Really dumb question (shopping in WDW)

I always have breakables shipped to my home from WDW. Everything from Christmas ornaments, to figurines, etc. I have received 3 items that were broken in the shipping process. One call to Disney and all were replaced. I wouldn't take a chance carrying china home myself. Have it shipped. It...

    What's your favorite Disney collectable?

My favorite things in my collection would have to be my Big Figures (have 11!) and my 1950's Mickey Mouse Club memorabilia. I also have snowglobes, an entire Mickey kitchen, and too much more to mention....now all I need is a house big enough to put it all in!!!

    50th Anniversery Celebration

Yes, they are putting in Buzz. I haven't heard if it will be the exact same ride as WDW but I would assume it would be pretty close. The castle is being redone and you can see artist's renderings of what it will look like on DLR website.

    Which Disneyland Hotel

I have stayed at the DL hotel and the GC. Both are nice, no complaints. I prefer the GC because it is closer to everything. You walk right out of the hotel into CA or DTD and DL is just a short walk. From the DL hotel it is a short walk to the monorail station where you can board a monorail...

Now tell me about the waiting area scenery at Disneyland

I don't remember too much theming in the Splash Mt. line, but I have used FP's the last few times so I walked through pretty fast. As for Pirates, much of the wait is spent outside the building. Once you get inside it is a short walk to the boats, but there is one scene with the parrot and...

    Olympic U.S.A. swimmers visit resort

I sent an email to the address that was listed at the bottom of the article and got info for the Dallas visit the next day. If you are looking for info for your area, they will respond!

    The DL hotels

If you have been to the WL at WDW, the same people designed the Grand Californian at DL. A beautifiul place!

Benefit of staying on property at Disneyland

I always stay at a DL resort. It's just part of the magic for me. I like the GC. To be able to walk downstairs and right into DCA or Downtown Disney is worth the extra $ to me. I would not however pay $265 a night for Paradise Pier. I normally pay about that for the GC! I would keep...

Haw far from Orange County airport to Disneyland?

I haven't driven it, but I have been in a shuttle. I would guess it is 30 minutes or less.

Go buy your dog a Disney collar!

A collar for the dog is the ONLY souvenir you bought?? I could never come out with just one souvenir (even as much as I love my dog!)!!!!

    The Indiana Jones Poll

I agree to some extent that WDW needs new rides, not clones, in reality most people only visit one park or the other, not both on a regular basis. I visit both every year, and I don't get tired of either one or the rides. I think something needs to be done with the Indy stunt show, maybe just...

    Weight

I have never heard of any restrictions based on weight. I go with my aunt on occasion and she probably weighs more than you and she hasn't had any problems. I would guess as long as you can safely fit in the seat with whatever restraint they might have (bar, seatbelt, etc) you should be able...

    Good hotels around DL?

If you can afford the Grand Californian I would recommend it. It is so much more magical to stay on property. Check out travel websites like cheaptickets and expedia. I booked a theme park view at the GC for about $80 less per night on cheaptickets than disney quoted.

    Need ideas for first trip

If you can afford it, stay at a DL resort. Much more magical than the holiday inn! Make sure you do CA. It gets a bad rap, and does need some more attractions, but it's worth doing. Don't miss Soarin' over California! Excellent ride which will soon be opening at WDW.

    Big Thunder Mountain is BACK!

Glad to hear that it reopened. I won't hesitate to ride again. It's safer than driving on the highway!!

    Used Quick Silver?

I have always used Mears, because it seemed cheaper. There is only 2 in my party, and I sounds like those of you who have posted here have larger groups. Anyone travel with only 2? How much did you pay? We usually pay less than $60 for mears round trip. Just curious..

Mears just from WDW to Orlando Int'l Airport

I have used Mears several times. The wait time at the airport to get to the hotel can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 45 minutes and you usually have to share with other people going to other WDW resorts. Pickup from the hotel to the airport is usually right on schedule.

Worried about Food & Wine Festival

Good question. I will be at WDW at the same time (Sept. 29-Oct. 5) and had not thought about the crowds being that much bigger. I am glad to hear that they shouldn't be too bad!
