Noooooooo. Twilight land would officially end my trips to whatever park builds it. I couldn't do it. I would instantly fall asleep when I walked into the land probably injuring myself. I have tried to watch a few of the movies and never got past 20mins without snoozing out.

I don't like Twilight or Avatar but what's funny is most of us, whether we have seen Twilight or not can at least name three characters from the films, I can't name two from Avatar and I've seen it, one and a half times.

Or Scenario C:

"Star Wars"? Isn't that that old movie from way back in 2005 with Jar Jar Binks in it?

Yeah because no one remembers that iconic film trilogy from the 70's and 80's that spawned the most iconic film franchise of all time do they? When you say "Star Wars" you don't think of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Droids, Yoda, Tatooine, lightsabers, "May the Force be with you", no instead you instantly think of a despised sidekick who had a significant bit-part in one out of six (soon to be nine) films.

Let's see, Avatar characters... There's Lt. Dunbar, Stands with A Fist, that annoying bat voiced by Robin Williams... And don't forget that blonde kid who flies on the pterodactyl: http://submit.boingboing.net/2012/03/avatar-2009-vs-dinotopia-2002-flying-dragons.html

Have you taught 1-8 graders?
I have, and I was shocked at how many of them were somewhat familiar with the prequel films (The last one was released while I was teaching) but many, if not most of these kids have never seen the original movies, and weren't particularly interested in doing so.

I would imagine that most people posting in this thread are in their 20s and 30s and have probably seen all the Star Wars movies, but what we have to keep in mind is that unless they were brought up in a family of sci-fi nerds, most actual children today don't have a lot of familiarity with the old Star Wars movies, and if they have, it's probably because of "Family Guy."

My kids are 11 and 7, and they know the original trilogy very well, have watched the Clone Wars series, play with SW Legos and action figures and have SW games for the Wii and PS3. They have NOT however, seen the prequel trilogy.

But maybe I'm just raising them right.

I forgot; my daughter recently caught Ep. II on TV. Her review: "Meh." And she thought Anakin was too whiny. Of course, she is also disgusted by even the mention of Justin Bieber's name and knows all the lyrics to every song on Sgt. Pepper's, Abbey Road and Revolver. She's an interesting kid.

My 14 yo daughter is the same way. Loves the Beatles, Dr. Who, and makes fun of her friends at school who drool over The Bieb.

I really believe if avatar happens it will be like the turnout of cars land in a sense. I love cars but lets be honest its not peoples favorite movie but that doesn't stop it from being one of the greatest things that WDI has ever done and everyone loves it. I'm sticking with Avatar I truly think that regardless of what people think of the movie it could be great. Star Wars would be the smarter thing to to. The star wars fans would love it and Disney would make so much money on merch, I cant even imagine.

You're right. I just believe Star Wars makes offers more potential in terms of the many immersive environments in that saga.

However, to be more in keeping with the majority of the theming in DAK, I wish they would revive and re-tool the Wild River Expedition concept to create an America land.

Sorry Star Trek is 100 times better than Star Wars, Star Wars is the first movies to be made to sell toys, simple stories for simple people with cute easily sell able creatures. I don't want to see that Lucas garabage at all. I would rather see Disney give Avatar a good try, Star Wars would just end up being a massive building filled with crap to buy.
star trek isn't as popular as star wars and most people would agree. we're talking about theme parks

I don't want either one of them in WDW, frankly. There are actual Disney-created/adapted properties that have NOTHING (Mary Poppins, for instance). But of the two, SW seems more economically feasible. At least that property has recognizable characters. *shrug*
you don't like star wars? i thought that was a property you were okay with
