And I remember some of V, I thought it was pretty scary but than Twin Peaks also freaked me out.
Sometimes I’m so jealous of you home school moms! You can cover so many great topics.
All this talk about age appropriate movies etc. reminded me that when I was young my mom wouldn't allow me to watch the A-team on tv as she had read it was too violent for youngsters. We still joke about this in our family.
Our county fair is the second week we are back to school, but no other schools are in yet. That means all our 4-H kids who have livestock and horses to show at the fair during the day are missing school. Luckily that counts as an excused absence.When I was in grade school through high school, we always started the day after Labor Day. There was a country fair that went through that Labor Day weekend, and my mother always took us to it on Labor Day. It was our last day of freedom each year before going back to classes, the next morning.
(My brothers would giggle when they published the movie ratings, and would seek out the (coveted 
) "C" categories, and try to sneak into movies with that rating!) 
Unless you're applying for a character part in a movie, for example, why would they want a picture of you?
I just remember movies being G, PG, and R. Then in the 80's I think they came out with PG-13.I recall the Legion of Decency too!

Thanks. Never heard of that. I will check it out. My 2 youngest dd’s favorite movie right now is Summer Rental. Think it was from ‘84 or ‘85. There are a few bad words and some innuendos but it is all pretty harmless. It is on the blu ray player in my car right now.
That was same for me before the Public school system changed it when I was going to attend 8th grade. They started the final week of August after for rest of the school years my younger brother and I attended.
