The Hatbox ghost is an effect that was in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion roughly 50 years ago, and for a very short period of time. In short, the animatronic (or perhaps it was a static figure) had a head that would disappear, and then re-appear on a hat box that it was holding. It has long been rumored to be coming to both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion.

That would be really cool to see and would possibly mean further proof that Disney is willing to add on to HM.

Just to reiterate it is still unknown when/if WDW will get the new AA although considering they set up the area for him much like they did in Anahiem its a safe bet he will be coming shortly after the Disneyland version.

Oh and I recommend you guys ignore those other MK threads since they are full of baseless rumors and fan dreams. If you want REAL information this is the place for you

I wouldn't be surprised if he was added sometime before the first MNSSHP on Sept 4. His addition sound more like 3rd shift work or a 1 day closure, not a lengthily process.

Hes going in the Attic. The new attic scene was basically designed to tell his story.

Hence why the bride is holding a bloody axe, the heads of the men in the portraits disappears as you move past them and there are hatboxes scattered about.
