Are you ready for some Football?....:):)

I just can't believe I'm defending the Cowboys in a roundabout way. Internally, if the last score was a jab at T.O., I understand that. I didn't hear New England running their mouth before the game was played.

Very simple;
Pats vs. Cleveland and the Pats do NOT run up the score.
Pats vs any of the teams that decided to take shots at them over cameragate or just generally run their mouths (see LT and the Chargers last year and this year) and the Pats score whenever, however and as much as possible. No talking before the game. No mercy during the game. No talking after the game. Just look at the scoreboard.
Wade chose to weigh in on cameragate and TO chose to be himself (not that he can help being a selfish, media seeking egotist) so with NO cameras the Pats scored 48 points.

Mangini and the Jets should be afraid, very afraid.:)

Oh, and good for the Saints.

I don't get the Righteous Anger® supposedly being exhibited in reaction to Cameragate. They cheated and got caught. Move on. Why get mad at people for pointing out what YOU did wrong? They're a good team, obviously. Why do they need the extra motivation of getting fired up because of reaction over something they did to themselves? I know in sports, you take whatever bulletin board material you can get, but to act like this is some righteous crusade seems silly to me.

Because people are making it seem that they did not earn those Super Bowl victories. It's personal now.

If you accomplished something and people tried to take away your credibility...you'd do everything in your power to prove them wrong by going above and beyond most people's expectations.

Iakona nailed it on the head again...Wade opened his trap about it and the credibility of the 3 rings...and he paid for it. The Patriots, Bill, and the Pats faithful have a chip on their shoulder... Can't blame them for showing the dominance they have. The Patriots do their talking on the field.

And...WHY was it a problem that the Pats did the Merriman dance last year? He would've done it if they won...why is it off limits to the Patriots when they won?

I read on ESPN.com where Phillips claims he never said the stuff that was attributed to him about the titles being tainted.

Did he still deserve the beatdown in that case? :lookaroun

You mean similar to the righteous anger and indignation exhibited by all those that have tried to claim that the camera was why the Pats won 3 Superbowls? Like McNab wanting "his ring." Or LT and his comments? Or Tony Dungy? They all piled on because they have been beaten by the Pats and they chose to call into question the 3 Superbowls. So yes, now I sense a mission to prove that they are champions with or without the supposed camera.

By the way, multiple coaches (Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcels included) have said that those films could not be used during the game. Also, a little research by those claiming a blackmark on the SuperBowls ignore the FACT that the Pats only played one of their SuperBowl opponents during the regular season (the Rams).

This is not the Pats saying this. They are saying nothing. they are just scoring touchdowns. It is my opinion that they are showing no mercy to those that chose to kick them when they were down. They got caught and were punished. Aspersions on their SuperBowl wins are, IMHO, what has caused the chip on their shoulders, but let's be clear; I have not seen any righteous anger on their part, just going out and beating teams.

King is pretty reputable so I am not sure I believe Phillips.

Bill Simmons tends to get carried away (a lot) in his writing, but this column seems relevant. It's basically the same mindset you guys are talking about. Simmons was practically in mourning after the camera game, writing about how he couldn't believe it out of his boys and how it made him sick. He seems to have recovered nicely.

What was the dog's name? Oh yeah...

BINGO! That was his name-oh... :lookaroun

Hehe, I don't buy the Buffalo and Cinci one though.

If you look at the scores...it was 31-7 with 10 minutes left!
And... 27-17 with 3 minutes left...

As far as the Cleveland game goes...if there's a fumble...and you can pick it up and run with it...why would you just drop to your knee only being up by 10 points?

How are those "Eff you" TD's?

If you won three Pulitzers in five years for articles that you wrote and then did something stupid and copied a paragraph that someone else wrote word-for-word without crediting them and got caught. Would you get a little ticked if people called into question your three Pulitzers saying you must have copied from other people to write those articles as well even though there is no proof that you cheated writing those articles? That you won those Pulitzers because of your hard work and skill in writing, not because someone else wrote things and you copied them? Wouldn't that annoy you just a bit? You obviously had no talent those years, since you did that this year. Other writers who were being considered suddenly say that they should be given "their Pulitzer," and have yours taken from you? You can't tell me you wouldn't have just a bit of Righteous Anger in you and start writing the best articles you've written in your career just to show everyone and make a point by going for Pulitzer number four.

No fair using my actual career as an example.

I understand the mindset a bit better now. I agree that a lot of the reactions from outsiders after the camera game were out of proportion to the situation, and had the sour grapes ring. It seemed to me that some Pats supporters were trying to dismiss that the team had done anything wrong at all, thus my original post. That doesn't seem to be exactly the case, the more that I've read.

Oh no...we're fully aware that there was some cheating that took place. It's inexcusable and the Patriots organization should be ashamed of themselves but to discredit their previous victories hit home a little too much and involves people and players that had nothing to do with it.

Now they are out to prove that they're the best to their opponents, their fans, and most importantly...themselves.

Once again...I picked Nawlin's to win...can they make it 2 in a row? That one's for you Dana

Dopester...after last week...it's really hard for me to pick Chicago unless I know beforehand that Hester will get the ball over 50% of the plays

1 half of play; 42-7 Patriots. Do they take a knee the entire 2nd half?

NOOOOO!!!!:lookaroun I have Brady in Fantasy Football. :sohappy:I want more TD's and another 300 yards in the second half:ROFLOL:

This has been the beast year to have him on your team. I know you want your sister to win.

Tom Brady is awesome...that is all.

Oh yes, Saints are 2-4...SUPERBOWL BABY! Of course, the Pats will just destroy us when we get there, but it will be fun nonetheless.

6 TD's and 354 yards.... sweet fantasy numbers.

And how about Wes Welker, the #3 receiver, getting 138 yards and 2 TDs on what was it? 9 receptions? That boy can play! And he's my #3 receiver on my Fantasty Football team and is getting more points some weeks than my #1 and #2 combined.

Edit: Oh, and I went to the Bills/Ravens game today. Got some good pictures. When I've loaded them and gone through them, I'll upload some to my photo album here.

No, you don't take a knee the entire second half, but according to the final score it looks like they did call off the dogs.

Tom Brady looks unstoppable this season. Unless they suffer a key injury or two, this team might not lose all season.
