All this talk about age appropriate movies etc. reminded me that when I was young my mom wouldn't allow me to watch the A-team on tv as she had read it was too violent for youngsters. We still joke about this in our family.:joyfull:

Ha! My mom still talks about a time when I was 12 and at a sleepover.. I called her to ask if I could watch Desperately Seeking Susan on HBO with the rest of the girls.

She was so proud of me. Ha ha.

It is all in the perspective. We build in 5 snow days. If we do not use any We release 5 days early. If we use one, four days early. We have to decide by March school board meeting which is mid month. But it is easier to tell students and families they are being released early vs now you have to go x amount days longer.

In 2011 we used more than the allotted amount. Everyone got lucky because they actually released early with the blessings from the State. Major necessary construction project for over the summer. So that year snow days and early release bonus.

How you doing with the rain? There are ponds everywhere here. One car this evening decided to ignore the theory of not to drive too fast for driving conditions, lost control and at the crossing landed sideways on rail track just past the crossing. They actually got that car off somehow and away it drove about an hour later.

The little bit of grass showing here, if you step on it liquid mud just oozes out.
Sounds a lot like here. I was surprised my road isn't under water, and neither were any that I pass on my way to take DD to school. The ducks and geese are enjoying the new lake across the street. And the sewers are pretty full of water, right now. Kind of worried about using water in the house that isn't necessary. Looks like we aren't done with it yet, though. I wish I could fast forward to about 3 AM when it should finally finish in an icy glory. (Heavy sigh)

And drivers, really. Not too difficult to slow down. Probably would have gotten wherever faster and safer.

Me too before I saw my friends comment about the poop pretzel stick.

How is the rain by you. It is pouring and why I am awake. So guarded. The water is rising quickly now unlike the daylight hours. Ponding fast.
I have been up since 4 AM. It is like torture just hearing it come down, and knowing there isn't a thing you can do about it, but watch, hope and wait.

Zac Effron doesn't hold a candle to Hugh Jackman when it comes to dancing, singing and looks and that is abundantly clear in this film. I will say that Zac is decent looking and he can act.
As for younger kids watching this movie, I think there is nothing inappropriate in it, there is very mild violence and it deals with discrimination based on appearance but, like posted before, that could be used as a good teaching moment.
You are obviously not a 14 year old girl. :joyfull: ( I could really use that little green grinning guy, now).

Being raised Catholic I wasn't allowed to ever go to a James Bond 007 movie, yet I saw them all. Must have been a miracle. So not only did I go to a banned movie, but, I lied about not going to it. There is obviously a place for me in hell. Fortunately, I like warm weather.
Best thing about being an Atheist is not having to worry about any of that.:joyfull:

Thanks! Guardians is not on our list due to content.. but the friends recommended to watch the original Avengers and Iron Man before seeing Black Panther. Maybe we’ll tackle one this coming weekend.
Guardians definitively is more for adult teens and higher than kids. Because it has a lot of sexual inuendos and double valued words (in the dirty way)

For adults, its hilarious.. for kids.. well.. Then remember even old series like Bugs bunny used to have some of that kind of content a lot.
Animaniacs too.

How's your plague infested home doing?
Still plague infested. My poor mother is on antiobiotics now. She was taking care of me while being sick herself. And yes, I normally take care of myself when sick, but my parents confined me to my room for a few days, so she was having to do everything, including bringing me food. My brother has the cold and basically doesn't leave his room when he's home. Even my dad is sick. The man is never sick.

I'm back at the doctor for a follow up. My cough has been keeping my up at night even with prescription meds, and that's not good. The only way I've gotten to sleep is having Belle against my chest. Why that works is beyond me, but I get to coughing and she just crawls on top, and it calms down the cough enough so I can sleep.

When I was in grade school, we didn't get out until the last week of June.
That was how it is in NY when I grew up. We would go back after Labor Day. There were so many built in religious holidays that they could never get out sooner. Never had snow days either. Just would always end the last week of June. The kids in private school always were out weeks sooner. It was not fun having to do homework while you heard other kids playing.
