looks like an older couple. If so, I would venture to guess they were raised in an era which the entitlement and "everything needs to be perfect because Im a snowflake" attitude did not exist. Look at how many posts the OP has made in the few years of being a member. A whopping 15 posts in 3 years. Id say thats pretty conservative for someone who is being labelled as a cry baby, doom and gloomer, etc. And furthermore, read the post. All 20 words of it. Its nothing more than an update. As I mentioned prior, at least it is actual news. There are several threads currently in the news and rumors section of these forums that are neither news or rumor. One is asking why there is no cheese at Cosmic Rays and Another thread is asking what will be the future of Innoventions. Another asking if anybody has seen Bonnie Apetit. The OP here did nothing wrong, said nothing wrong, an did not even criticize WDW. He made the mistake of using the word "dissapointment" in the title. Thats all it took for people to mock him/her. The very same people that are so quick to suggest the ignore feature and would more than likely report the very same posts they are making as "hostile" if it was directed at them. The mods inbox would be lit up like a christmas tree.

Not excusing mean comments, I just think you ended up getting lumped in with all of the people who constantly cry and demand compensation for a reasonable malfunction/occurence.

You didn't say anything of the sort, but people responded with comments and questions like they expected you to cry/complain/demand. That's when us so called "pixie dusters" get hot and bothered lol.

I think most people would have had a level of disappointment.
(This is the sign of a rational person, small disappointment, trip still not ruined, no need to make a mad dash to guest services).

Glad you still had a wonderful time!

It really stinks when you pay extra for something and it's not right. maybe the OP just needed to vent, nothing wrong with that. I wish I could have been there that night because I hate the globe projections, but that is just me, he has the right to be upset and vent, and I personally am sorry he had a crummy experience.

And I can't believe that anyone was sober enough to notice that Illuminations was going on given F+W.
Yeah, tell me about it. Just tonight my husband told me while he was in the bathroom two men and a woman, drunk out of their minds, came in and started talking to each other in there. So my husband tried to find a cast member and there was no one around, and by the time someone did arrive it was too late. Let's just say it's good there were no little children in the bathroom.

That's pretty disgusting. I've been to Epcot at non F&W times and seen the drunks weaving around the World Showcase. I'm surprised that these people aren't cut off.

I know Disney makes a lot of money on the alcohol sales, but is it worth it? Even though this park is geared toward adults, there are still a lot of kids around. What is going to have to happen before this type of behavior isn't tolerated?

I know there were several drunk driving incidents associated with Pleasure Island. Is that also what will have to happen at Epcot?
