  • Toot toot! ha ha! I'll toot it for you! Would you be working at the one at Town Center? That would be hysterical because I live about 5 minutes from there LOL Actually people with your strength of enthusiasm is JUST what Disney Stores need! You'd be great! Plus you know something pretty much about everything Disney so perfect match! I hope you get it.

I've starting putting together a Disney bag of stuff for Linds to give to her the day we leave. I bought a beach bag sized carry bag (pink of course LOL) with Mickey on both sides and have put a tinker bell notebook in it for notes, 4 of the larger disney pens for writing or autograph use (1.00 w/free shipping on ebay), an LED light fan (very cool 3.99 on ebay), a princess tin (from ebay of course 1.99 lol) that i'll put a gift card in...will also throw in some snacks, some disney disposables cameras for her and a toy story 3 dsi game.....just small stuff but she'll get a kick out of it.
I guess anywhere you go you're going to get the good, the bad, and the ugly! As a picky eater were you happy with Y&Y?

That seems to be the general rule...also that the MK is least crowded on Wednesdays, though I'm sure that's not the case anymore. Do you use Extra Magic Hours?

 Quite true. But then again, with that kind of job I can't blame them! (Plus the airline we use is Spirit- a super-budget one. I don't imagine they get paid very well!)
We usually do Magical Express when we leave, but we try to make the departure as quick, easy, and unsentimental as possible. (Of course, we're always moody by the time we get to the airport LOL.)

I've heard Yak and Yeti was the worst CS in any theme park, though I'm not sure if I believe that. I guess I'll have to try!

45 minutes for Soarin'?? That's....a miracle! You guys are very fortunate. Another thing that dictates crowds is the days you go on. I never used to think it makes that much of a difference but it really does. Everytime we went to the Magic Kingdom this week it was packed, but when I went by myself on a Tuesday night, it was a veritable ghost town (and the crowds were forecasted to be on a level of seven, or something high like that.) How do you choose which days you go to the parks?
That would be pretty cool if you get the job! As a self proclaimed Disney Fanatic, how could they ever turn you down! lol

Ditto on the being away from everyone and everything thing (lol) I love it. I park my car at the resort and it sits there for 8 days. It doesn't move. I'm engrossed and don't have a care in the world - literally! lol It's like being lost in time. However, I notice each evening my smile "hurts" from smiling so much LOL Linds is the same way. But when she crashes each night - she crashes hard. I can actually say though, it is the one time...the one week where I DON'T have any trouble waking her up in the morning - ha ha!
Thank you! Alas it's bittersweet to be back i real life but unfortunately life can't be all about the mouse.

I think you're confusing Barry (the lawyer, he's very good!) with Gene (the private eye) LOL.

I've heard nothing but good about Jiko...I hope you find something you like there! If not, there's a zillion other places to eat at WDW. Have you ever had a bad dining experience? I've heard horror stories (and witnessed one at Blizzard Beach!)

I'm trying to work our trip so it bleeds into early Sept...the crowds only get lighter as school draws nearer. Here's to hoping!
jI never understood the Gene Parmesan jokes (is that who you're referring to?) I remekber Lucille's "GEEEEENE!!!"

We've eaten at Boma before and love it. I'm a picky eater and I love it as well. I think you would like it, too. The food is quite flavorful!

We're home now...I wound up going alone to the MK but had a great time! When are you guys plannig to go?
If you go work for the Disney Store, I need to use your employee discount LOL

I'm wondering if this heat is ever going away - ugh! Just got our latest electric bill. I can't say what I want to on here but it was HIGH ($397 high - yikes!!!) We rent the house but it's 2800 SF.....room mate is having a cow LOL I am ready for Fall. Heck, I'm ready for Winter. Actually I'm ready for my trip LMAO!
I KNOW! I saw your post and was like that is AWESOME! $1300 is a ton of money to save - I'm very excited for you! I like the GC also! Hey $200 is $200 I say (lol) Lindsay and I sat down and decided it will pay for our dinner at Cali Grill @ the Contemporary (heck, that's good for about 1/2 of it LOL) and the other 1/2 for our Thanksgiving at Biergarten...after both of those are said and done, I may have about $30 left on it for whatever Lindsay wants.....or I may just use it for one of our counter service meals. She pretty much gets what she wants anyways ha ha! YES we take Disney shirts! Linds has a boat load. I have 2 good ones and I will get another while I'm there so then I'll have 3. I buy the really good Hanes ones at the resorts and they last forever - I love them!
If AD has any flaws, it's that the humor was way too intelligent for the masses. Barry Zuckercorn jumping over a shark seems random to most people, but the allusion is priceless. (Plus Scott Baio replacing Henry Winkler as the Bluths' attorney.

Those discounts sound tantalizing! I can't wait to take advantage of them. :D

We really did make the most of our last day...we went over to DHS to tie up loose ends (ToT was great!) but we missed the Indy show...again. We skipped lunch for the expressed reason we are eating at Boma tonight, and since wehave a late reservation, we were going to call it a day after that....but thanks to WDWMAGIC Live, I learned operating hours were extended at the MK...so guess what we're doing. ;)
We've been attempting amusing ride photos...on Space Mountain we looked at a camera and did a thumbs up...other families were taking pictures of our picture!

What I love about AD is that it makes fun of everyone...but not offensively. Not many other shows can do that these days!

We stupidly didn't apply any discounts this time...but for future trips we will. How deep are they usually?
"And I've never felt this way before...." :lookaroun

Today is our last full day in the parks. I think we'll hit up MGM, and I'll go on ToT for the first time in five years.

LOL excellent idea! I just wish more people would understand the joke. ;)

I think when we crunched numbers DDP didn't workout...butyou can't beat saving $1200! Thanks for the summary, I think we may have to reconsider!
LMAO, you are too funny! Who doesn't need a Europe cd in their collection anyway?

Free dining is available through most of next year (naturally there are some blackout dates) and depending on where you stay will affect which DP you get. Staying at a value hotel gets you the QS DP but I believe staying at Mod or Deluxe gets you the regular DP. QS is two QS meals/1 snack per person/per day. The reg DP is 1 QS/1 sit-down/1 snack per person/per day. It's a great deal, we've been very fortunate that Reg. DP has been offered every time we've gone. Last time and next year we've upgraded and paid the difference for the deluxe DP. I don't think we'd go w/o a DP. There are a lot of good restaurants there. Mmmmm......
What's the gist of free dining? I've heard lots about it but I'm clueless!

Nope, not a yellow shirt, but that's a good idea, though! I feel I should have a boombox on hand to play Final Countdown at thoae key moments!
Also, do you use discounts when going? I'm looking to amortize the cost of staying at the Contemporary, and since we've never applied a discount before, I'm curious as to what to do.
Southerners will never understand the pizza thing. Maybe it's the water!

Wow, that must've been interesting! Were the hotel guests rowdy? I've heard nothing beats the excitement of driving to WDW...mostly entering the purple gates into the Promise Land!

Interestingly enough, today I wore my "Bluth's Original Frozen Banana" tshirt with "Mr. Manager" on the back. The only comment I received was today when exiting the MK...a greeter exclaimed "I LOVE your shirt!" It made my day.
Update -- I got off the phone with Priscilla who applied the free dining to our trip and saved us over $1200! In shock because that's more than I thought but also very, very happy! Yay!
Yep, I looked this morning and it looks like the only things offered right now for the time of our trip is free dining, but heck, we'll definitely take that! You know I'm excited, LOL!

That's awesome! Can you get free dining then or is that combining two different packages? Either way, you have something that will help you on your trip and for that I'm very happy for you!
Wanted to update you! It only saved me $122 to take the 25% off the value resort and if I upgraded to a moderate...even with the 30% off I would have to pay $275 more SO I took the $200 gift card for my trip - yeah! And hopefully by now you have looked on mousesavers.com or read all about the discounts here on this site. We are very excited!
Yep I heard that too - like buy 4 get 3 free with a gift card based on where you stay....room discounts..you name it, it's floating around in rumor land LOL But Len Teska from touring plans is usually pretty close to the mark so fingers crossed!!! And NO it's not silly - I'm just dying over here waiting for tomorrow a.m. LOL i'll be online at 530 when I wake up to see if it's posted yet....buy 4 get 3 free can DEFINITELY go moderate am quite sure! Now the big question - do I want too? I may get a preferred room at a value and I'm actually thinking of changing to AS Music now LOL OR Sports...crap I don't know!!! LOL

I would LOVE to go for Christmas but I get the feeling when I do...i'll be by myself. Lindsay wants to be near "Aunt Sandy" at the holidays (my sis) They are real close since her father hasn't seen her in 4 years and I don't talk to my folks...long stories like I said. Maybe one day Aunt Sandy will come with us - then I know she'll go!
"Dominos" and "real pizza" shouldn't be in the same sentence! Kidding aside, bagels aren't really anything the South does well, either. (When we werr in the Florida Keys, there was a pizzeria called "Boardwalk Pizza" that served up some pretty decent pizza. The owner was from NJ, as they have a poster from Jersey Boys, and the place was filled with NJ signage and curios (like Parkway/Turnpike signage).

When you guys go to WDW, do you drive there? It seems like a good distance, but maybe too close to fly there.
