Because it doesn't meet their goal of the entire area.

I'm going off the fact that Marvel is slated for that area. So if they had built a new Marvel E Ticket in that expansion lot, then ToT would have been in the way. And then would have been torn down.

At least this way the ride system still stays.

We know this isn’t true because every rumor had them building an avengers coaster behind TOT, not replacing it.

We ve heard multiple scenarios and none of them included getting rid of TOT. One where they were going to build an Avengers coaster behind TOT. And more recently, the parks blog mentioning that GOTG will be anchoring Marvel Land. There has never been one rumor/ announcement or even speculation that TOT would be demo’d. Then of course there’s also common sense. But you know that and just enjoy giving me arthritis in my fingers.

There was never a credible rumor of them keeping ToT and building Marvel around it, as far as I remember. If you find one please provide it and I'll be happy to bow down and say I'm wrong.

Yeah they specifically said TOT. They didn’t refer to it as a building or ever report/ insinuate that their was going to be a retheme of any kind. GOTG wasn’t on the radar at the time.

The first rumors of Marvel wasn't even an actual attraction. It was a walk thru being put behind ToT. When an actual attraction was rumored it was that ToT would be converted to something else. Yes GotG wasn't brought up at that time, but it was that ToT would be rethemed to something Marvel.

Again I've never tried to say that ToT was ever rumored to be demoed. That was my opinion, that if it wasn't rethemed to something Marvel it would have been demoed. Again my opinon.
