Rumor Another DHS Closure?

It's the only attraction left with the "Making Movies" theme. It feels like it belongs over at Universal Orlando, though even they are jumping the production ship with only maybe Fear Factor Live at all tangentially related.

The entire concept of the "behind the scenes" and "studio" parks in general is just getting outdated. It just isn't an interesting topic anymore. It was a neat thing back in the 80's/early 90's, but now, with every freaking film made in the past 20 years getting some "making of" features, and the advent of digital filmmaking, there are just so few "gee wow!" neat things anymore, and the most interesting "how did they do that?" stuff long past. There just isn't much to impress people or talk about anymore, much less stuff worthy of inclusion at a theme park.

I say take out the "making a movie" portions of the show, make the show enclosed in an AC theatre, and make the stunt show revolve just around the scenes! Or make up some new scenes! I absolutely love stunt shows, and it's far superior to the one at Universal.

I'd be perfectly fine if they got rid of the current show completely so long as they replaced it with SOME other stunt show style show somewhere on property. There are moments of the current show that are fun, but the massive breaks between each of the three acts just add little value to the run time and the fact that so much of the show has to be cut/modified if the sets are even a little wet can really put a damper on the show. The indoor Pirates of the Caribbean Stunt Show at Shanghai is a lot of fun and it would be neat to see something like that or an Indy themed show come to a new indoor theater.

Remember when people used to pay to watch other people water skiing?

Yep. The only way a making the movies theme would still work is to: a) go completely throwback and make every land and attraction themed to the Golden Age of Hollywood and the films if that era, which would not work for a variety of reasons; or b) by adding attractions that let you be a star in your own digital film creations which, while a cool idea, could not carry a whole park.

I actually don't mind the Hollywood adventures, live the movie vibe they are going for at DHS so long as they don't radically change ToT.

No offense, but you consistently make posts asking for unlimited IP/dumbing down of the parks...do you not?

Anything so the 5 year olds aren’t bored...which is boring to everyone else.

You have a one up on me - your name vaguely rings a bell but I don't recall any opinions of yours in particular memorable enough to return the snark with.

In any case, you should re-read my posting. It has nothing to do with IP - it has to do with the "how movies are made" studio parks. They are passe. People don't want to see demonstrations or emulations of how they were made, they want to be IN them.

Not even worthy of a response, as you clearly didn't understand what was being talked about in the first place.
