I can assure you the moderators are doing the best they can. They have lives outside of moderating a Walt Disney World fan page and we should be more than grateful we're even given the "free rein" we are. If you feel a post/poster is too negative you are empowered to hit that report button, which will prompt @The Mom or @wdwmagic to investigate and take the appropriate action.
Or the ignore feature works well too.

Wow, some of the responses in this thread are just appaling, completely unnecessary. As they say, if you can't say anything nice..

or...we could all be understanding that because someones opinion is different than their own does not make it wrong nor does it mean they should not have the right to express it. I am always amazed at how outraged some members can get when someone offers a simple counterpoint or even just an opinion from a different point of view. I'm not going after you in any way @AJH219 but rather taking it a step further that if we all act like grown ups that there is no reason for reporting..... although the "ignore" button is one of the great marvels of the century.

Next time I go see my faves in concert or see a musical or a Cirque show, I'll be sure to complain because they didn't sing my favorite song or because Elphaba didn't fly or because a specific acrobatic segment was missing since I'm entitled to be OUTRAGED over things out of anyone's control.
Did the OP say they were outraged over it. NO. They stated they went to the dessert party, the globe didn't work and they never saw that happen before. It was then the others started posting about the crying towels and such. Yes in the title they said they were disappointed, but that is miles apart from outraged.

The thing that is hilarious to me is the 99.9% of the rude comments made from behind the computer screen these people would not have the balls to say to this OP in front of their face. I just love how the computer screen barrier wall makes everyone so strong and aggressive.

Is saying "thoughts and prayers" in a joking manner to someone's face going to get them beat up?

Before you began headbanging just realize you're trying to speak with someone who has a severe superiority complex. Trust me, it'll save you from wasting time. No matter how wrong I may be proved, in my delusional world I always see myself as the winner <3
Moth to the flame, me. :D

First off I didn't say anything about getting beat up if saying any of these things in front of the OP. Next "thoughts and prayers" is one of those types of posts on a forum that you cannot tell if it is sarcastic or not through your computer screen so I had no clue if it was sarcastic or not. I really didn't give that post much thought at all really. I gave the more obvious post more thought. To answer your question though if you are an adult and you would feel the need to say something like that to a total stranger in a sarcastic tone to their face b/c they said they were disappointed a Disney show had a glitch in one part of it than you have some issues yourself.

I'll admit I have some issues cause I would tell them to suck it up to their face and behind the screen. Don't underestimate my ability to be stone cold and unmoved by the complaints and hurts of others.

Telling someone to suck it up is totally different than making them feel like a fool by saying they will offer them a crying towel. I am not saying you made that specific comment by the way and Iam not going to be bothered to go back and look and see if you did or not anyway.

This thread has turned into such a mess that as I kept reading I could only think of one thing. What if instead of the globe not spinning the whole planet stopped spinning. That would really suck.

Are you aware that a superiority complex is often the result of a person actually having an inferiority complex?

I think what we're seeing in this thread is a microcosm of what this whole forum has been like lately. There seems to be a negative vibe in almost every post lately, and even mostly positive people are being affected, including myself. Us "apologists" or "pixie dusters" are starting to reply in the same aggressive, demeaning manner that the negative majority on here reply most of the time. I'm sure everyone on here can agree that WDW is not perfect, and there are improvements that need to be made. What some of us prefer to do, is accentuate the positives that WDW still has to offer, and recognize the negatives but at the same time realize the potential positives that the negatives could become. Listen, as someone who can probably only visit WDW once every year at the most, I am doing a disservice to myself to let WDWs shortcomings affect my trips there.
There have been a lot of negatives to discuss about WDW lately. As a long time WDW visitor, it has become increasingly difficult for me to stay focused on all of the positives. But I will not try to make fun of, or shame a poster who has a fabulous WDW experience either.

So why do you or any other WDW apologists ( your term, not mine) feel compelled to read a thread entitled "Epcot Disappointment" ? You know it's going to be a negative post based on the title, so why not move on to a positive post?

Additionally, why do people feel compelled to ridicule the OP? Wouldn't anyone who was attending an Illuminations Dessert Party be disappointed if part of the show malfunctioned?

Well, first of all, they don't even know the OP, so they are not ridiculing them. What they are ridiculing, in this case erroneously, is what seems to be the consistent attitude that everything in life absolutely needs to be perfect simply because we paid money for it. Nothing now, tomorrow or in the future is completely controllable by anybody. So mistakenly, people read that post as just one of the many that appear here on a daily basis that is entitled and as unrealistic as the Great Pumpkin. It was attitude, not the person that was being questioned.

Wouldn't anyone that attended Illuminations be equally disappointed and they didn't even get dessert. The spinning globe had nothing to do with the party or the cost of it. The damn globe was supposed to spin with or without dessert.

Nobody pays the price of a Disney dessert party for the dessert.
