Honestly, you guys should change the name of this board to something other than News and Rumors, because rumors are by definition unconfirmed and the members just can't seem to grasp that.

True. But while rumors are by definition unconfirmed they must be based on something to make them valid. I can't just pull it out of the air and say Disney's going to build a casino next year. Unless you have some substantial reason to believe it to be true than it is not a rumor but rather just someone’s random thought process being typed on the Internet.

If we got Beastly Kingdom, Indiana Jones, Monorail Expansion, and Harry Potter, what would these rumor-mongers do?

Don't forget Star Tours 2. I believe one controversial poster really longs for this attraction.

MGM would be the only half day park..

It never used to be, until it was run into the ground. Indeed, in peak season D-MGM was a day and a half park...

To be honest I am absoluetly astounded that Indiana Jones ride hasnt been built in florida..

It was. Dinosaur. R&D not withstanding, It seems management decided they couldn`t justify spending the same ammount, if not more, for the same ride system and support facility again in Orlando. To date, that is.

Oh come on. if Disney can justify a bunch of 3D shows, Circlevision movies, and numerous simulators..they can justify two jeep adventures especially when its such a huge hit with guests in california and japan.

I have an idea...what about something orriginal. Not based on a overused movie theme.

No comparison.
The cost of running the Indy ride is several times that of the other rides you listed.
You have to build it (costly) then maintain it (almost as costly). There is a good argument against having two emv rides at the resort just due to the cost factor alone.

I would like to see something original too... But, I agree and disagree with Ghostbuster on this one... The 3D or 4D movies are similar, just different themes.... Star Tours and Body Wars are the same ride, just different themes, yet, we all know where Body Wars is going.... Dinosaur and Indy may be the same ride vehicle and pattern, but different theme, thus making it a different experience.... But the management, for one reason or another (money) chose the stunt show over an attraction.. Not that I mind the stunt show, cause I do enjoy it every trip...

As Lee  said, money is everything - Ghostbuster, I doubt management for a second (unless they`re having a really bad day) would think Forbidden Eye, Crystal Skull or a third version of the Indy EMV wouldn`t be a hit. EMV`s I guess are seriously expensive to build and maintain (just look at the faults with Indy DLC compared to TDS with the hydraulics) plus the show building and effects etc. etc.

It`s unfair to compare an EMV attraction with an Omnimover or CV360 - more on the lines of building another Everest in the MK but calling it Mt. Snowdon.

Well, considering that the attraction went into the movie studios, it would be appropriate to have the stunt show vs. the clone ride. The ride is more appropriate in the MK.

You doubt that ive been longing for an update to Star Tours?? Ive said this before and i'll say it again once Disney and Lucas update Star Tours I will be satisfied with Disney leadership and you will not here a complaint or negative comment out of me again.

I don't mean to jump on you, but you're basing your entire view of Disney leadership on one ride at MGM? That's why you're so negative about everything? Well at least you admit it. IMO, I think there are other rides that should be updated or changed that are much older than Star Tours.

So, let me get this down correctly....you think that the saving grace of Disney is an agreement between Disney and Lucas?

I think any future significant investment in the Indiana Jones or Star Wars product is dangerous, specifically since Lucas has stated that Episode III was going to be the last one that he was going to do, i.e., no VII VIII or IX. In addition I dont see any future plans for the Indy product line either. I think you stand a better chance of seeing a major attraction with the Lion, Witch, Wardrobe product than with Star Wars or Indy.

Well, there is always Indiana Jones IV and Star Wars and Indy are classics that will live on long enough to justify attractions.

Then my friend you are uninformed. How can you miss the headlines that Lucas is developing no less than TWO television series based on the Star Wars franchise and Indiana Jones 4 is moving foward. As a matter of fact Speilberg just hired David Koepp to touch up the script and then they are going to film it within the next two years. Even if they werent continuing with these two franchises, they have plenty of staying power.
