Even the most loyal workers will jump ship if the captain becomes too toxic.I find it interesting that Josh was reportedly thinking of quitting.

That is EXACTLY what happened…The gist I get from this is that Bob 1 got butthurt because Bob 2 decided he didn't need any help from Bob 1. Bob 1 then worked behind the scenes to be able to say I told you so after Bob 2 stepped all over himself trying to play CEO.
But I’ve been told Iger is coming back to fix everything and he’s our lord and saviorThat is EXACTLY what happened…
And it’s all iger’s fault.
As the saying goes, it's risky to bet against James Cameron. That said, so far the performance is a bit iffy and hard to read. It's outperforming the original's opening day levels of course. But the original's opening day numbers were fairly poor, it was positive word of mouth (and a lot of repeat viewings) that propelled it to success after the initial opening. It'll probably have legs like the original, though I doubt it'll make as much.
Seems like CYA for a egomaniac…doesn’t it?But I’ve been told Iger is coming back to fix everything and he’s our lord and savior
It appears that Iger never wanted to leave. Instead, key shareholders, BOD members, and some senior leadership executives allegedly had been encouraging him to retire for years. Iger was pushed (but not forced) to step down.Every article should bring up the fact that Iger was the one who decided to leave when he did, picked Chapek and was his mentor for a year.

As usual, Iger is trying to change the narrative and pass the blame onto someone else. It's one continuous legacy and mindset.
Every Chapek failure is an Iger failure.
Iger didn’t pick anyone….I am starting to think I was drugged with some hallucinogens and imagined that Iger hand picked Chapek to succeed him.
Execs who have work contracts have termination provisions ( aka golden parachute ) when they get fired.I find it interesting that Josh was reportedly thinking of quitting.
All the more reason that Iger is a horrible choice to again chose the next CEO.It appears that Iger never wanted to leave. Instead, key shareholders, BOD members, and some senior leadership executives allegedly had been encouraging him to retire for years. Iger was pushed (but not forced) to step down.
I suspect Iger never wanted to go and felt no one was good enough to replace him. Ultimately, Chapek’s selection as CEO was about being in the right place at the right time. Iger never thought Chapek would be a great CEO. This is why Iger reportedly felt so strongly about mentoring Chapek.
Chapek made mistakes but Iger was always looming over him, making Chapek’s job that much more difficult.
He’s not in a big wig “golden parachute” kinda slotExecs who have work contracts have termination provisions ( aka golden parachute ) when they get fired.
Actually, I would not term it as "looming" but more like lurking in the shadows. It appears that Iger never wanted to leave. He wanted to quit? I heard he might have been replaced but I wasn't aware it was partially because he was thinking of leaving...I find it interesting that Josh was reportedly thinking of quitting.
It’s funny how both he and McCarthy were “hostages” AFTER chapek got fired, isn’t it?He wanted to quit? I heard he might have been replaced but I wasn't aware it was partially because he was thinking of leaving...
It will have legs. Both Titanic and Avatar opened to middling box-office and we saw how that turned out. The reviews are good and the people who have seen it are raving (myself included) so good word of mouth. Never discount the WOM - look at Greatest ShowmanSo is Avatar 2 in trouble?
Sure it’s doing “fine” at the box office but considering it needs to make 2 billion it seems to be struggling.
It warms my heart that all my Padawans here have found the “true way”Had Covid not happened, I fully believe Iger never would have left. He stepped back for a brief time and let Chapek take the heat while he continued to lurk in the shadows continuing to dictate company policy (again the company was only actually Iger-less for about 11 months).
I also feel that as long as he doesn't sense another disaster incoming, Iger will attempt to remain on for as long as the board keeps voting him back in. I don't buy the "temporary" nature of his return, or that there's any actual succession plan in development.
And this post of full of speculationIger didn’t pick anyone….
He was gonna continue to play the “wha?…you want me to stay?” Nonsense game and woulda offed chapek…
But he got scared of the Vid…and a scenario where the stock would tank and he couldn’t dodge blame…so he quit like an absolute COWARD.
Full stop.
History is full of facts.
It’s a lot to ask anything to have those kinds of legs these daysIt will have legs. Both Titanic and Avatar opened to middling box-office and we saw how that turned out.
