Bob Chapek's response to Florida's 'Don't Say Gay' bill

Both sides of this issue are claiming moral superiority. Both sides have tens of millions of passionate supporters. Neither side is going away quietly. Regardless of what I think on the issue, this is a total fail by Chapek, etc. to pick a side (and still manage to infuriate many people on...

    NBA Experience at Disney Springs

Disney themed escape rooms. Not sure I would want to do them while at WDW but could see them in a few cities across the country. If in WDW, this would be the space. We enjoy these so much and think Disney could take them to the next level.

Yep to the last point. I haven't seen this level of low morale in healthcare workers in the 20 years I’ve been in the industry. It’s getting really ugly. Just getting a bare bones level of staffing in some areas is difficult.

    Park Capacity

I have no inside info, but parks were packed mid-July. Would not use the recent slower period as evidence of reduced capacity.

News Walt Disney World to resume sales of Annual Passes (New sales resume April 20, 2023)

The theme of the Chapek Disney experience continues: Pay more and get less.

What would be your splurge merch purchase if money was (sort of) no object?

I’d probably head to the Wyland gallery. So many great pieces to choose from

    NBA Experience at Disney Springs

There’s probably a top ten list of dumb moves somewhere on these boards. If not, it might be therapeutic to see. For me, while there are other things I care far more about (EPCOT), building this is up there near the top. Bad concept from the start.

That’s good. Hopefully tighter than Lollapalooza. I know several people that went to Lolla that said you could hold up any piece of paper and call it a vaccination card.

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

Don’t underestimate the power of people doing dumb things with their money. It’s nowhere near an enticing price point for me, but I’d be shocked if this doesn’t sell out quickly.

Tell that to the family of the 26 year old I intubated Sunday night. He refused to get vaccinated and is now dead.

There are way more than 35,000 breakthrough cases at this point. Vaccinated people haven’t been getting tested as much the last couple months.

I saw that and almost posted it too. Booster results are quite interesting. Potential for ”100 fold increase in delta neutralization post 3rd dose.” Sounds impressive. But… only 23 people in study, not peer reviewed, presented at earnings conference… Will wait and see if that data holds up.

    The Tipping Point For Change

During this last trip, our bus driver clipped another car when leaving the poly station. We had an ADR at Raglan Road and it was already tight. There was minimal damage and nobody hurt. But protocol stated we all had to stay in bus, fill out a demographic form, and wait for a special extra...

I bet we would see close to that here if we kept testing at a high rate. But we aren’t testing vaccinated people as much anymore so won’t see the true case numbers. And that’s ok.

    The Tipping Point For Change

Just finished another trip. Have been going almost yearly since the early 80s. We had a fun time and there have been some very positive changes since our 2019 trip: Skyliner Mobile ordering (when MDE works) Security checkpoints ROTR (if you can get a boarding group) Having said that, this...

Good news. Its burning through FL right now. I spent last week at WDW. Totally subjective on my part but heard lots more coughs and sneezes at the end of my trip than the beginning. My entire family came down with sore throat/congestion over the past 2 days, as we were leaving. Pretty mild...

My hospital system (roughly 7700 employees, not counting independent physicians) has just made the decision to join the growing list of healthcare systems mandating vaccination for all employees and physicians. I’m happy with the move, but it will be interesting. We currently still sit at only...

Be Our Guest or Skipper Canteen for dinner?

Skipper is so much cheaper at this point, has a creative menu, (usually) fun staff, and cool atmosphere. BOG has nice theming, but I will never eat there again with the current setup.
