I'll never forget my first time watching a M:BO POV. lol

Sometimes I wonder of Chapek has ever ridden M:BO or hyperspace mountain in paris. Sorry, these busy cheap IP attractions not purpose-built just aren't fun!
Chapek doesn't have time to ride his own creations. That doesn't sell more merch!

I hate to do this, but I do recall Joe Rohde talking about this somewhere. They asked dlr if they wanted them to save Tower's ride system or demo it all and start over, and the same for a bug's land. They kept tower and converted it.

Thank you, I thought I remember something like that as well...

ToT had zero AAs. The MB overlay added a really good one.
I hear you, but I'm talking about the ride experience itself. I would prefer some forced perspective props over the screen, maybe with a screen interfacing it like a pepper's ghost so we can see the different background action in each scene. A rocket AA dropping down from the ceiling would be killer in the foreground. Even the way they chose to have the generator control room as the long room with the most flexibility with the mirror room as the main show room that you revisit several times puzzles me. The room we see the most should be the bigger one. I guess the option of just rendering out vfx sequences cheaply and projecting them made the mirror room seem more versatile but its also less effective if you go that route.

Hahah no worries. I don’t buy it to be honest. He probably said that (if he did) to look better in the midst of this controversial change. Like “look guys I saved what was left of it instead of it being demo’d.” Like Baxter with the Subs and Tarzan’s Tree House.

Also this conflicts with everything else we ve heard about this project. If the whole point was to get a substantial marvel ride in the parks ASAP, how would getting rid of TOT ever be an option? That would be like a 5 year TAT for modern Disney (between demoing TOT and building a new E ticket). It also doesn’t make sense that they would be satisfied with spending a ton of money to just swap out one ride for another... especially considering the parks capacity issues and that TOT was already popular. None of this really makes sense.

Incredicoaster's tubes and effects should have been all screens. M:BO should have been all practical sets and animatronics. They got both overlays completely backwards.

One is based on a pixar animated property and the other is photo-real life-action, now inside the show building of an E-ticket attraction.

agree, projections in those tubes would have made a difference and those static figures should have at least projected faces as well

I'm still sore about Tower of Terror. It was a dumb idea to get rid of DCA's best attraction (yes, better than Radiator Springs Racers), and it was even dumber to replace it with Guardians of the Galaxy, and even dumber again to put minimal effort into the overlay. No amount of Marvel additions to the park will fix this mistake.

In fact, the more Marvel that's added, the worse it all gets for me.

I'm this close to just throwing my hands up and never going to another Disney theme park ever again. I already have zero interest in any of the Disney movies anymore.

My interest is definitely waning. I know it's all going to end up trash in the end, so why watch it all go down?

For the first time ever, when I think of vacation next year, and the possibility of going to Disney as part of it, I don't really want to. And that's sad. I still have youngish kids, so that may sway me eventually, but as my transformation nears completion, Disney is all but a distant memory.

Visit my theme park. Admission is free but the rides cost money.

Just need $1,000,000,000+ to pay for its design and construction.

Have more than half of us even been on Mission Breakout? I lose track of these things but I thought a lot of people skipped it... I haven't even been back.
