It’s strange, we have so much coming, yet so little to talk about. I wish construction would start soon on something, or we’d get new rumor details on any of the projects, or something.
They gotta stop showing us stuff at D23.

They can still have the event with everything else, but stop showing stuff even if there is "dirt moving" and in "active development".

Sometime no news is ok. We're probably not going to get any updates on Cars until they announce the closure of Tom Sawyer and the Liberty Belle, which will probably be December at the earliest (depending on when construction is set to begin) If they gave us a weekly update on every projects, things would get boring quite quick. Small updates every so often is much better, and makes the updates more substantial.

I’m taking an early evening cruise on the Mark Twain - when was the last time they ran the Liberty Belle into the evening?

That will be the end of the beautiful paddle wheel boats at the Walt Disney World Resort... The beautiful Empress Lilly which graced the shores of the lake at Downtown Disney, stripped of it's fittings and reduced to an ugly modern interpretation of a boat....and now the Liberty Belle... So sad the lose this iconic piece of park history for an ill-fitting attraction...I just can't understand why this is necessary.

I think this concept would be better if it wasn't a Cars attraction -- not because I am opposed to Cars in general, but because it feels like it's going to really limit what this specific planned ride can offer. A themed outdoor ride through beautiful scenery with some interesting show scenes could be a fantastic attraction, but adding the Cars IP removes a lot of options.
Agreed. A scenic, off road drive through the American West sounds like a fantastic attraction, and even thought it's not the Old West I can still see how that might fit into Frontierland. By centering it around Cars, however, the charm of such a concept is lost. I want to see Marc Davis-esque gags with the wildlife, not auto part shaped mountains.

I think Western River Expedition would absolutely be a hit. Not only would it be an original attraction that fits perfectly in Frontierland, but I think that the success of the Red Dead Redemption video game series in recent years proves that modern audiences still care a lot about cowboys/bandits & Wild West stories.
I was thinking the same thing. I think it also means that Gen Z and maybe Gen Alpha will have a new interest in the Wild West that millennials and Gen X did not. When it’s in video game form, it flies off the shelves, allowing people to see how awesome that era and the stories it can tell really are.

I was playing Red Dead 2 last night and had a crazy idea that Disney should work a deal with Rockstar to be able to use Arthur Morgan and John Marston in Frontierland and a revived Western River Expedition (made PG enough for the theme park audience but without losing integrity of the games). I doubt Disney would chase such an adult IP but it would help them compete with Nintendo world.

I just think it’s a shame that we seem to be losing the Wild West of Frontierland. It doesn’t make sense to me either. All of the ‘problematic’ elements that Disney seems so afraid of have to do with the old south rather than the west. If they need to rebrand, why can’t they go full blown cowboys and bandits in the desert? I’m not opposed to Cars getting an attraction, but it should be at Hollywood Studios as another ‘land’ or Beyond Big Thunder.

Your post insinuates all people hate all those things.

I don't. I didn't like Carter or Ranger. But I've liked (mostly) all the SW and Marvel D+ series.

So.... me. I care.

2 D+ shows that stunk to high heaven were Secret Invasion (wow bad) and Miss Marvel...

As for SW. I watched the Acolyte and really, really wanted to like it, but dang, that was soulless garbage with bad, bad acting (even for Star Wars). Don't get me started on whatever slow steamroller paced trash Book of Boba Fett was.

Everything else Marvel and SW have been watchable to great.

IMO...
Marvel Stinkers: Secret Invasion, Miss Marvel, Falcon and Winter Soldier, Moon Knight
Star Wars Stinkers: Andor (I know some loved it, I thought it was so boring), Acolyte, and Boba Fett until Mando appeared and saved the series.

IMO:
Marvel greats: Wandavision, Hawkeye, Loki, (Agatha so far...I'm really enjoying it).
Star Wars greats: Mandolorian, Ahsoka

Several of the scenes would have to be modified to not be offensive in today's world.
