I like that he has been given a second chance. Second chances are what our country is about. He paid his debt to society and has paid an even bigger price by the hit his reputation has taken.

I don't agree with what he did, but he wasn't the first and certainly won't be the last, but since his conviction, the arrest rate has gone up for this activity which is a positive benefit. You also have to look at the culture he grew up in. It's no excuse, but the environment we are born and raised in effects who we become. Hopefully, he can work to prevent future generations from furthuring the dispicable practices of dog fighting, ________ fighting, etc.

I wish him well, and I hope he appreciates his second chance.

I teach at a high school that has those kinds of "environments" all around. The sad thing is that he has a ton of kids looking up to him that are from those environments.

 I doubt he's doing that because he feel's "bad".

How do you know? Honestly? Do you know Michael Vick? Have you talked to him?

He was raised in a place where this was glorified. As far as he knew, it was perfectly fine. Maybe he realized it was wrong and was rehabilitated. You don't know.

Give the guy a freaking break.

I just do not get that...

Unless he is a stupid man then he knew it was wrong...and still did it...

Some of us do not feel like he deserves a break and some do..

I just can not believe the whole...."it is how he was raised thing" or "he grew up in that enviroment"

I think he thought that he could get away with it because of who he was...my opinion once again but that is how I feel.

He KNEW it was wrong..there is no way he could have not...

The guy went to jail, lost all his money, etc.

He served his time, give him a second chance. There are MURDERS, who kill, you know PEOPLE, who don't serve a day in jail because of the "insanity" plea.

He messed up, got caught, served his time.
Doubt it. The man is still playing, and earning money. He WAS a star.
True.

However, football is a business.

This is NOT a good PR move for the NFL. He should be an embarrassment to the NFL the same way Pete Rose was an embarrassment to the MLB.

Rose made a mockery of the MLB's values. Vick made a mockery of pro sports.
Winnar.

I don't get how a Human Being's cognizant awareness to believing that harming things for sport is the right thing. Unless that person is sick.

If you were raised in an area where everyone did this, cops looke dthe other way while it was going on, and your parents never told you it was wrong, you wouldn't think it was wrong.

Bull fighting is still on of the most popular sports in Spain, and they kill the bull after every fight. If it's the culture your raised in, you're going to think it's okay.

Doubt it. The man is still playing, and earning money. He WAS a star.

And he was bankrupt when he came out of jail. He lost the most lucrative contract of all time.

;) But that doesn't make it okay. I refuse to give him a second chance. I am a big animal lover and would love to see him get what he deserves.

They should know better. How old is he?

:brick:

He should know better? Why? He was never taught this was wrong growing up. Have you ever studied psychology at all? I guess Spanish people are all raving lunatics because they kill bulls during bull fighting, right?

As a grown man though there is no way he could not have known it was wrong...Maybe when he was younger growing up he thought it was okay...but as an adult..in his profession..he knew...that is a total excuse...and a pretty bad one also.

I think he got off pretty easy compared to what he did..and because of who he is...

He is a piece of trash in my opinion and should not be allowed to play football professionally ever again.

No but apparently you justify them doing just because they don't "know better". :brick::dazzle:

And did I ever say that. You are putting words into my mouth that were not there in the first place.

And how do YOU know where he grow up? Are you his cousin?

Sorry, but again I don't agree. He saw this going on in a structed, almost legal way when he grew up, and throughout his entire life.

And in his profession? After it happened a TON of NFL players were mentioned as being involved with it, and he basically took the fall for all of them. SO obviously the culture followed him throughout his entire life, and in no way made it seem wrong.

So, if I was raised with a mother who abused her kids..and then abused my children once I got older..that can be excused because it was how I was raised?

I am sorry..I am not trying to argue with you but I do not buy that at all.

I just don't...

 So I guess the same can be said about OJ and all of the other serial killers. It just followed them through life and that justified it for them. (obviously not their culture but their way of thinking.)
