Just wanted to re-visit this topic with photographic evidence. The mural in Radiator Springs Curios places the town of Radiator Springs on Route 66 between Kingman, AZ. and Flagstaff.

Yup. As great as Cars Land is, it doesn’t fit any better with DCA than Mission Breakout.

...if we re going by the original and more narrow scope of the park. If not, it all doesn’t matter anyway.

Well it goes from St Louis, down to Missouri
Oklahoma city looks oh so pretty
You'll see Amarillo and Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona don't forget Winona
Kingsman, Barstaw, San Bernadino
Would you get hip to this kindly trip
And take that California trip
Get your kicks on Route 66

Yup, which is why I don't sweat the California theme. Disney isn't so why should I?

I don’t sweat it either. But I do at least want rides to make sense in their respective lands. And I do want an overlay to improve an attraction or not be done at all if unnecessary. And I do want 20 story buildings that can be seen from all over the resort to be visually appealing.

I don't sweat it because I experienced it and it didn't work well. Not to mention even in the early 00s, a lot of it wasn't very California. The real theme we're loosing is early 00s aesthetic park.

Something I've yet to understand and have seen conflicting information on, if Marvel Land is taking up bug's land, Hollywoodland, and the expansion pad, that seems like tremendous overkill. Is it clear what combination/configuration the land will take?

Is it a bug's land and the expansion pad? Example 1: This seems like a natural fit. With Mission Breakout could be comparable to Carsland, etc. and still leaves opportunity for a retheme/refocus of MarvelLand.

Or, is it bug's land and Hollywoodland? Example 2: Can see potentially why the expansion would be desirable to leave for future potential, but would not be my first plan.

But, if we're talking about all of it, that's a huge percentage of the park. It seems like ridiculous overkill, and I say that as a nearly 25 year Marvel comic collector.

I am thinking option 1 is what they're aiming for. The hitch in the EGP (Eastern Gateway Project) is likely preventing any Hollywoodland expansion for Marvel.

That would be my thought, as it would seem like you could draw a straight line from the performance corridor to Mission: Breakout for a street, with an additional ride with a substantial show building just below Mission: Breakout. Could be an incredible land without touching anything from Hyperion northward.

It just gets a little confusion when rumors keep throwing various parts of Hollywoodland into the mix.

Take everything with a grain of salt right now. I expect we'll hear more detailed stuff next summer.

It seems to me that Disney will delay deciding on the final configuration for as long as possible. They can start with Bug's Land (it was was always going to be sacrificed), which will take at least 18 months. If the the political winds in Anaheim change in the meantime and a version of the Eastern Gateway is revived, maybe expansion goes north. Maybe nothing changes and expansion goes behind MB. Keep the options open.

Agreed. As I see it, other than us fans that want it now, Disney is not really in a rush. Now that being said, I'm in the camp that wants it now!

Oh no 18 months? So it’ll be like twice as good as Pixar Pier? So just terrible then.

I don’t have the greatest feeling about phase 1.

Why not color the whole park red and call it Marvel's Cinematic Studios Park.
