    Disney Vacation Club

I agree that the DVC is not for everyone but I can see no almost no negative points at all for the frequent quests. I bought into the DVC when I had to actually wear a hard hat to tour the property because of all the construction back in 1991. I bought in at the minimum number of points, which...

What do you always have to have when u go to WDW?

Pins, Turkey Legs, Pins, Hat, Pins, a Classic Collection piece, and did I mention Pins?

    Remember When...

World of Motion for one. While Test Track is a worthy replacement, World of Motion was better than almost every other attraction in Epcot. Free roaming characters is another. I miss the excitement of not knowing when or where the characters would appear. Unfortunately unruly tour groups...

    Favorite Disney Music

Easily "Golden Dreams" from The American Adventure. They also play it over the intercom in Future World.

    Lines from Disney

Or as Robin Williams says in the Animations Tour: "Please keep your head and arms inside the theater until it comes to a complete stop" More from Robin Williams: "Oh, it's so bright. It's like being in the presence of Barbra Strisand" and in Time Traveler ... "Oh Oh, The pants...

    Which Guide Book?

Unofficial Guide, easily. The main reason is in the title. Being the “unofficial” guide means that nothing in it has to be blessed by Disney. They really tell it like it is without whitewashing anything. Disney World is my second home. I know it inside and out and I still buy the Unofficial...

    Lines from Disney

some of the most IGNORED "lines" "Please, no video taping and no flash photography" "Caution, Caution, ... appraoching the loading area. Do NOT strike the car ahead of you" followed immediately by "BAM... BAM ... BAM!!! and my all time favorite .. "Move ALL the way to the end of...

    Take out Wonders of Life

I think we should be thankful for what we can get. Each pavilion is a 10 year contract with a corporation. That corporation will do it’s best to educate, entertain, and advertise. When that contract runs out, as with Horizons, the corporation is free to walk. If MetLife doesn’t think it’s...

    Lines from Disney

Funny, just before Bill says the numbers, my group always yells out "NOT SEVEN!" It gets the new Test Track riders even more nervous when 7 comes up.

    Lines from Disney

How about these ... “How come you’re not laughin no more?” “Please, please don’t throw me in the briar patch!” “Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow” “Universe, you’re cleared for landing” “You are not the first to pass this way, nor shall you be the last.”

If someone said you only had 2 more hours at disney world...

Every trip ends with only 2 hours left and for my family and me that means Epcot.

    Lines from Disney

I’ve noticed that many of the posts end with favorite Disney expressions or lines from Disney movies and attractions. I thought it would be fun to list our favorites here. Some of them, like “It’s Fun To Be Free” from the old World Of Motion bring back some fond memories. I was also wondering...

first ever trip to the magic report

I just love reading reports like this. A lot of us old-timers get way too caught up in the tiny details and forget about the overall experience. Riverman, you did a wonderful job expressing your enthusiasm. You brought back memories of my first trip to WDW and reminded me of the real reasons...

    Annual Passes

You're right Mom. In late 2000 I believe, Disney changed the renewal policy. Although we lose on the deal, it actually makes more sense now. A renewal is a continuation of the current one and new is new.

    Annual Passes

If your AP is given a retroactive date when you turn in your voucher, it is an error and will be corrected by Disney. This has happened before. Just be sure to verify the expiration date they put on your AP at that time. Remember, the voucher has no expiration date and therefore your time...

    Annual Passes

An annual passport purchased from a Disney Store looks like an annual passport but is actually a voucher. It does not have an expiration date on it. You take that voucher to Guest Relations at any of the four parks or Downtown Disney. You present the voucher and a photo ID and they will...

    October 2002...First time, Any advice?

If you’re a Disney nut (and I think that’s a requirement for being on this board) then you really want your vacation to be Disney 24/7. Staying on property means that the magic doesn’t end when you leave the parks. At the Disney hotels, you’re still in a wonderfully themed area and still...

    Which Moderate Resort?

Coronado gets my vote too. Big, beautiful, wonderfully themed and the best food court on property. The pool also ranks among the top.

No Annual Pass this trip, ideas on what to do outside the parks?

We never fail to rent bicycles. There are some great places for bike rides. Our favorites are Old Key West and Wilderness Lodge. There is a trail leading out of the back of OKW that takes you to the Tree House Villas, The Disney Institute and Downtown Disney. The trail follows the Sassagola...
