  • Mine are...typical, but here they are:
    - From Airplane!, Robert Hays, and Julie Hagerty in the cockpit and Leslie Nielsen coming in and saying, "I just want to tell you both good luck. We're all counting on you."
    - From My Cousin Vinny, the final courtroom scene. I'd love to see an animatronic Joe Pesci.
    - Instead of the Alien scene, it would be re-purposed to fit the final chase scene from The Fugitive, with Harrison Ford hiding.
    - From Ferris Bueller's Day Off, "Twist and Shout".
    - When the FBI "invades" the betting parlor in The Sting.
    - The Ooompa-Loompa scene from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Unfortunately I haven't seen any ofhte movies you listed yet, but I'm sure they'd be great! I can't believe you haven't seen Citizen Kane or Casablanca! The AFI lists those as some of the top movies of all time! LOL. (I've been trying to watch movies by working my way up the list of top 100 movies...it's been very slow going  )
It's scary the two of us are such "we have a lot in common" Disney dorks! LOL I actually find it kind of interesing. You weren't adopted were you??? We could be related. And yes, I'm messing with you. But we do have a lot in common - that's a gimme!!! ha ha ha!

Downtown Disney...well went there 2 years ago the evening we arrived. We actually ate at Planet Hollywood but unless you get the $15 voucher from Disney when you book the Magic Your Way Package, it's a bit expensive in my eyes. Very loud and very crowded. Even with the $15 voucher towards mine and Lindsay's meal...it was close to $30 so forget that one LMAO! We went in and walked around T Rex. VERY cool! Loved the atmosphere and such but again...expensive in my eyes. If you go onto allears.net they list out restaurants with menus and pricing by park, resort, DT Disney, etc etc...maybe something will tweak your interest there!
Well my days stay pretty much the same because I base them on touring plans website numbers, extra magic hours or not, park attendance and such. So far I've been dead on as far as keeping crowd numbers as low as possible but of course I have touring plans to thank! LOL However we DO eat at different places with maybe only 1 or 2 repeats during the whole trip. This year it's 50's PT Cafe and SciFi Drive in as repeats....everything else is brand spanking new. PLUS since this is only our 3rd Annual Lisa and Lindsay's Disney Adventure Trip (yes I know dorky LOL) we have so many many MANY more eat out experiences to go...heck I have enough for at least another 5 years of trips if not more :-) IF i come into some extra money this year (and I don't see it happening) I'm probably going to throw us into the car Friday (instead of Saturday a.m.), drive like crazy and wish for Mickey's christmas party but it's doubtful lol
You know, until I read your message I thought Spinal Tap was a real band, too! LOL I'll be sure to check it out. Have you ever seen Casablanca or Citizen Kane? Those are some true classics.

I made a thread about this a while ago, but what movie scene would you like to see in the Great Movie Ride?
Free lodging is always good but yes I doubt Disney will EVER do that! LOL I wish though too! OH free lodging instead of free dining - now THAT I like! ha ha!

I was born in Hackensack, NJ - I think I told you that before but haven't been back since I was 16 so longgggg ago. Have been to Charleston - like it but don't love it. If I'm driving 4 hours..I'm heading to Savannah although I may do a quickie trip for their February break or maybe April spring break to Gatlinburg. have been to pigeon forge but not gatlinburg - go figure!

Probably a no to Universal for Harry Potter. I drive 7 hours down, park my car and it doesn't move for my 8 days LMAO! I'm scared to go anywhere else. Now I DO Have the GPS but nah probably won't try it even with that!!! lol I have parks lined out (I get base tickets) from Sunday thru Saturday a.m. with rezzies, parade and fireworks times, special show times, etc etc. Can't venture off that path I guess!
Thanks for the suggestions! You know, at a restaurant I'm always tempted to say "I'll have what she's having" (I love using movie/TV quotes and obscure pop culture references that no one else seems to understand) but I've never actually seen the movie before. That, and There's Something About Mary is something I've been meaning to see, but haven't gotten around to, yet. (The same with The Hangover...I've heard very good things about it. Have you heard of it?)
Yes we take our one big expensive trip at Thanksgiving (lol) I try and fit a mini trip in during the year but it's usually only a 3 or 4 night trip. Like this year took Linds to Savannah for 3 nights BUT one of the guys I work with gave me the 3 nights lodging with his points - all my techs travel constantly so they rack them up fast and once in a while, if you sweet talk them, you can get a few nights lodging out of them! LOL So we only had to worry about food, gas and tourist stuff.
I've seen the beginning, but that's it. :lookaroun You've never seen Christmas Story!? That's a classic! (Then again, I guess Elf is, too!)

I'll have to look up Carol Burnett's show. I love me a good parody!

Speaking of movies, any suggestions? I just saw The Commitments and All of Me; both were outstanding!
Gotta agree on your Will Ferrel point. (And to be honest...I've never seen Elf. :lookaroun ) I do enjoy the Christmas Story though (the Je.sus one and the "You'll shoot your eye out!" one.)
My family, who watches more movies than I usually do, pointed out Michael Cera usually plays himself in all of his movies. I've heard in Juno he plays a similar character, but I haven't seen that movie yet.

You'll fall in love with the Poly (or anyhotel you stay at, I guess!) I'm glad to hear that the Animation is getting nicely themed; but I 'm not sure if I would stay at value/moderates just yet due to the transportation issues.
FIRST OFF CONGRATS ON THE INTERVIEW! My fingers are crossed for you! That's great! Valium will def help. Just don't drink coffee before you go! LOL

I thought $2400 didn't sound too bad. it's a caribbean cruise...the itinerary is of course Thanksgiving week next year...Sat depart Port Canaveral, Sun & Mon at sea, Tues St Maarten, Wed St Thomas and St John, Thurs at sea, Fri at Castaway Cay, Sat back to Port Canaveral. So IF I can swing $500 down AND I can pay it off 80 days prior (that's a lot of time ahead of time lol) it's do-able. I just don't think I can do that with those high maintenance restrictions (lol) so I'll wait and see what Aloha Travel offers me January as far as Hawaii. I used to live there and have been dying to go back!
You can't go wrong with the Polynesian! I wish I could visit there again to appreciate it more. I'm a sucker for a good water feature, and the Polynesian puts me in paradise.

I think the fact that you're going in late September already guarantees little to no crowds LOL. Have you seen the pictures being posted around lately? Frontierland was deserted at midday! Five minute waits for Big Thunder and Splash with virtually no one in the park! (This is why I'm pushing for an August 26th-September 2nd date for our trip...though we're a few months off from making a decision. There would be people here, but not nearly as ghostly and empty.)

That skit still manages to make me laugh, too. When Will Ferrel goes into his monologue "and I'd be doing myself a dis-service..." the players just lose it. I love it! Unfortunately I've never seen the Carol Burnett show. I do love watching blooper reels from shows and movies...it's great as a reminder that actors are human, too!
We've stayed at most of the deluxes (save for Swan and Dolphin, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, and for now, the Contemp). I have a feeling after the Contemp we'll be staying at some moderates. You all will absolutely love the Beach Club. I've been there twice and it has always exceeded my expectations...I wish I could live there! You don't have to worry about getting a room with a view, you can't really go wrong anywhere! You can walk to EPCOT/MGM or hit up EPCOT in the morning and ride out on the monorail to the Magic Kingdom...it's amazing! :D Have a great time! (And by the way, once our family all had matching Hawaiian/Mickey shirts. I still have mine. I can post a picture of the shirt if you like, and you can get the product number.)

We've never done a hard-ticket (Halloween/Christmas) event, but I've always wanted to...especially at Christmas (but we'd never, ever go then unless it was in early December). I heard you can go trick or treating at the Haloween event!
That is TOO funny! I was watching - you were there! LOL Sandy is a HUGE Nascar fan. I think she'd have Jeff Gordon's child if she could!!! and if he weren't married of course LOL She has every piece of Gordon paraphenalia out there I swear! So she got me and Linds into it...my man is Jimmy Johnson - he rocks! LOL We all agree on one thing though....The Busch's need to GET KNOCKED OFF OF EACH AND EVERY TRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO! We tolerate Kurt (he's gotten nicer with age) but we deplore Kyle ha ha ha! Was hoping like hell he'd get knocked out last night - he is such a donkey's butt!!! lol I don't like drivers with that kind of "I'm the best....every thing that happens is everybody elses fault" drivers....hey dude take some responsibiity!!! WOW don't get me going on him lol

OH talking to a lady from one of the cruise line websites....is $2400 for a 7 night cruise (Disney cruise) expensive for me & Linds do you think? that covers everything including food - what do you think?
Good morning - just stopped by to say Happy Labor Day! Sandy, Lindsay and I took the dog (Shiloh) and went over to Kennesaw Battlefield yesterday off Burnt Hickory and went for a nice 3 mile walk thru the trails - starting to ramp up the walking everyday officially yesterday in prep for the trip! It was absolutely gorgeous yesterday. Lots of people walking the trails...Shiloh had two male boxers trying to pick her up - she's a boxer also LOL They were HUGE!! She was like oh yeah...I'm going with them - NOT! LOL The trails are very shady because of all the trees so it was a nice relaxing walk. Left, got Zaxby's cup of chicken salad, came home, placed 1/2 said cup of chicken salad on one of those 100 calories sandwich rounds and watched the race woo hooo LOL
I've never stayed at a hotel I would never stay at again, but I feel the need to explore other properties before staying there again. If we can afford it next year, we're planning on staying at the Contem. We're a fan of the lush flora at the Poly or GF, so we're anxious to see what the CR offers us, but it's the one hotel that we need to stay at.
We were also considering the Wilderness Lodge, but in 2012 we're planning on going back to Disneyland (and staying at the Grand Californian there), so going from the Grand Californian in '09, to the AKL in '10, to the WL in '11, and back at the GC in '12 would be too much similar theming for our tastes, which is why we're holding off on the Wilderness Lodge for a bit. Some of my family won't stay at the GF again (at least any time soon), but there's nothing I can do about that, I guess. We won't be staying at the Boardwalk anytime soon, either (because we can drive down for an hour and see the real thing;)). What about yourself?
I think we'll need a Sequoia tree for all of the wood we're knocking on right now! Thankfully we haven't had any incidents of illness, but we've had a few roadblocks. When we were at Disneyland last year, a family member of mine got motion sick/felt ill and was out for the rest of the day. This was later diagnosed as epilepsy (which almost caused us to cancel our vacation this time around, but that's another story.)

As a side note, it's funny how our touring plans have changed over the years. Maybe it's because we've stayed at the Beach Club (which has the best pool at any hotel I've stayed at ) but we used to go back to the hotel to swim a lot. Now that things have changed, and we've gone with different family members over the years, on the last trip I only went in the pool at 12am.
For the time of year we went Teppan Edo was loud and busy BUT it was a blast! Loved it and the food and the overall atmosphere that although that hussled and bussled (lol) you weren't rushed, the chefs at the table were great and fun and the food yummy!

My roomie is actually my best friend - we've known each other about 25 years now...Lindsay refers to her as Aunt Sandy, I introduced her to her husband (although they've been separated several years now and eventually will divorce but have remained friends lol) we've been through alot together and she adores Linds so all is good!

They have to be generally censoring certain words because i should be able to type ________ clark....it just won't let me. Hell it would even let me type h e l l LOL
Thankfully your incidents were only for a day and you made the most out of it! *Knock on wood*

:ROFLOL: I haven't played Scrabble in ages. But I'll have to do something about that...

What would be your contingency plan should *knock on wood* one of your family members be out for an extended period of time? (I think I just jinxed it.)
Funny thing is it did let me type it but when I previewed the message prior to posting it all it did was _______________ Clark LMAO! I was like you have got to be kidding me!!! LOL My roomie actually gives me the big photo albums from Walmart every year for Christmas as one of my gifts so I pretty much know I have tons of rooms for pics!

Crazy expensive - YES! Although your boys could in essence split something if need be but since you are on the DDP, no worries! Have you done the Garden Grill at Epcot? That's fun with Chip, Dale, Mickey and Pluto and the food was pretty good too. 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian was awesome. We also love Teppan Edo but it's noisy! LOL
Exactly! I love my photo albums! I just find them more personable and I can flip through them any time I want - like right now!!! LOL I have the types that hold close to 600 photos...they are large and blue and kinda cool because there is a spot for a photo on the front cover - the one from 08 has the walt statue and mickey in front of the castle....last years is a photo of linds and walt's "talking" head (sort of lol) from DHS - you know the heads that are all lined up that look like they came out of haunted mansion! betty white, richard clark (it wouldn't let me type his real name??? LMAO!) , walt etc etc!

Cali Grill is expensive as heck so I am hoping for free dining for you - wait, you already have it don't you? lol
