American Idol: Season 7!!

Oh Meyla Weyla
I think David Cook did the best last night...:sohappy:

He was great wasn't he? He and Michael are my favorites this year. I like a couple others, but these two make me almost as happy as Bo and Taylor :D

I think he is going to be this years Melinda Doolittle. Everyone thought she would win but she ended up in third place..(if I remember correctly). He is a great singer but he does something that gets on my nerves...when he sings he licks his lips over and over...:zipit:

OMG that was driving me crazy! I hope someone talks to him about that so he can attempt to stop that habit, because it's really annoying and distracting.

I am happy with who left last night though I thought Kristy should have left instead of Asia'h..but Kristy may be the next one to go unless Chickeze bombs his next performance...
I agree. I didn't think it would be Asia'h this time. Even though my DH likes Kristy, I thought Asia'h was just a better singer in general.

Boo! Michael Johns deserves to go after murdering "Across the Universe." He took a quietly intense song, completely misinterpreted it, and played it like he was taking a nap.

I just tuned into the last minute to see the order in which they put them, and no surprise they put "Pimpchuletta" in the pimp spot once again. This show obviously isn't even trying to cover up who they have preconceived to win. :hurl:

And he felt flat on his face. But he's got enough of the screaming 12-14 year olds in America to put him through.

Eh, it was a mixed bag tonite. They were good or they weren't. David A. was a BIG dissapointment... Wow, I didn't even think he would mess up so bad. Oh well, he'll still stay around. Amanda is VERY overrated and I don't know why the judges like her at all. I can't understand a word she says when she sings.

And lastly, *sigh* I still think Kristy is the hottest of the bunch, but it may be her time to go. Well, if I had things my way, I'd keep her around one more week for one last chance, but if she does bad then... then its time to say good-bye.

If I could switch Syesha and Amanda, then I would agree with your list. I just don't get Amanda and what people see in her. Simon is right--I could only understand a little of what she was saying and EVERYTHING sounds the same when she sings.

She sounds like a Joplin-like professional singer. But that style does nothing for me.....at all.

This season should be interesting. There is no superstar, IMO, but there are about 9 or 10 even singers. There will be no surprises in vote offs this year.

Bye, Kristy

Talk about manhandling a song...what a mess! I can't stand her, so I was overjoyed to see her performance tonight. It was by far the worst of the night, and I would be shocked if someone else left.

Right now, my favorites are Jason and Brooke. Carly was really good, and is very talented as well. Here's the problem with all of these contestants: they're going to suffer from "Melinda Doolitle-itis."

In other words, the critical faves (for me, Jason and Brooke with their folksy-indie vibe) don't stand a chance because, although people like me (27 years old) like the show and certain contestants, we're not "fan" enough to sit around for two hours constantly hitting redial - like the tweens who drool over David Archuleta (who is undoubtedly a talented kid, but not the best of the bunch).

I agree with the statements about Amanda....once Kristy and Syesha go (unless she starts picking better songs), I think she'll be next - she is not good enough to make it past week 3 or 4.

Michael Johns is way better than the songs he picks. David Cook is IMO less talented, but comes off better each week due to song selection. Michael needs to pick songs that not only showcase his talent, but songs that he can "get into" (otherwise he'll keep sounding karaoke).

Anyway, very surprising night.
