American Idol: Season 7!!

You all bring up good points about it being longer than 2 days. I have another question...Do they listen to every single person in the crowd? That's a lot of people! I can't imagine listening to everyone...I'd go crazy!
You also have to take into consideration that some of the people trying out bring 2-4 people with them.

Actually, in the past eliminated contestants from the top 24 and 12 have complained that they didn't get enough camera time in the early episodes, so people never "grew attached" to them.

I think it's a valid point. There have definitely been times where I feel like editing and judges' comments are practically ordering me to vote for certain people.

As an aside, the girl near the end last night, with the blue dress and the big belt, who tackled Whitney (terribly) and refused to believe she stunk...well, of course she was from my hometown. She was on the news today singing more and insisting they were wrong. I don't think she was the worst ever, but she wasn't good enough at all (even the woman on the news said so). These people are so deluded.
I actually felt so embarrassed for that woman. :dazzle:

The AI website said they went to 7 cities last season.
If they're doing the same number, that means we have one more city....am I right?

And I agree, the auditions need to end.
I know Atlanta is next Tuesday and I guess Wednesday starts the Hollywood round...

Let's hope they have more Hollywood round this year than last year. Now, the Hollywood round is my least favourite round, but I still thought it was rediculous that they only spent two episodes on it last year.

Ugh...I thought tonight was the start of Hollywood...:brick: There is apparantly a Best of the Best thing tonight..I guess that is good so we get to know the "good" contestants more instead of all the crappy ones...

Tonight will be a first for me. I've never watched past the auditions.

I hope someone sings using that voice tonight! :lookaroun

When will I get to see Simon being mean? He has this reputation and I haven't felt like he's that bad at all.

I think he has been a little mean already...BUT it has only been to the people that were bad singers and deserved it.
He won't disappoint...don't worry...:)

Yeah, I thought Hollywood was going to start tonite too since they kept advertising it during the Superbowl. I'm not looking forward to tonite, because I remember they did this last year and they never really showed anyone really good or really bad. It was just lame.

And I hope the Hollywood round is longer than two episodes this year. Now the Hollywood round is my least favourite round, but its still important. I could barely tell who from the auditions was kicked off and was sent to the next round. It was very confusing.

Yeah, tonight's episode was definitely the leftovers from the previous episodes. Filler. Milking the cash cow. The entertainment high points were the chick who sounded slightly better after learning a Dolly Parton song and the weird twins/girlfriend/dog saga. Not that interesting.

With all of the flak they've taken from past finalist contestants about early season screen time, I suspect that the final 24 were equally featured in these eight audition eps. Any of the people who made it to Hollywood but received two seconds of screen time so far probably won't be in the final 24.
