Did you really request an interview?

I wish you the best of luck with that one.

If you get her, I'll give you a list of talking points you might wish to bring up that doesn't include what her fave ride at MK is and what she thinks of the AoA motel and whether she even realizes there's a place called Universal Studios Florida up I-4!

*sigh*

This thread IS getting tedious. Boys, quit playing "mine is bigger" and get back to the topic on hand, please.

Thank you!
Which bit? DCAs amazing transformation that has actually swapped the dermo across the Espalande? Or the fact it isn't finished yet? Or the HUGE E Ticket for DLs Tland AND the possibility of a similar attraction in Fronland? Or another totally new daytime parade? Or 2 different regular firework shows playable at the same time? Or the fact the fields are really on life support?

Or the problems in the MK I listed earlier, along with an incomplete SSE, dated Energy, underfunded Wonders, disgusting Imagination and Odyssey, lacklustre, themetically chanllanged but cheap n cheerful Seas? Stagnating Innoventions? Crumbling Fountain of Nations infrastructure? France's wonderful but 30 year old film? RoEs continually mothballed upgrades or replacements? For starters.

Edit- for balance, I am on record for half of SSE, the HM, and the HoP.

I'm not optimistic, but I'll talk with you before hand. I would hope that it would at least be more interesting than Chris Beatty's Disney Blog chat.

Autopia is going nowhere ... neither is the Speedway in MK.

Fans gots to get off that track. Kids love the attractions (driving still beats getting your first iPhone!) and so long as kids want to get behind the wheel you'll see these attractions.

And there's so much room in both parks, especially MK, for new additions and replacements that it gets tiresome hearing so much angst from fanbois who don't like seeing all 'that precious real estate being wasted' ... I haven't been on any Autopia version outside of HKDL in a good decade, but I understand why the attractions are there and why they (pun coming) oughta be for years to come!

That is one thing that makes me always wonder: how many people can only imagine new stuff being a replacement for another attraction and/or a clone from another park.

I am not a creative person, so I can't think up new attractions myself, but at least I can wish for WDI being able to build an addition to a park that is unique. I would think that adding to the total number of different ride experiences Disney offers worldwide (or even within the US) can only be a good thing for every fan.

I'm not familiar with what the Jungle Cruise refurb plans included (@Lee or @marni1971 might be able to help), but the attraction itself is in need of much TLC...between old, faded, barely operational AAs, and depressing and dilapidating scenes, docks, boats, and waterways...the entire place just needs a facelift. Mind you I haven't been since Feb of 2011, but the attraction hasn't seen any significant refurbs since then, and I believe I read that the Dock was replaced after being on the verge of collapse. Personally the attraction just isn't wortwhile to me anymore, though I also think that most of the Skippers don't really "try" anymore. I'm still kicking myself for not going on Disneyland's version when we visited.

I absolutely agree that the attraction needs a facelift, though I'm in the same position as you where we usually only ride it once or twice when we visit so it's an attraction where I always half-forget what happens; the upside of that is that there's usually something that surprises me whenever we visit the JC. I didn't know the dock had been in such poor condition, though I do remember a cast member telling some kids not to stomp their feet on it a few years ago in case they caused it to collapse; I assumed it was in jest but maybe not. Hopefully the Jungle Cruise does get the attention it needs soon.

I don't think it is just the real estate, it is no longer 'futuristic'. I think most would rather see it relocated to a place that fits thematically and with an appropriate theme overlay.

Then the "precious real estate" could be used for a proper transition between lands AND something a bit more forward thinking.

Right now the raceway looks lifted straight out of the sixties.

For all the hate on social media here.. it's funny people don't step back.

WDW1974.. don't you say so much of your objective is simply to get the message OUT there (hrmm.. kind of like a blog does..)
And don't so many people dismiss you and others petitioning against the company's choices as simply a noisy minority that doesn't represent the norm?

If you flood the market.. you drown those voices into being what looks like an extreme minority position.

When people read product reviews.. is one negative review enough to make you turn away? Or do you sample across the spectrum and see what everyone is saying and take note of how many are on each side? Again, flooding with positive, will tend to bury the negative.. either out of sight, or minimize it.

And as anyone in actual business knows.. the message and beating that drum in a repetitive pattern is how you get the message to stick. Doesn't matter if it's liked or not.. the repetition gets it known. And by seeding the social army with the message.. you are amplifying the frequency and reach of the message.

It amazes me how people are so willing to accept advertising on the merit of 'impressions' - yet are completely dismissive of the value of hitting customers in a social media platform where people have OPTED IN to see and hear your message.

I think I'm using social media quite effectively because my message spreads beyond simply the community here, but to other parts of the fan community and to parts of the company and industry.

Do you think that most bloggers and podcasters have such a reach?

My message isn't simply targeted at the fans here and I've never said it was.

But a Mommy Blogger in New Jersey has a limited audience ... as does a fanboi podcaster in NYC ... or a blogger in O-Town. I don't see their reach going nearly as far as mine (and other strong voices in the fan community), and I am saying that without a trace of ego. Just what I am told by others.

My message tends to stick. I didn't come up with the name 'InoverherheadMeg' for our WDW leader, someone at TDO used it in a discussion with me, but once I used it, it seemed like everyone was. A lot of folks hate Walmarting to describe what has happened at WDW, but I do know two WDW mid-level execs almost came to blows in a meeting when someone used the term.

I just don't see the general social media whores and even folks that I 'may' like growing WDW's business. And the science of social media metrics is one that seems to get created as we go along, yet we're supposed to take it as seriously as readership of the Sunday NY Times or viewership of the Olympics on NBC or the weekend box office numbers ... I don't ... and I won't (at this point!)

So FrankLapidus and JohnLocke are both posting on these forums. Anyone else?

MilesStraume, if you're out there, send me a PM -- I've been wondering what you've been up to these days!

I'm more interested in what Kate Austin has been up to ... and Juliet ... oh, does my heart bleed for her.

If all of this has happened, why do I still hear complaints?

Have the animatronics for Splash been fixed? If so, that's good news. I hear Pan isn't in good condition. Maybe that should be next.

It hasn't.

Basically, with a few exceptions, if you leave Liberty Square you can throw SQSs out the window (of your broken down monorail!)

I apologize it's not a mine is bigger game. Some people on this forum dilberately Are misinforming people and that's not cool.
I do apologize if I came off inappropriately

Nothing inappropriate to me ... and the mods would have taken your post away or said something if you had been.

But, yes, misinformation isn't fun.

I'm not even attempting to go back through the 4-5 pages I missed, so if someone had a question for me they're gonna have to repeat it. I just don't have the time to look for it.

WDW1974 and Martin, If you were given $600 million to do whatever you wanted in the WDW resort where do you spend the money? I would say $1 billion but I figure $600 million is closer to what actually might be allocated.
