1. Bill Belichick and his play calling.
2. Great game plan for NY
3. Incredible Defensive line for NY
4. Too busy with the media and not the practices
5. Lack of Offensive line for NE

They were literally outplayed at every aspect.

Offense...well, they scored more points.
Defense...well, they allowed less points.
Special Teams...look at the average starting line the Giants had vs. the Pats
Coaching...a major underdog winning...I think that says it all.

1. Mcdaniels and Belichick share the blame for this. They should have started the 2nd quarter or at least the 2nd half with a 2 minute offense. That would have limited the Giants substitutions and gotten Brady into a groove. They have done it in the past and they should have done as soon as it was apparent that our offensive line was having trouble.
Going for a touchdown on 4th and 13 instead of a field goal indoors with perfect conditions was DUMB. I said it when they lined up, I screamed it before they snapped the ball, apparently Belichick and McDaniels couldn't hear me!

2. Absolutely.

3.Outstanding game by them.

4. Not buying this one. Bad Coaching and recognizing the Giants had a great game plan killed us.

5. Agreed. This could have been overcome by changing the gameplan, but they kept doing what wasn't working and never got into a rhythm.

Great job Giants, but I still love my Pats. After years of horrible, losing seasons who would have thought we would be ed at going 18-1 and losing a close SuperBowl?

I only brought up the media because it seemed like 10-1 Pats vs. Giants that were shown being interviewed by ESPN, FOX, etc.

I was satisfied with the outcome. First because I dont really care for the Patriots. Second because I like an underdog. Third I have a better chance of seeing a team go undefeated then seeing brothers win back to back Superbowls.

The only reason I would regret that the Patriots did not win was that I really would like to have seen Junior Seau get a ring.

I just thought of something...what if Boston and the Mets meet in the World series (aka 1986)?:lookaroun

Then the media will call for the head of Brian Cashman for not obtaining Johan Santana, and blow it waaaaaay out of proportion instead of judging that trade a few years down the line. Heck, after 2 months into the season, we'll hear how smart or stupid the Mets were based on how good Santana does after a handful of starts.

I have my fingers crossed for Johan Santana to do well, considering what the Mets gave up for him.
