I am beyond excited. This was always my favorite counter-service restaurant in all of WDW. The teriyaki steak sandwich was to die for! If that returns to the menu I will have to be sedated.

I'm really hoping this turns into something really unique and special. Something that ties Pleasure Island's Adventures club atmosphere, with the quirky hilarity of Jungle cruise style Servers and the Whimsy of the movie UP's characters. If they really put some effort into this Adventureland Veranda could be the best restaurant on property.

Edit: spelling

I have high hopes for whatever goes into that spot. Its got a decent amount of area to work with. Anything adventure tied should stand to have some excellent theming.

Ha! Like i said, I think it was built up too much. No one was doing much of anything. Maybe I came inbetween anything exciting.

Now I did love the old lounge in the Polynesian village before it turned in to Ohana. Think it was the tambu lounge. That's what I want!!! :)

Wait... Did you not go to the Hoopla? I could see how you might have a negative opinion of the place if you never went to the main event. Without attending any of the various shows, it was just a nicely themed bar.

I was hoping it would be for a surprise E-ticket ride none of us knew about that Iger approved after touring the WDI model shop and seeing a lonely E-ticket model that's been sitting in a back corner collecting dust for the past 30 years...

Can't speak for shake shack but in and out is very overrated. It's a fast food hamburger. Nothing special.
Shake Shack is phenomenal. You guys stole it from the northeast. It belongs to us.

Pirates wouldn't make sense given location here. This is in the jungle portion of Adventureland. Of course, they built the headquarters for the pirate game in Frontierland....

Is it bad I'd actually enjoy a chick fil a inside of MK lol, NO BETTER FRIES EXIST!!! (save animal style fries maybe)
Not gonna lie, would love a chick fil a in the kingdom. Who cares about theming! but...

Universal Orlando actually makes some of the best French fries around (burger digs) And that's about the only food then make that's palatable lol.

Thank you. Brilliant thinking that is not done by management.
You should work for TDO.
So many basic things that they have done wrong to pinch pennies.
If the parks are crowding, and for many years they have been packed, gives "guests" what they want and deserve-
Open those classic restaurants now!

It seems that unless they have a guest in every seat that they will not open another one up. I have been there when they have CM's queueing people up outside of the CS restaurants because you cannot even get in the doors and there were usable restaurants closed. It has never made sense to me. Many times I have left MK hungry because I either did not want to wait in line for 45 minutes to get a tuna sandwich and then have to wait 10 minute to be seated with people I did not know.

It closed in July of 1994 according to this article, which has most everything you could want to know about the restaurant including the menu it had in its final year:

It reopened briefly in 1998 while Pecos Bill's was under refurbishment.

It was also open briefly for the week prior to Christmas in 2011. I had a bowl of Jambalaya there and it was pretty good.

Yes
Anyone have an idea on how much space we're talking about for either a QS place or full service? SOMEone has to have blueprints or an aerial view!
