All Tomorrowland, All the time (Has Disney given up on the TTA?)

See, and this is what I don't get...I love walking the DAK trails. Last time I was down there I literally sat there for a good hour and watched the gorillas and talked to their trainer.

But the original Sea Cabs and the original pavilion were just so...sterile. Other than the Hydrolators, I though it was just very cold and uninviting.

It was boring, agreed. The thing is, Nemo really spiced the pavilion up for the better. My little sister spent about an hour alone on the touch screen pop quizzes whereas she would have been bored at the original Seas.

I love the trails at AK as well. When the wife and I are there without the kids we quite often stay on one of the trails until we are told to leave the park.

And to think, when I was told months and months ago that TL would finally be getting a cohesive, unifying theme...I assumed that New Tomorrowland would finally be complete. Looks more like they are throwing it out in favor of Toonmorrowland.
Any insider info as to how it would all tie together?

Please tell me the Speedway is going away. I tin no way connects to any of the lands at the Magic Kingdom and could be used for a better attraction.

I agree with you mostly... except for the original Journey... Why oh WHY did they ever mess with that?? (Sorry... did I just open a can of worms???)

Same reason....people were not riding it.

Journey's replacement was more complicated than that. The ride needed to be updated, but it was still pulling in attendance numbers. The problems involved outdated technology, mechanical issues, and the general lack of advertising. An extremely outdated 3-D show probably didn't help—during the pavilion's heyday, Epcot's demographic focused more on teenagers and adults than kids, and Captain EO attracted Guests because of Michael Jackson. Imagination 2 and 3 haven't helped the pavilion at all, and its numbers are very low, especially when compared to the Land and the Seas.

Quite honestly the only truly popular attraction that I can think of that WDW has ever shuttered was 20k. It was shut because is simply cost too much to operate, loaded incredibly slow and was not ADA compliant.

Don't forget Mr. Toad. For the sake of argument, ignore the claim that kids didn't know who he was (despite the DVD's popularity); the ride still attracted Guests because FL doesn't have many rides in the first place. Winnie the Pooh should have been an expansion, not a replacement.

:D They can get addicting. I still have yet to visit Rafiki's Planet Watch though.

Rafiki's is just such a pain to get to. It really isn't worth the time, IMO.

It was honestly the joke of Epcot while I was there. CMs would literally have to hold back laughter when trying to recommend it to people.

Winnie the Pooh should have been an expansion, not a replacement.

I agree, but at least Pooh is a quality attraction.

Integrity has nothing to do with it. If Horizons and the Living Seas had been pulling in decent numbers they would still be there. You could not pay people to get on Horizons and those that did go on it that weren't Epcot zealots were typically bored to tears. The same was true for the seas once the sea cabs were mothballed. Sure I liked Horizons and Sea Base Alpha better than what we have now but the majority of them park guests would disagree. If an attraction or show is working Disney will not change it. You want proof of that just look an Indy at DHS. That show remains largely unchanged and it has been running for 20 years. Why? Because nearly every performance is too a nearly full house.

Yeah, Horizons was dead for years before Disney actually closed it. I still believe Epcot needs another attraction that ties all the pavilions together like Horizons did, but the low-key, PBS-style presentation was not popular in the loud 90s.

Sorry for the double post.

IMO SSE could and should do that, and all it would take is some tweaking for the finale.

I was really hoping that SSE was going to do that but it fell a couple feet short of that mark.

I love the Winnie-the-Pooh ride.

Please don't flame me. ;)

No flaming necessary.

I like it a lot too. Definitely my favorite Fantasyland ride until they decide to bring Pan into the 21st century.

The Heffalump room is just terrific.

Same here.

Also, I guess it does make sense that Rafiki's is a pain to get too.
I am really holding back for Beatly Kingdomme. :lookaroun

I'm all for changes and plussing, but why does that resort to character tie-ins?

 Probably forever.

The long rumoured MI land seems more likely now.

After seeing an interview with Rohde about everything being about nature rather than discovery I doubt we will ever see that. I hope somehow we get an awesome lion King ride to connect Africa and CMM.
