  • I actually looked into Concentra when all of "this" first started up and opted for the Aderall because they doc thought that would work better for Lindsay's particular situation. They are all pretty much the same I think...well, except for Ritalin. They tried that and I took her off of it after 2 months - talk about zombie! I was like no way Jose...it's like she isn't even IN there!

I've been bidding on ebay (yep I'm bad! LOL) that's where I get alot of my Disneyana stuff. I collect plates, mugs, photos, old Disney albums and books, etc etc...one day when I pass..Linds will have a great collection and I HOPE and pray she appreciates it as much as I do lol Anyways, I'm bidding on a refurbished GPS. I want one SOOO bad so hopefully my little $41 bid hangs on for 24 more minutes ha ha ha! It's an Insignia NS Nav-01 with a 4.3 inch screen and comes with everything...original box, car mounts, car charger, book, SD card, bracket etc etc...so keep your fingies crossed!
I'll have to try this Tootsie Roll drink, and thanks for the tip about Pizza Planet! I wanted to check it out, and I heard it uses fresh ingredients and everything...I guess the quality has taken a turn for the worst since then. I'm sorry to hear your experience wasn't up-to-par, though. Sadly some things are only learned through experience!

Another subjective thing to take with a grain of salt is wait times. When I went last August, we never waited more than 20 minutes for anything. However, people going in that time period three, four, or more years ago often have different experiences, so it's difficult to book a vacation based on hearsay.

And yes, like you it takes a lot for me to complain to a manager or something like that if something is really wrong. The part of the family I'm travelling with is very much like this, but I have other family members who will go back into McDonalds and complain for the simplest things. I guess you can't please everyone!
That's interesting that you had a great experience with DDP. It's amazing that people have such radically different experiences to different things at WDW (which is why when I read reviews for places, I take them with a grain of salt because there are often two extremes.) Have you found reception to the DDP to be positive or negative?

Have you guys tried the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream yet? I've heard that if you finish it, you get it free!
    Previous message was too long...continuing:
Of course, for every family it's different (we don't like sit-down breakfasts, etc.) but that's just us. Another thing that got us on the DDP was the lack of choice, and being spontaneous people, having what we could eat set out for us in advance wouldn't work, plus we don't really eat our money's worth in food everyday. Do you use DDP?
I don't leave until Thursday (early, early) morning so I still have a ways to go!

Wow, so many shows to see! :D It gives me hope that not everything on TV is trash anymore (now if they could just cancel American Idol after it's 543th season...). Regardless, I'll be checking out Flight of the Concords!

And we don't use the DDP. The representative really tried to get us to buy it when we were on the phone with Reservations a few days ago, but we find it impractical and a bit of a hassle. We like to stay club level when we go, which we find to be both a convenience and to some extent, a money-saver. When we used concierge for free breakfast, we wound up saving a good deal of money. In the afternoon and evenings, we further saved money on overpriced snacks and lunch in the parks by eating out of concierge.
Lindsay is in 7th this yr - her bday is 5/25-- too weird about the ADHD/ADD thing....You will see a HUGE diff in Tristan-! I was amazed w/Lindsay-.she still gets frustrated at times but usually when she is coming off her meds I give her some coca cola & the caffeine brings her down-.her psychologist taught us that - she takes 15 mg of adderall xr 1x/day. What does Tristan take? all her docs have said the same thing about focusing on everything. They have too much going on upstairs & it causes them to run amuck--it's nice to share this with somebody who understands-.I get so worried because the experts say kids with adhd will be sexually active earlier - be more apt to fit in (until linds started her meds...she would always be off by herself) try drugs, alcohol etc- I & her Aunt have drilled it in to her no drugs, alcohol, smoking, ______! LOL She's a good girl & will be ok as long as we keep instilling it positively...plus her best buddy Savannah is a good girl too so I have faith!
I'll look that up on NBC.com or DVR it. It seems like one of those shows I should be watching, but I'm not! (I find Tracy Morgan hilarious, especially when he was hosting SNL.)

We've never stawyed at the AKL before, but after eating at Boma two years ago we fell in love with the place. I hope your tax returns come out well for you all!
Lindsay's first couple of days were fine thanks! She of course once again this year says her Science teacher is mean...but we went thru this last year too...she'd go to the nurses office complaining she didn't feel good RIGHT before 4th period (it falls around lunch?) anyways trying to get out of Science...this year she cant' do that.....it's her last class! LOL She has severe ADHD but is on MILD meds....they started her off so high about 4 years ago she lost like 18 pounds in 6 weeks! So i made them cut way back....she is perfect! and her grades are awesome so I'm happy!
I hope that you guys will be able to stay at the Poly! Wherever you stay, you're bound to enjoy your vacation, though.

I have heard about 30 Rock that Alec Baldwin really is a genius in that show. I guess I should watch it more intently to really understand the humor. (It took me a while to get into Arrested Development, and look what happend!)

LOL I've been starting to exclaim "COME ON!" around other people. No one really gets the reference but it's an appropriate way to release frustration.
I DO like the new calendar! We always go to WDW the week of November so I didn't have to worry about taking Linds out of school at all that week but through the year (at least once anyways) I always try and fit in a quickie cheapie trip (lol) last year it was Tybee Island for 4 nights.....this year it is "supposed" to be Myrtle Beach for 4 nights and even though I got that at $402 for the 4 nights, and that includes taxes....because of all the other stuff going on with work....I am pricing out a 3 night trip (again Beach time LOL) and looking at Tybee ( I may actually finally get to stay at the DeSoto for $300!! woo hoo LOL) or maybe even Panama City Beach which is probably dirt cheap right now....anyways we'll see. It all depends on how stuff pans out at work but I like the new calendar. Plus if we don't go away at all in September....we can do 2 day trips or something for inexpensive :)
We're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We're very excited about it, but will be our last visit for three years, at least.

That's true about the lowest common denominator. Most shows will go to dirty humor to get quick laughs, and it's difficult to be funny and clean. Thankfully Modern Family (and to some extent, Arrested Development) accomplish this.
It's been agonizing outside for sure! I had to leave work at 1230 and take Lindsay and her best friend to the school meet and greet. It was PACKED!!! Which meant the school was packed which meant the school was hot!!! LOL Then locating classrooms, teachers, etc etc - her school (Palmer Middle) is like the biggest thing I've ever seen! LOL Anyways got that done...came home for about 45 minutes and then took her to the doc because her throat has been bothering her. No strep (thank goodness) just a "virus" which means they can't give her anything and maybe since school starts tomorrow it's a figment! LOL you know...of her imagination ha ha ha!
My next trip is in...one week! I can't wait!

I believe Cam's name is Eric Stonestreet. He's a great character actor. Hopefully they keep it up next season!
I agree with you totally. I think Phil is the best character in the show (with Luke and Manny as runners-up. The show is so intelligently casted and everything just fits. (Plus, I think we all know a family like the one depicted on TV.)
I think I'll rent the first season of Mad Men and check it out. Thanks for the tip! :awave:

:ROFLOL: Modern Family definitely has its great moments. I loved when Phil made a reference to Say Anything, but Dylan starts shouting out things like "newspaper" and "good morning". Another favorite is when Phil is teaching Claire how to operate the thermostat and he starts singing a song about it.
OH sorry about losing that $20 - I have done that several times and I officially chalk it up to my age...you CAN'T do that! LOL I look at it this way...you can only do what you can do. Like Palmer is telling us..."please let your child ride the bus Thursday to avoid afternoon pickup confusion" - uh NO! I always drop off - her Aunt always picks up. I'm not going to worry about busing her to school for one stinking day and that's a fact!!! ha ha ha! So they'll have to get over it....sorry!!! (lol) YES the ovens were very cool! I want one of those ha ha!

Trust me - it will get worked out one way or another LOL

I'm hotter then hades today! Plus I drive a black car inside and out - doesn't help :)
I believe one of the writers of Arrested Development (Abraham Higginbotham) is a writer for Modern Family now. Mind you, they both have very different kinds of humor but both are a hilarity. A family member of mine watches The Mentalist and loves it. I think I'm going to try watching Mad Men, is it really as good as people say it is?

The only reality show we ever got into was The Amazing Race. We followed it for a while but aren't as hyped up about it as much as we once were. (Gosh, there really isn't a anything good on TV anymore, is there? Or maybe I should be watching it more...)
Italian is my favorite too! LOVE IT! Via Napoli looks beautiful & if we can stop in & get a slice .we'll go for it. I didn't do any ADR's for it & it looks very pricey to me but you never know. After a talk with one of my superiors yesterday, it appears the bonus I thought we were getting...the bigger superior appears to be "keeping" which means unless I get a room discount of 20-30% off...I have NO clue how I'm going to pay off my trip. Is it do-able? Yes if I cancel our September Myrtle Beach trip and take the couple hundred down I put on that and put it on Disney....then cut more corners and such....but this has definitely put a glitch in my plans AND kind of ticked me off. How can I go from a non revenue department where I had GREAT bonuses....to a revenue producing department that MADE 10% profit last quarter (and the company had a record quarter also!) and only get 1/4 of what I should be making...I'll keep you posted as today or tomorrow I'm pinning his butt down! LOL
    Which scene was it?

As for other shows, there has not been a show like Arrested Development that I enjoyed so much. There's not too many shows that are the intelligent-kind-of-funny that AD was. That said, I love Seinfeld, but also enjoy Modern Family, NCIS, The Office, and Cheers. What about you?
We wound up buying the first season on DVD, and after finishing that we purchased the second season, and likewise for the third season. It was well worth it. The DVDs have bonus features such as a blooper reel for Seasons Two and Three (very funny), and the first season set has the original music composed for the show, and they all have a fair amount of extras.

I recently put the three seasons of the show on my computer, so I can watch it wherever I go. Maybe I'm too much of an obsessed fan, but I like having the ability to watch my favorite scenes whenever I can. I also managed to obtain an unofficial soundtrack to the show, which is a lot of fun to listen to. (i.e. Big Yellow Joint song)
