All Tomorrowland, All the time (Has Disney given up on the TTA?)

Integrity has nothing to do with it. If Horizons and the Living Seas had been pulling in decent numbers they would still be there. You could not pay people to get on Horizons and those that did go on it that weren't Epcot zealots were typically bored to tears. The same was true for the seas once the sea cabs were mothballed. Sure I liked Horizons and Sea Base Alpha better than what we have now but the majority of them park guests would disagree. If an attraction or show is working Disney will not change it. You want proof of that just look an Indy at DHS. That show remains largely unchanged and it has been running for 20 years. Why? Because nearly every performance is too a nearly full house.

I agree with you mostly... except for the original Journey... Why oh WHY did they ever mess with that?? (Sorry... did I just open a can of worms???)

Same reason....people were not riding it. Quite honestly the only truly popular attraction that I can think of that WDW has ever shuttered was 20k. It was shut because is simply cost too much to operate, loaded incredibly slow and was not ADA compliant.

No one is riding SGE and they still haven't gotten rid of that.

Even CoP isn't pulling in big numbers and that is still around.

Do we know this for sure?

I think its a strech to say that COP is pulling in big numbers because there is never a wait. On New Years EVE it only had a five minute wait while SGE had a 40.

That's what I said, CoP doesn't pull in big numbers. SGE is always 5 when I go. (It didn't even reach 10 min. when I went for the 4th of July)

Could have fooled me. I was there last weekend and the last weekend in September and the theaters in CoP were about 1/2 full and full theaters for SGE. Quite honestly I have been waiting for the doors to close on CoP for the last decade. I think nostalgia is the only thing keeping the doors open. It also does have the advantage that it is a guest eater and a great escape from the rain.

If I am not mistaken, CoP's theaters are bigger than SGE's.

Do not let wait times deceive you. As long as the theaters are full or nearly full then an attraction is pulling in its numbers. Ween you see no wait and more empty ride cars then full ones and 1/2 empty theaters then you have an issue.

No, I'm serious. MK was stuffed that night and literally no one was on SGE. (I went on it)

Also, SGE is in pretty bad shape as it is. If it's going to stay, at least fix it now and then.

Well let me ask you this, knowing you love the Jungle Cruise.

What if, in favor of promotionalism over originality, Disney added Stitch to the ride, gave the skippers corny scripts (no pun intended), and totally messed with it?

Ah...but see there's a difference, and this is one of the biggest problems of fanois(which I'll get into in the next paragraph). Jungle Cruise doesn't need a change. It still pulls in terrific to staggering numbers. The attractions that most people bemoan losing didn't.

And the huge problem with fanboys right now is that they blame the problems on the characters. It's not the characters' faults. It's just that some of the attractions aren't quality. I honestly couldn't care less what character is used as long as it fits the land and is a quality attraction.

People go to Disney to see and experience things that they never would find anywhere else.
When your have attractions based on some property its like you are familiar with it and its sorda takes the excitement out of it.
It's like directors doing adaptations from a book to a movie as opposed to having a director making a beautiful original idea into a movie it's more exotic because you are not familiar with it.
I'm not saying adaptations can't be beautiful, but for Disney parks people demand experiences that they can't find anywhere else.

And you think that the vast majority also do not demand characters? I think you should re-evaluate this view point.

What are you talking about?
They were quality attractions to begin with.

And so are the replacements.

Besides, I thought the original Seas was about as fun as a pile of radioactive waste.

I liked the original seas but it had one major problem. You had to find something to do or to look at. The entertainment was not shoved down your throat. It certainly seems like the passive entertainment found in places like the living seas and on the trails and displays in AK don't appeal to your average theme park guest.

Sorry I misunderstood you. I am on the SGE is an abomination from hell side but I think those AA's were pretty expensive AND WE MIGHT BE STUCK WITH THEM FOR ANOTHER 5 TO 10 :brick:

See, and this is what I don't get...I love walking the DAK trails. Last time I was down there I literally sat there for a good hour and watched the gorillas and talked to their trainer.

But the original Sea Cabs and the original pavilion were just so...sterile. Other than the Hydrolators, I though it was just very cold and uninviting.

I blame both the characters and the quality. Disney just wants to make a quick buck off a plushie.

The majority has been dumbed down over the years.

Fully agreed.
