Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

I've never seen so much straw manning and goal post moving in my life. It's like some people here took a course in bad faith arguments.

Why do people with no background in medicine feel they know more than highly trained epidemiologits? It's absurd.
Well, as shown, hospitalizations have stayed level through the case spike so now we move to the fear of possibility of long term issues

One of the largest school districts in the country

“Children may even act as a brake on infection,” Berner told a news conference, saying infections in schools had not led to an outbreak, while the spread of the virus within households was also less dynamic than previously thought.

Germany did a fantastic job at mitigation. We failed.

“Berner said the study was representative for the state of Saxony, which has a relatively low rate of infection compared with other parts of Germany.”

You criticize people here for showing links that don’t meet your views, then you post a link done in a town with a unbelievable low rate of infection and think it’s a reliable study. I want it to be but there’s a difference between Saxony, Germany which at last count had 5000 or so cases and a lot of the states. Germany has over 200,000 cases. I’m sure if you did the same study in a far out city of, I don’t know, pick a state with a town with low casescases, it might also work.
I’m not dismissing the study at all, it just would have more importance if it was done, oh I don’t know, say Miami.. Houston.. insert favorite hot spot here.

That is the point

Also wonder if positivity numbers for the state of Florida might be affected by some labs not reporting negative tests. might skew things a bit.

“I looked at it and it [PanCare] showed 280 positives and zero negatives, and that just came up really fishy because I knew a lot of people who had gone to PanCare and tested negative,” said Ward.

Who knows how many times this happened?

That said, can we trust ANY NUMBERS????

Do we assume the positive count is correct simply because it’s the positive count?

If it is anything, it means positivity probably lower, don't think it is malicious just shows you have to look at the whole picture.

I'm at the point where I no longer care to dispute whether it's not a big deal (a common cold!) or something super deadly.

The fact is, everyone wants to return to normal. That is not in dispute. The quickest way we can do that is to get the numbers down so that businesses, stores, etc. have the confidence to reopen. Until those numbers become manageable, we're simply prolonging the agony and recovery. I wish we'd all suffer through these masks, social distancing, etc. for a few months and hopefully put this to rest (or as close to that as possible) so we can all go on with our lives and do the things that bring each of us enjoyment.

Did they just re closed Honk Kong Disneyland because of covid? Saw it somewhere on my newsfeed today but don’t know if it’s official yet. Probably would happen in Florida but who knows.
