I don't know if DHS has to be all Pixar but I would like to see them put all the Pixar into one park. You can't make it all Pixar or people who don't like Pixar (most likely people without kids) probably would skip DHS. There's room for Lucas and Pixar plus some other attractions. That would leave MK more the the classic Disney with DHS being the modern or what ever you would like to call it. Now that I think of it Nemo in Epcot goes well with The Sea and I liked Crush. They can stay where they are.

Thats a good point, maybe not just Pixar, but I feel it should be directed more towards Animation. Make it the place for all of your Disney Jr stuff as well, as the History of Animation, I mean, it really is how it all started in the first place. Pixar is going to just continue to grow and grow, and it really needs its own place to grow with it. The MK is built on the fantastic stories of the past, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty....some day Toy Story, Nemo, Cars will all have the same kind of timelessness to them (maybe not to the same level) but they will stand on there own. And honestly I don't see anything wrong with having a park that was mostly kid themed, AK is animal themed and the only reason i go there is for Everest cause I could care less about seeing animals, but for others it is their favorite park, Epcot is really an educational adult park more than being kid friendly. I think its good to have a niche.

Universal is on fire.

If this comes true with LOTR Universal will have a solid 10 years of building going on, actually if you count Potter 1.0 it will be more like 12-13 years of solid building. The boyz over there are bringing their A-game for sure.

Disney better bring something mind-blowing to the table. I think that new management could help, but Disney needs to blow our minds with Avatar, Star Wars, or both.

I totally relate to a Star Wars themed land more. That is what I grew up with. Avatar on the other hand.. couldn't finish watching the movie.

regardless of the IP disney needs to seriously invest and not cut corners...cars land is incredible not because of cars but because it was done correctly

Correct! Pandora in DAK could be a huge winner if done correctly. It makes me a little sad that the vibe I get is that JC wants to do all kinds of cool stuff and Disney is overly concerned about costs.

I love hearing the Disney hasn't produced any good movies lately comment, there was the one movie they had called The Avengers, you know the one that is already #3 on the all time grossing list and has been out for less than a year. Pretty sure Brave did well finishing 11th overall for last year and grossing over 500mil.
Disney didn't make any of those movies. They only distributed them.

The poll still is overwhelmingly in favor of Star Wars over Avatar by more than a 6-to-1 margin. Disney must be aware of Star Wars popularity. They must be aware that a Star Wars themed land at WDW could be a huge hit, a possible Potter Swatter. Why aren't they stopping? Possibilities include:
  1. They actually think Avatar is more popular than Star Wars.
  2. Momentum is difficult to overcome in large corporations. They've put a lot of effort into Avatar and there's too much momentum to change course.
  3. They have a contract with James Cameron that would cost millions if they tried to pull out.
  4. They believe Avatar in DAK is needed more than Star Wars in DHS.
  5. They believe Star Wars would take too long to develop. Avatar is needed sooner to counteract WWOHP2.
  6. They've already made exclusivity deals to open Star Wars in Disney's Far East parks.
  7. People's egos/reputations are on the line. Changing courses would mean acknowledging Avatar was a mistake.
Why do you think Disney is not moving forward with a Star Wars theme land at WDW?

Sometimes I wonder if Walt was alive, if he'd approve of the way Disney is operating today...

I can answer that easily: space.

For a Star Wars land to exist at WDW, they are naturally going to center it around Star Tours. Which means something has to go. Indiana Jones is not going anywhere....Disney owns Indy too, and Epic Stunt Spectacular still draws huge crowds, and the Echo Lake area could easily be given the Indiana Jones treatment...so their only real option for expansion would be to bulldoze New York Street/Streets of America.

However I don't see that happening anytime soon....with Disney's recent buying spree, I can't help but get the impression that sometime soon they are going to attempt to buy Universal out of their existing Marvel contract.

And should that happen....let's just say we are going to see a lot more agents and black vehicles roaming around New York Street.

And possibly a new addition to the NY skyline...

I'm pretty sure the expansion would be all of Echo Lake rather than Streets of America

Have to go with Star Wars because I have watched it and will watch it again. I have never watched Avatar and never will. There is nothing about that movie that appeals to me at all.

i ve never watched a full episode of the simpsons but the ride is great....a great ride is a great ride the IP hardly dictates the quality of an attraction

True and I never said I wouldn't go on the ride if it's there but I hardly think one movie requires a land, especially a movie that as far as we can tell may have no lasting power after it's initial release.
