Your take on Michael Vick playing again...

True. I'm in the same (almost!) position as you, but I don't think it's enough. He should be allowed to have SOME opportunity to make a new name for himself (like I said...use him for good), but they are making it WAY too easy.

I'm pretty sure the probation agreement includes community service, and I'm also pretty sure the NFL will STRONGLY encourage him to go "above and beyond."

The NFL is pretty strict these days with players who do bad things. The kicker for the Saints has been suspended 4 weeks for taking aderall for crying out loud:fork::lol:

I disagree....
It all comes down to how he should play the game?

So, correct me if I am wrong..but as long as he plays good then he should be cheered for?

Well guys..he killed some dogs..but he got us in the Super Bowl..woo hoo!

Sorry..but he disgusts me..

I'm not saying that if he can play the game all is forgiven and he's a wonderful person. I'm saying that he's already been punished for what he did and has earned the right to move on from that. What he did disgusts me, too. But I don't know the man now. Maybe he's not that same guy. Hopefully he's not.

Anyway...we can disagree.

Didnt really read anything in this thread... just coming in to give my 2 cents.

The man served his time and paid his debt to society. Let him go back to his job/career.

He will always be the same guy..remember..he was raised in that culture and apparently once you are raised a certain way that is how you are..:lookaroun

Yes..we can disagree...

Yep. :D

They have to do more than STRONGLY encourage, though.:lookaroun

Props to Philly for giving him a second chance. I have a new respect for that franchise.

It's up to him now. He has to prove the respect is earned.

And with that I'm out of here.
I'll let you guys fight this out.

It does..and mine is right!:D:lol:

I personally think he should have been locked in a room with tons of pit bulls and let them have their way with him...

Wow... bit harsh. Have you ever been attacked/mauled by a dog, Dana? :( I have... and I still have the multiple scars on my face, ears, and hands to prove it.. from when I was attacked when I was a little boy. :( Even though he is Michael Vick... I wouldn't even wanna subject him to such a horrific act. :(

:lookaroun It's mentalities like this that....Well, never mind.:lookaroun:lol:
:D

I do not always think I am right..just joking when I said that..:)in this case I do..though my opinion..and I know everyone has their own..I just do not think that he deserves a second chance..

No..I have not..and I am sorry that you have been through that Jer..really I am......and that is harsh...I know...I just think he got basically a slap on the hand for killing innocent animals and deserves way more then he got..

I just do not think justice was served in any way at all...once again..MY opinion!

I am done here also..

Totally disagree

The whole "look at the culture he was raised in" annoys me...he knows right from wrong..he knew what he was doing was wrong but because of the culture he was raised in we should give him the benefit of the doubt?

No..that in my opinion is a p i s s poor excuse..

I seriously doubt that he will do anything to prevent others from doing what he did..he is disgusting and should never be allowed to play football again..

What he did is unforgivable...something is cruel and wrong with him and I do not think he learned anything from this except for the fact that he can basically get away with murder..he barely paid the price for what he did..

No..let him be a bag boy..let him see that when you do something as wrong as what he did that you can not have the life you once led again..that you messed it up and that is what you have to live with..

His punishment was nothing compared to what he did to say he paid his debts to society....seriously..ok kids...you can kill innocent animals..you may get caught..spend some time in jail..but after that you can go back to doing whatever you choose....ugh!

Sorry..IMO he needs to rot in hell...

I totally agree! And the way I see it, by paying him the big bucks to return to his career, some far more deserving player(s) has been denied the opportunity.
JMHO (and Dana's of course)

They should have let Pete Rose return to baseball before they let Michael Vick return to football.

Hah! :D Good point.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I hate sports! It's all politics and people get too worked up over it.

I'll save those emotions for Disney....and REAL politics!:lookaroun

Let me change my opinion. I think he deserves the death sentence.

(SAW style)

The guy went to jail, lost all his money, etc.

He served his time, give him a second chance. There are MURDERS, who kill, you know PEOPLE, who don't serve a day in jail because of the "insanity" plea.

He messed up, got caught, served his time.

True.

However, football is a business.

This is NOT a good PR move for the NFL. He should be an embarrassment to the NFL the same way Pete Rose was an embarrassment to the MLB.

Rose made a mockery of the MLB's values. Vick made a mockery of pro sports.
