My wife would be uncontrollable. She LOVES that show!I don't want to see Wishes go away. I love that firework show, and would be very disappointed to see it taken away.

I've heard rumors that a new project is being developed with the idea of replacing Wishes.. did u know that?

That always worries me. When there is a lot more to it than pyro, it gives a great reason to reduce the pyro, and then we end up with projections. They may be on water, castle walls, or who knows what, but they are still projections and don't have the impact of fireworks - at least for me.You heard right. It is a Steve Davison joint and will likely debut in late 2015 or early 2016 and be a whole lot more than just pyro.
Ugh, and create more and more congestion in the Hub, if it's projections and the like. Yet more reason for them to remove trees. Boo to that. Need more, and higher, air launch, pyro. Less projection. That always worries me. When there is a lot more to it than pyro, it gives a great reason to reduce the pyro, and then we end up with projections. And to you! Hope you had a good festive season!Happy 2014 @wdwmagic !!!
I wouldn't worry too much. MK has always been known for pyro and I don't see them greatly reducing it, although it is way too soon in the process to know for sure.
That said, I'd swap Wishes for DLP's Dreams anytime ...great Disney music with amazing projections, pyro, fountains and lasers beats moppets singing for me.
I also greatly enjoyed their Dreams of Christmas version, although their own locals apparently like the original much more according to a source I spoke with at the resort.
It's taking almost everything I have to keep from making jokes about a fireworks show based around new bathrooms, fancy meet-and-greets and shuttered attractions.

Both done extremely well and in balance would say world class theme parkFireworks are to projections what animatronics are to 3-D screens. Not saying you can't have the latter in small doses, but the former are what says "THIS is a world-class theme park."
I also love Wishes but it is time to move on. The fireworks at DL are much lower level and smaller than the fireworks at MK, and of course the fireworks in the round they do for special occasions aren't even attempted. Of course DL has a couple of huge disadvantages, the clear air board Nazis hate fireworks in general and the people who move to Anaheim to be close to Disney then complain about the noise on nights they don't feel like fireworks.
Buy her the CD and come to the bedroom with a pair of sparklers in each hand wearing Mickey boxers ... that should do the trick. If not, you could always swap her out for a new model.
WDW needs WOC type fountains in some way! Either the Wishes replacement or Illuminations. Even Universal has somewhat attempted it!
Seems like the proposed nighttime show at DAK is the most likely option for something in this vein.
Me too. There's concern amongst some in the MK about the additional fallout area of NFL and ash and debris littering the mermaid queue area and other pretty areas. That always worries me..
