well, to each his own. I too am from the South and I find it funny, even secure enough in my heritage that I can laugh at it, given a good context.

This is all in good fun and should be taken as such. Nothing here offends me.

I agree, Scott.

I'm half Polish. And a natural (dishwater) blonde. Need I say more? :lookaroun

There is a big difference between being from the South and being a "redneck". Anybody who doesn't see the difference is a complete moron

And so being a redneck has nothing to do with General Lee or the Confederate flag, so then the jokes involving them dont need to be made if this thread really is about rednecks. And I guess anyone who can't see that is also a complete moron.

Not at all accurate. General Lee and the Confederate Flag are used out of context by numerous rednecks.

I should have known somebody wouldn't allow this thread to continue.

Forget what he says. He's 17 years old and sounds like one of these I'm from the South so I'm going to act like I'm a redneck and get defensive if people talk bad about "my people". I think its pretty funny when people try to believe they are really Southern and have southern pride just because they live in the South. Ignore him for the time being.

When you're at UoE and the topic of Natural Gas is brought up, you immediately think of your Uncle Earl on Tex/Mex night.

You thought the fire effects from the dragon at Fantasmic were tame... they should come by when you barbecue if they want to see real flames!

Amen to that. Most of my dad's family is what I would consider rednecks - all of us are Hoosiers. Heck, I've got some in me - it comes out when it needs to. I'm a countryboy living in the suburbs. They're all NASCAR fans, and campers - in fact, they camp at Wilderness Campgrounds every time they go down there...AND do the Richard Petty experience! Yup, rednecks, and proud of it. HOWEVER, we all still live under ONE flag, with 13 stripes and 50 stars.....

But remember, "The Dukes of Hazzard" characters could totally be considered rednecks and Bo and Luke's car is called the "General Lee" and has a Confederate flag on the roof... ;)

(Rednecks are everywhere. In New York, Hollywood, and Miami)
Not to mention Boston, Hartford, Manchester, Portland, etc.... and why stop with the USA? My sister in law confirmed that there are rednecks in Russia!
