American Idol: Season 7!!

You know what's funny? I'm a country fan, myself. I love country music and Carrie Underwood is one of my favorite artists on the radio right now...but what Kristy did to that song last night was just awful. (And as I said, I love country!)

It was way too manic and the song didn't fit the music at all. It was a trainwreck from the beginning. Absolutely a nightmare.

100% agreed. I too just love Carrie now. During her season, I was for Bo. I am still a fan of Bo's. But she has just really won me over since she officially went country after winning!

Gah, that whole thing with Jim Carrey was crindge-inducing. :brick: I hate how fox uses AI to promote its crappy films.

I loved it. He's hilarious doing anything and I thought he poked good fun as the whole cross promotional thing. Fox is almost as good as Disney at doing it. And it usually works for me when they don't take it seriously and poke fun at the blatant advertising.

And I also don't know why people are down on Cook's song. I know very little about country music, but to me, that sounded just like most country songs you'll hear while eating at a Lone Star Steakhouse (really the only time I hear country ). I can't say I get the backlash

Hmm... I have the strangest urge to see Horton Hears a Who.:dazzle: I really don't know why...

Gah, this shameless self-promotion is killing me.

Anyways, after seeing Kristy's song again... I think it would've worked a whole lot better if the tempo was slower. It just goes so fast to the extent to where it sounds like a South Park song. If it were slower it probably would've been recieved better because the vocals really weren't that bad...

Do you mean Kristy's country song? I don't remember David Cook singing a country song.

As far as Kristy, I love country, but not all country. I prefer the modern stuff that has tones of rock in it. To me that was just way too hillbilly, and to add insult to injury, it was a hillbilly version of the Beatles, which for me personally just doesn't sound right at all. That's just me though.

No different than when Disney is hosting ESPN: The Weekend or promoting the parks on America's Funniest Videos among many other things. It's called cross-promotion. Everyone does it.

okay a new low....have people call the show and asks questions. Can this be when Idol Jump the Sharks :lookaroun

Absolutely terrible. This could easily be a jump the shark moment for any other show. I seriously doubt this segment will last long. Yes please bring back 30 minute shows. Otherwise, I'll more than likely stop watching results shows.
