Epcot dissapointment

Other side facing the lagoon.

Emts where there with Disney security and OCSD.

Her friend had two "thimbles" of one of the frozen cocktails in her hand.

But by all means please continue to make yourself look foolish.
My dear, I suggest you let this go. This last post of yours does not make one bit of sense. But at least it is just like all the others. Bless your heart.

Thanks for keeping me entertained. You tried your best. Nevertheless I just hope you're not too hungover tomorrow morning.

Again with the condescending personal insults from the premium member. You are sooooooooo superior. I hope that works out for you in life. Nevertheless, I hope you are not too brain dead in the morning.

I can be quite charming. I just happen not to like you. Have a magical day!

I don't need you to like me. You don't know anything about me. And as for you being charming, you must be living in an alternate reality, as far as this thread goes.

However, in the interest of a peace treaty, I do not come to this website to fight. I can go to political sites for that. So let's just agree to disagree and move on. Your posts are really annoying me to no end because I am pretty sure you are making stuff up, but I'm willing to just move on if you are. So...peace?

One thing I'm not is a liar. I don't appreciate being called one or being accused of lying. I've been going to Disney World for the past 36 years since I was 2, Im far from a prude, but I've never experienced what I saw at Epcot during F+W on my last visit. You may not believe me, but frankly I don't care. It was a terrible experience for me and family, especially the incident in the monorail. So maybe you can understand why I'm a little down on the whole F+W thing.

You want to agree to disagree, that's fine. Just use the ignore feature to stay clear of me just like I'm going to do with you.

Yes I think it is best for you to ignore me because common sense eludes you. God bless you---- or something.

What I think is one of the strangest occurrences on these forums is the have someone state what they have experienced at a park and then someone else has to post that it couldn't have happened. Post A" The trash cans were overflowing" Post B "I was there at the same time as you and I never saw an overflowing trashcan"

These parks are huge. Why can't people just accept that their experiences may be different?

I know who you are. And I'm not crying any kind of tears over an internet troll posting under an anonymous name telling lies about Food and Wine to try to get a reaction. And by the way, this is the size of the drink that they serve at Food and Wine. If you can get drunk off of a thimble full of wine, then I don't even know what to say.

There may be thimbles of booze at the kiosks during F& W, but there are also the regular sized drinks that are always served at WS. Just because it's F&W doesn't mean people aren't drinking at the regular watering holes. I have seen drunks in WS, and it wasn't during F& W.

This thread aside, it does seem that posters that are predisposed to a certain opinion are also likely to post experiences that back up that experience. In some cases it does call the validity of the experience in question.

For example, a poster complains for months about cleanliness of the parks prior to a visit comes back with multiple experiences about overflowing trashcans. Or in extreme cases, are under the opinion that the Walt Disney Company is going to fold in a matter of weeks and comes back with tales of ride malfunction to reinforce the opinion.

In reality, the truth is somewhere in the middle. I've been going to F&W for about 15 years now. There are some Drunky McGooes at the F&W festival. Some nights are worse than others. I've not seen it degrade to the degree described here, but I would say making it through a visit without seeing someone at a minimum visibly intoxicated is rare.

Well .. this went sideways

Hey, Sideways was a very good movie!! And by the way, I'm not drinking the Merlot! lol

In all seriousness, we were there for the last week of food & wine and the only time I saw over indulging people was on the weekends. During the week, with exception of Veterans Day which was busier, it was very easy to stroll around world showcase with our son and take it all in. His favorite was the Jamaican Beef Patty at the Caribbean Booth.. We did spend a lot of time doing samplings, and since it would be impossible to try all the items we wanted to on the same day, we spent 4 days(afternoons) doing samplings. Had an awesome time, tried some great foods and met a lot of awesome people via sharing tasting tables.. We were actually there on Veterans Day evening when the globe malfunctioned so if it was my first time seeing the show, or I had paid for special viewing etc, I would have been as disappointed as the OP here..

My observations of the weekends at F&W are very in line with what others have said here. Large groups of people wearing home made t-shirts such as "Finding Vino"(pretty cool BTW) , EPCOT (with the Every Person Comes Out Trashed saying), the regular Drinking Around the World shirts, and more.... Trying to navigate was nearly impossible and if it wasn't for the fact that we had just come from the Studios via international gateway this past Saturday, we would not have even attempted to spend any time around the showcase, but we needed to get to the Coral Reef for our dining res.. We even ditched our plans to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy because of the crowds.. Yes, we spotted Reddy Creek paramedics there 3 times. Twice on our first afternoon on 11/5 (had an early evening fast pass for Frozen) and once on our short stay on the evening of the 12th. Did it ruin our vacation? Absolutely not, but maybe it ruined the day of the young lady sitting in a wheelchair whose Disney bag on her lap did not contain any souvenirs. ;) This occurred near the entrance to Frozen so you can imagine the crowds this poor lady (I don't feel bad for her, she did it to herself) had to have this happen to her in front of. If we had traveled for just the weekend and experienced those crowds, then yes we would have been extremely disappointed.

Bottom line is when you have Festivals centered around Food & Wine(not necessarily at Disney) you are going to have people that can't hold the alcohol.. And just because you may not have witnessed the occurrences we did doesn't mean things like this don't happen. This year was by far the worst we had ever seen it on the weekend.. Also, the crowd levels in general for the whole week were higher than we anticipated, but by using FP and lots of planning we had an awesome time!

I will say I was very disappointed with the Beer selections this year. Seemed to move away from the Hoppy beers etc.. Found myself purchasing 12 oz beers from Block & Hans the majority of the time (Honor IPA was very good as well as the MMMMMHops they had there). Only other places to find a decent IPA were the Bimini Twist at Craft Beer, and the Sam Adams Grapefruit IPA at Hops and Barley.

Coral Reef had a great IPA too! The diver below flipped over it!!

Awesome photo!

I think it just boils down to this (regarding the drinking)- There are stupid people in this world. Period.

The presence of alcohol doesn't create idiots.
They create themselves.
Can't fault Disney or F&W for that.

I agree to a point, but I think in the end that those who overindulge to the extreme will regret it and not look back on it as a favorable memory...

If this were true, why are other drinking establishments (restaraunts/bars) held liable if they serve alcohol to an inebriated guest?
That's two separate issues, but if you look at the string of events that would lead up to liable laws coming into play, if the imbiber wasn't an idiot there would be no need for such laws.

Do you know how hard it would be for every "drinking establishment" to not serve to inebriated people?

I'm a lightweight. 1 mojito and I'm minorly tipsy..2 mojitos - tipsy. 2.5 mojitos- done.
The person next to me could have five and not be tipsy at all.

The big thing with Epcot though- most people are not driving. So it's ok to be tipsy.
It's never ok to be sloppy.

Btw, I walk around old town key west with my child holding an alcoholic drink in my hand.
When he was 1-2 I used the cup holder in the stroller to set down my said alcoholic drink.

Never once was I close to tipsy on those occasions. I just enjoy the taste until the drink is too warm to be good any longer.lol.

Alcohol in itself isn't bad.
