Big changes for the McDonald's near All Stars

I never would have suspected Fulton's, I'll have to go there sometime. And yeah, it's still The Fountain at the Dolphin. I've also quite enjoyed the burger at Beaches 'n' Cream. And yes, Fuddrucker's is always awesome.

Yeah. It is one of Disney's best-kept secrets when it comes to dining -- but of course it isn't Disney, it's Levy.

The sad thing is it was $8.99 WITH cheese and bacon and side item for YEARS. In late last year it went to $9.99 and the bacon is extra now. Still, an incredible deal.

They also have the best home made kettle chips I have ever had.

I stopped Beaches and Cream many years ago when they closed to 'renovate' for a month and reopened with a 20% price increase and lower quality by far. I know it's up there with 'fans' and 'regular's but the place does nothing for me anymore.

The ice cream is also better and with more choices at Dolphin Fountain.

Still need to try Raglan Road.

Not to drift too much, but has anyone tried the pizzas for lunch at Portobello?

I liked Raglan Road the few times I've been there. I have had the pizzas at Portobello and enjoyed them ... I really like their pasta and salads too.

EDIT: Nevermind, I forgot Pecos does have single burgers.

Doesn't change the fact that the quality of the burgers is in the toilet.
Are these the sit down burgers or the quick serve? Even though the buns have changed (not for the better) the actual burgers are the same burgers for the past 10 years at least.

Oh I know the burgers have been the same. I never noticed when I was a kid, but now I do, and they're terrible. And the prices steadily increase without an increase in quality.

Yeah, but that's life.

Most things increase in price while the quality remains the same. Coke is Coke, but it doesn't cost the same it did 10 years ago.

I would like to see the burger bar concept to return to more places throughout though. If you put enough toppings on, you don't even release there is a burger there any more.

This is the reason I only eat at Pecos or Cosmic Ray's if I eat in the park.

Coke hasn't doubled or tripled in cost. And in some case, when on sale, can be had for the same price as a decade ago.

Coke's quality has also remained constant.

Disney's quick serve quality -- in many cases -- hasn't.

If the burger is that bad that you need to pile stuff on it then the obvious question is why even eat it at all?

Oh I agree. I only get 1 burger per trip, and that is at Pecos because of the bar.

I think this is one of the areas that the cutbacks are evident. I don't complain much, but when you start to take food away from me I get upset.

I would buy more burgers in other parks if there was a burger bar along with them like there used to be. For the most part, quick serve is where I have noticed the sharpest decline and homogenation. More and more I find myself just grabbing a snack and waiting for the big dinner than eating at quick serve in parks other than Epcot.

Table serves has seen some homogenation definitely over the past few year (every place has the same crab cake, just with different sauces!), but quick server, in my opinion, has really gone down hill.

Agreed. Almost every quick serve has the same stuff. Unless you're in Epcot all you are gonna get is burgers, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets.

If it wasn't for World Showcase and Flame Tree Barbecue, I probably would never eat quick service.

They aren't horrible, but I enjoy the toppings more than the burger. To me it's like a baked potato. The potato itself is nothing more than a vessel to transport bacon, sour cream, and butter into my stomach.

With regard to the quality of quick serve, I would say it is on the down swing right now. For a while though it was pretty good. I would say the quality fluctuates overall though in very large cycles.

Got proof on that one?

I wonder if one of the reasons the characters are being removed (besides looking very dirty recently) is due to McDonalds new facination with making themselves appear to offer healthier food? Their commercials for the past few years don't cater to kids like they did back in the 80's-90's. I mean, when was the last time you saw a commercial featuring Ronald, Hamburgler, Grimace and the Fry Guys? A few years ago you couldn't watch any cartoon without seeing a McDonalds commercial promoting a new Happy Meal promotion every commercial break. Even though I don't eat there, I sure do miss seeing Grimace and Mayor McCheese on the television, Birdie, not so much! :)

I would rather enjoy a better quality burger on Disney grounds elsewhere than spend $$$ on one at a McDonalds on Disney grounds. Ugh.

You're right...totally doesn't make any sense.

Probably the only place you can get a seat...as they are not on the DDP:shrug:

That's a shame. Silly as it was, that was something we always got a kick out of driving to the All Stars. Why turn it into an ordinary McDonalds?

The ironic thing is, their food is more disgusting than ever. Anyone had a Chicken McNugget lately? It's like eating cold rubber with a chickenesque flavor.

I think the nuggets are actually tastier than ever. It is one of the few things I actually enjoy eating there besides the fries.

When I drove by and saw it was undersconstruction I was soooo sad. Not that I ever ate at this MCd's but I loved the characters on the outside. It reminded me of being a kid!

Bye bye uniqueness and hello boring corporate buildings, oh well. I never eat that junk anyways. As long as Mc Donalds stays there and not in the park I'll be happy.
