Have more than half of us even been on Mission Breakout? I lose track of these things but I thought a lot of people skipped it... I haven't even been back.

I’ve been on it a solid 8 times. It’s fun. It drops up and down. It’s not Small World, Dumbo, King Arthur Carrosuel or the Teacups. (My sons FL circuit).

ToT had zero AAs. The MB overlay added a really good one.

Again with this poor attempt at justifying this half-assed overlay. They replaced actual sets and effects with tv screens and Christmas lights. That’s not worth defending.

The Rocket AA in the preshow is a total tease because the actual ride is nowhere on that level. They should’ve had at the end instead of the glorified movie on the wall goodbye.

Yup you are one of the people I was counting as on it.

I'm not understanding what you mean by the Fantasyland ride comparison, it's not as fun as those rides?

No sorry. I meant it’s more fun than those rides. That it’s thrilling and a nice change of pace when compared to those rides that I always go on with my three year old son. I’m able to separate the fact that it’s fun (mostly due to the ride system) and the reasons why I hate the change.

I've ridden probably 3-4 times. I'm good. With TOT, it was a must ride for me. With Guardians, I only go if someone in my group wants to go. Its just not a well designed or executed attraction.

I rode it twice and don't really have any desire to ever ride it again. Never seen the films so in addition to not wanting to visit the bastardized successor of ToT I also don't feel any connection with the source material at all.

The queue is admittedly kind of neat though, it has an especially tense atmosphere during the Halloween version.

Yeah, in the last two months I've ridden the ride 4 times- my first time ever riding it being in June.

The room after the Rocket preshow is disgustingly poor. Stringing LED lights and human organs around doesn't count as "theming". It's the real world equivalent to my attempts at theming in Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. And the fact that poor Harold is sitting there rotting in plain sight.

Let alone the fact that I never once believe that the TV I'm watching on the ride is, in fact, actually happening.

Admittedly, the music is fun, and I do find myself smiling once I'm on the actual ride, but the overall experience is a mess.

Interesting- and maybe a bit off topic, but I feel the exact same way about the new Fantasmic. And Soarin'. And now Screamin'.

Disney's tweaked with a lot of classic attractions these last few years, in both parks- some major and some minor. I wonder if the alterations add up to a net gain for the park, or if the two parks were stronger in 2014 or so.

It's a shame that a Disney Imagineering has regressed back to the "We only need ONE animatronic to make the ride good" train of thought.

I thought they got that out of their system in '64 with Lincoln...
It's more than just the animatronic that makes that attraction so wonderful.

Definitely stronger in 2014. The only improvement might be the food and beverage offerings and the viral merchandise content, though portions and sourcing for food has, according to the rumor mill, suffered due to #thanksshanghai. As far as I'm concerned, the money spent on new fantasmic, m:BO, pixar pier, let's estimate to total near 300 million, got us nowhere.

I agree that the money probably didn't need to be spent, but a good deal of infrastructure and smaller enhancements were hidden among the bigger waste of money. New Fantasmic updated the water projectors, added projection mapping to the island, while the Incredicoaster is muuuuch quieter when running than California Screamin', and Mission Breakout vastly improved the ride profile and re-rideability.

And yet, each of those three experiences were stronger before the infrastructure and tech improvements.

Such a shame.
