those earings have always irked me and i'm sure people in management too.
I be lovin' the earrings.
I guess if Tony Baxter can wear brown every day, Rohde can rock the ear weights.

Are they going to be using the money for something else instead now?
I didn't mean to imply that the projects were dead, just that it's March and there don't seem to be any signs of construction at the Studios.

He was probably just saying that because Eisner and Strategic Planning told him no.
Nah. This is Joe Rohde we're talking about. If he was so determined to build it, he would have gone on and on about it.

I think you are missing the point. There is a huge difference in a "discussion forum" and a "news and rumors" site. In a discussion forum any one can post whatever the choose regardless if it is true or not. I can post that that I just quoted engineering costs for a building that is going up in the 5th gate if I so choose. It would then up to the readers to determine for themselves if the information was credible or not. Chances are people would call me out as a lier. However if Lee was to post the same information members would start reserving rooms around the projected opening date. When you spend some time reading the discussion forum section of this site you will soon find out which members really know what is going on, which ones think they no whats going on and those that are just full of BS.

Sites such as JH and SS give a sometime false aura of credibility because the rumors are posted in more of a factual news article format. Just because they say "rumor" in front of the topic does not relieve the author of the responsibility of checking his/her source. In the case of SS there seems to be little or no research done to verify rumored information.
.

How am I missing the point? I agree with you.

I agree with you (mousermerft) on that, doesn't Disney have issues with things like this as well as tattoos?
For CM at that parks, yes they have issues with these things. For employees in other sectors of the company such as WDI, not so much.

Yes, when I had lunch with an Imagineer at MGM ( did it twice - in other words I recommend it!) he mentioned that Imagineers are cut some slack when it comes to attire, not only because they are most often out of sight and unseen, but when they ARE in the parks thwy want to blend in, and a suit and tie in a WDW park makes you stick out as strange or out of place.

In my opinion, Beastly Kingdom would throw off the overall feel of Animal Kingdom; especially if they put in a medievil setting. It would have to be executed carefully for it to be harmonious with the rest of the park. I think they should expand using Australia, North America, & South America. The Amazon River is such an inspirational source. Dinoland, U.S.A, I think, is only successful because it isn't as visible from Discovery Island. I think Imagineers need to keep remembering that this is ANIMAL Kingdom... not Characterland or Scary Fantasyland.
Beastly Kingdom was going to be added in for the imagined animals part of the basic idea of Animal Kingdom focusing on living, extinct and imaginary animals. Everest is the first big step into that part. Besides, Beastly Kingdom would basically give us a European area to the park which is really good.

It is entirely fair to criticize this pompous site, especially since it tries to pass itself off as being in the know.
I mistakenly thought you were referring to WDWmagic not SS. My apologies.

I especially like how they are asking people if they have more information, lol.

Next they will post "Screamscape heard a very reliable rumor that someone might be telling us a rumor about something. Please let us know if anyone can confirm, or has any additional information about this rumor."

Imagineering is said to be working on a new hybrid design that will take popular elements from the California, Tokyo and Paris attractions to come up with an all new ride experience.

OMG THEY STOLE MY IDEA!!!

To be honest I am absoluetly astounded that Indiana Jones ride hasnt been built in florida. I mean all the other popular rides (Star Tours, Tower of Terrror, etc.) and the pixar rides (buzz lightyear) have been cloned at all the parks so its shocking that Indy, arguably a "top 5" attraction, hasnt shown up in Disneyworld yet.

Well, let's look at it logistically. The original beastly kingdomme plans called for the dragon towers coaster that eventually become dueling dragons over at IOA. So the Dragon Towers Coaster is probably out. I'm sure they'd love to explore the idea of the morphing coaster again, but I'm guessing it would be an entirely new theme.

Dragon Tower isn't a morphing coaster, that was Fire Mountain. And Dragon Tower is not nor has it ever been anything like Duelling Dragons. Dragon Tower was an inverted coaster starring a bunch of Bats stealing gold from a greedy Dragon (featuring its own Dragon AA that youy speed by)

Given Everest's placement in Asia as opposed to it's on separate land, it seems that they have effectively decided not to put the mythical creatures in their own land, at least not the mythical creatures that have cultural ties to Africa or Asia.

Perhaps a stage show that showcases mythical creatures like unicorns, dragons, etc. could work, but the likelihood of BK in it's original conceptualized state has probably less than a 1% chance of being built.

There are so many possibilities for expansions, and given the success of a well thought out attraction like Everest, I'm guessing that the next $100+ mil expansion will be the best of all possible solutions, and I'm not quite certain that Beastly Kingdomme is that solution.

Everest never will and never can fit into Beastly Kingdom since The Beastly Kingdom concept is focused on the classical european mythical creatures. Everest's Yeti is more geared towards Asian lore and is more concerned with realism. comparing The Asian Yeti to the European Dragons and Unicorns of myth it like comparing vegetables and fruits, they both grow from the earth but aren't necessarily the same.

Even though these ideas probably won't come to anything, they are pretty interesting to think about. Youn never know, screamscape put up five new rumors in one day, that betters the odds that one of them will be right.

I was under the impression that Dragon Tower was a morphing coaster. I mentioned Dueling Dragons because many of the imagineers that were behind the Dragon Towers coasters went to Universal and IOA where they came up with Dueling Dragons.

You are actually wrong on this one! What is really going to happen is that the AAs from IASW are going to attack SSE and remove the hand and wand and leave their handprints on the dome.

If we got Beastly Kingdom, Indiana Jones, Monorail Expansion, and Harry Potter, what would these rumor-mongers do?
Go to six flags. WDW would be closed due to really bad management and massive losses. :D
