  • Very true...you have to attribute a good size of Conan's popularity to his looks. Most of the people on TV you see look normal, nothing that would cause you to do a double take. Not so with Conan.

Hmm...interesting question! There were certainly parts of the MK that were dingy and not well-maintained...not necessarily Six Flags standards, but enough to make me reflect on the Disney that so many people grew up with...(the one that replaced lightbulbs before they went out. The Magic Kingdom had the worst maintenance, in my opinion. Then again, it's nothing like Six Flags or anything glaring, but if you visited a lot and looked for bad maintenance, you'd see it.
1st YEAH on 1 year from today - that's a reality kick for sure :) 2nd OMG I was thinking of applying but i have like zero extra time BUT i know if you get chosen you also get trip(s) on disney for 'educational' purposes LOL I've tried talking my sister into applying...i mean the girl goes about 6x a year! and SHE is a bonified 150% expert on all things disney LOL she knows every in and every out possible...it's amazing!

I had trouble trying to make online payments...i would get all the way to hit process, hit the button and it brought me back to the main page...after that happened 2x i officially now call in my payments!

You did awesome at Kohls' too. I love that store - hate to shop but love the store! LOL
I'm so glad you found the shirt! That is too cool. Did you check ebay also for the kids hawaiian shirts? I BET they have those too! LOL Not sure about RF Cafe...I thought it was on the plan at one time but can't be certain - i'm sorry!

OK my story of the night. 1st Kohls is now hiring PT seasonal help (LOL) Figured I'd pass that along. The one on 41 in Acworth. We shop there ALL the time! Ok so last night I have to find a pair of dress slacks and nice top for a wedding tomorrow - my cubicle buddie is getting married. Walk in to clearance rack and find a pair of dress slacks for $12 and a dress shirt for $10.60 - woo hoo my kind of shopping but it gets better. I pay for 1 item sandy pays for the other. Why you ask? (LOL) we both had $10 off coupons we got in the email so my whole outfit WITH taxes only cost $2.97 LMAO!!!!!!!!! Is that not hysterical! Yeah Kohls! lol
I haven't turned on my computer in two days so I've been posting from my phone, which is difficult to respond to visitor messages from...rest assured I'll have it by tomorrow. :)
OMG I sooo want that waffle iron! LOL it is too cute! and every and any dish i can get my hands on please...a huge plethera of whatever (god i hope i spelled that right! LMAO!) yeah just throw it in front of me and I'll probably buy it LOL - 65 days from today woohoo!!! Lindsay actual smiled this morning when I told her that....there is hope! lol
I'm not a big Eeyore fan either...actually the whole "pooh" thing LOL BUT took Linds to Crystal Palace for breakfast 2 years ago with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet and she seemed happy...but don't pursue it if you catch my drift!

Well I have my book case in my room with a bunch of collectible Disney stuff on it, a framed photo of Mickey Mouse from God knows when (lol) and my purse (which is not really a purse...it's more of a beach bag looking thing but way too nicely decorated for the beach LOL) has Mickey and rhinestones on it...got it from Avon - I guess that counts as decorating ME ha ha! When I get from the trip this year - i'm going to start collecting everything Disney kitchen ware...I have Mickey and Minnie salt and pepper shakers I bought on ebay from the 70's...but I want plates, cups, saucers, etc etc...now that I think would be a very cool thing to get a full set of! - the mugs I collect just for me just for my coffee :-)
Well that's ok - I'll get one anyways! LOL No prob - just another good ole' book to add to the collection :) And you can be a fanatic without collecting....we actually started small. Pressed pennies and the pressed penny book...then up to the pins...and now I'm crazy LOL
You are way too funny. Yeah I LOVE my books when they are Disney books of any size, shape and type. Can't get enough of them. Don't ever feel like a weirdo. We are mild compared to some of the gang on here LOL There was a thread one day on what do you collect - well I collect a bit of everything and easily have about 40 pieces ranging from plates, cups, old comics, stamps, bobbleheads, pez, you name it so I thought I was doing pretty good! UH NOPE!!!!!! LMAO - some peeps on here had photos with racks of disney collectible stuff...all it did was make me want to spend more money to keep up with the jones'es LOL

OH I think I'll look around for a Passporter....Can probably get a 2010 one real cheap before my trip cause let's face it, by then, 2010 is almost over HA HA!!!

And ditto on what you said about the site and friends!
I know some insiders here say that there's concepts for MGM that pop-up every once in a while. Personally I'd say it's unlikely that they would build it, but I wouldn't say that they would never build it. But there's always hope!

I agree. Some people were just born funny. Did you know Conan O'Brien graduated Valdectorian of his high school and graduated Harvard with magna ______ laude? That's incredible...I would've thought anyone who went through that much schooling wouldn't have any humor left. LOL

Congrats on your purchase (especially with the discount!). Is it more like Birnbaum's or Unofficial Guide?
Indy has the same layout as Dinosaur, but that's where the similarities end. I'd say it's in the Top 3 of the greatest attractions ever designed. The whole place is so intricately themed, you forget where you are. I want to visit all of the parks, too. Unfortunately it doesn't look like very good odds, though DisneySea is my dream park.

I saw the trailer for that show and thought it looked hilarious, but the critics didn't like it, or so I hear. I can't wait!
Never too much bookwise! Each one seems to offer it's own little special kick...I have the Complete Guide, the Unofficial Guide, the Hidden Mickeys Guide (lol), the Hidden Secrets Guide...OMG stop me now! LMAO!!!! I read each one and each one has something the other doesn't...although much of the stuff is the same. I haven't gotten a Passporter though....What's the story with that one and where do I get it! LOL

Would LOVE to do the Halloween party but we aren't there Halloween! LOL
If you don't go in with the mindset Disneyland and Disney World are totally different, you won't find yourself enjoying it as much as you should. They're both great parks. We're going back in 2012 when the construction at California Adventure is done. Overall, we loved Disneyland. The Indiana Jones Adventure is alone worth a good amount of the admission to the park. The parks are well-maintained, effects are working, and in those respects is better than WDW. I'd say that the atmosphere and theming is better at WDW, though. I can't explain why. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up visiting Disneyland every weekend (like a lot of visitors are).
His name is Eduard Khil, here's the Wikipedia page since it does a better job of explaining it than I do LOL. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eduard_Khil Just scroll down to "Meme".

That sounds very scary! Thank God you guys came out all right.

Disneyland vs. Disney World...that's a toughie. I don't like comparing them since they are so different. The one thing that separates both is that WDW is in its own little world in Central Florida whilst Disneyland is in the heart of Southern California. It makes for a completely different experience. I wouldn't say it detracts from it since they do a great job of blocking out the outside world, but having grown up with WDW, I prefer that. The rides are very different; even rides like Splash Mountain and Big Thunder have a totally different feel. I've found that the rides are generally of better quality than those at WDW, but they're just plain different on so many levels.
Regarding my avatar...it's from a video on YouTube that was made popular by the marvelous Internet. It now circulates the web as an "inside joke" of sorts...You can watch it here. It's a song by a Russian opera singer, and is the equivalent to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up", but in Russian. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z4m4lnjxkY

How do you like The Complete Guide to WDW? I've heard of it before and I think someone from inside the fan community does it.

Tornadoes are always things I see on the Weather Channel but I've never seen one personally. On TV they don't seem that bad, but talking to survivors it sounds absolutely terrifying. I couldn't imagine the horror of having to go into the basement and there's nothing to do but pray it doesn't hit.

I have family that lives in south Jersey, but I didn't grow up there. I'm in Monmouth/Ocean County and lived in Marlboro when I was growing up.
ha ha ha! You are too funny. I hear ya..those Disney desserts are to die for! We had some great ones at Ohana's and Boma's...those zebra domes are to die for and they don't just do desserts a little bit...they go ALL the way with those babies! LOL I've wanted to try the dessert party out at the Terrace Noodle Station at MK but just haven't had a chance to do it yet...have you seen the spread they put out? HOLY COW I'm in sugar heaven! LMAO!
Hey missy...chocolate IS a girl's best friend you know! LOL NOOO I don't really eat the desserts. I do love chocolate though...Wonka has these really cool new chocolate pieces you can get at Kroger..they are usually $3 a bag but I had a $1.50 off coupon AND they were on sale for 2 for $4 so I got a bag for 50 cents LMAO! yum! plus love those chocolate covered craisins and oh anything else CHOCOLATE! lol I just don't do dessert contest desserts ha ha!

Gift card at home depot -hmmm may just sell the damn thing to my roomies boss. he lives at HD and would probably give me $70 for the $75 gift card. He's very cheap (lol) so that $5 savings is like $100 to him!

And then again I may keep it - don't know yet LOL
:ROFLOL: Well, the more you know!

The Passporter was very handy for that. I bet it was because it's essentially a family business, so they designed it with vacationers like us in mind. How many guidebooks do you have? We have around six or seven, I believe.

We got no rain from Earl. I was out at Sandy Hook (the northernmost beach) on the hurricane day and we got a few sprinkles of rain and a tiny bit of wind, that's it. Very disappointing. (But Egg Harbor is very close to where my family lives.)
TRex isn't on the DDP? I just assumed all Disney stuff is on the DDP but obviously not!

Had our company picnic today out at Lake "All My Tuna" (you know Allatoona!) We usually rent the area off Allatoona Dam Rd the whole day. We use corporate events to do all the "stuff" once we pick our theme. Plus we have a major dessert contest. I don't go for taste as much as "presentation" so we have a 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winner PLUS crowd favorite & best presentation. Last year I took best presentation-I actually made our logo out of cake & icing - it was HUGE! This year our theme was 9/11-it was the only weekend open when we booked the place 6 mnths ago-I made a US Flag out of cake mix& icing--used blueberries for the stars & strawberries for the stripes-looked AWESOME & I won! $75 home depot gift card! So I was happy, all the peeps & their kids had a good time which makes me happy because i'm on the picnic committee & the rain held off pretty much the whole day.
LOL I thought the same way about Hotel California, too. What did you hear the meaning was? Most people are under the impression it was about devil worship...when it was really about Hollywood and showbusiness.

I had been meaning to put some Bob Seger on my iPod for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. The CD's just keep piling up!

You know, we've bought a few guides over the years. Initially we had Birnbaum's but then got the Unofficial Guide. I was initially turned off by its negativity but I found it to be good reading. I bought the Passporter Guide back in '06 and found it to be great. I didn't utilize the features but I loved the way it was set up.

Not to sound conceited, but we really don't need guidebooks when we visit anymore LOL. Same with guidemaps, I just use them for collectibles now. I've only been six times, but I know the place like the back of my hand. (Not to toot my own horn or anything.)
The word "Twilight" is legally not allowed within 30 feet of my userpage LOL. Unless, of course, you're referring to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. That is quite acceptable.

You know, I can't knock you for listening to The Partridge Family. The amount of songs I own that are under four years old is about as low as Florida's water table. I'm rocking out to the Eagles and Jimmy Buffett and refuse to go forward!
