I know I have a bronze EPCOT Center coin that reads "Dawn of a New Disney Era" on one side.

Anyone know the significance of it?

I also have a "We Did It!" cast button from 1982. :)

The Coin is the CM Exclusive Coin. Is was supposed to come on a paper backing. I love that one.:D

Nice button! I have the "We Can Do It" and the "We Are Doing It" ones. Been looking for yours for a while. How'd you get it?

Alrighty... a few goodies from my collection...

First of all, a shot of all (er... make that, "the majority of") my stuff...
Library.jpg

It's not all EPCOT stuff, but a lot of it is.

Up top, there's a hardhat that was used during the park's construction...
ConstruxHardhat.jpg

Down lower, some stuff from what EPCOT was supposed to be... a white booklet that was distributed after people watched Walt's EPCOT film, plus a comb-binder full of guidance for people working on Project Florida.
WholeNewDW.jpg

There's also a 25th anniversary button on there, a park opening medalion coin thingy, an EPCOT logo drink swizzle stick, my WDWCelebrations badge, and a 1939 New York World's Fair pin for good measure. You can also see the very tippy tippy edge of my Celebration 25 credentials hanging there on the right.

The two vintage souvenir license plates...

Why yes, that comforter does kind of look like the UoE logo. :lookaroun

Now for something completely different.......

Take a step back into time at EPCOT Center with these images:

First- THE LAND in it's original stunning glory!
EPCOT25LandPavillion83.jpg

Second - Fab artwork of the coolest show in that Pavillion back then, The Kitchen Kaberet!

WDWEPCOTPostcardart-KitchenKab.jpg

One of the many things i really enjoyed about EPCOT back in the day was the multitude of utterly gorgeous painted murals showcased around the Park in in certain attractions. The walls here shown in the above Land photo as just one example. The others i know of that i big favorites are the ones showcased at

SSE, the 'Communication of Man' mural.
Malestrom, the huge scenic collage of images from Norway
The Living Seas, the 'Sunset over Sea' decor outside of the Pavillion ( not painted, but still qualifies i think..)
My favorite is surely the one located inside the original JII Pavillion in the load area. It breaks my heart knowing that awesom pastel masterpiece was destroyed for the pointless 'replacement'.

And speaking of the original JII....

Here is a great photo of one of the many clay sculptures done in preperation for the creation of the attraction-

Now you are talkin'........

I have quite a few Walt Disney World pictures from the late 80s/early 90s. It is so cool to see how different everything was. Keep these pics coming!

Totally!

Actually i thought it was the rug on his rooms' floor....and i was looking at it thinking- " Did he get this outta some attraction/hotel/carpeted walkway in EPCOT"???

You have to admit, it kind of has that vibe.

Awesome man!!!!

Yeah, i think the hardhat takes the prize for 'coolest random EPCOT Center collectible EVER'. I want one now!

:D

And yes, i want one of those breadspreads too. Why does it remind me of EPCOT? I keep thinking 'Communicore' or somethin'.....
