Componet to HDMI converter's are available but are very expensive.
Here's one that I ran across that is $200.

For about the same price as one of those coverters you could purchase a home audio receiver that converts componet video to HDMI.

Here's a nice Onkyo receiver that converts analog to digital for $225.

Unfortunately,either way is very expensive
At that price I think I will just stick to the component cables. Any ETA on the next gen Wii WDWFREAK53 mentioned?

This is all rumors and speculation at this point. Some people are saying it'll be a next-gen...others are saying that it will just be a Hard-Drive add-on.

Nothing has been officially announced...but most think it will be announced in July at E3.

Are the connections on the back of the Wii component cable ports? If so I think this might achieve the results I am looking for.

It's a port specifically for the Wii only. You can only use Wii cables with the Wii...it's not a universal connection.

The standard (red/white/yellow) component cables come with the Wii...that is the HD-Link cable.

Its a big wonder to me why they didnt give the wii any real HD support. I would guess you wont see a new wii SKU just because the PS3 and xbox 360 are going down in price. I think they will do an external hard drive like WDWFREAK53 said.

Roddy, I have your number in my address book but it won't seem to configure it.
Bryan, yours is in and I've sent you a message.

Well, I checked my Wii number, and it's correct. So I really have no idea why your Wii doesn't like mine, Bri.

Oh, I know that the number is correct because it accepted it. I just don't know why it hasn't configured it yet. I'll go home tonight and check again...but I put your number in the other day!

EDIT: Have you registered my number? If not, that would be the reason.

Well, it's in. Let's see what happens now.

This system is kinda weird... I mean, you'd figure I was supposed to get a message or something to let me know someone was adding me, right? That'd make more sense.

After it's in...for a brief time, my name will be gray'd out...and after it's configured, you'll be able to highlight my name and Send a Message, etc.

Yeah. I have, like 2 people in my address book. Nintendo doesn't have an official representation down here, so all Wii are imports. It's going around through merits of word of mouth alone.

I got Brian's message last night and your reply today, so everything seems to be working great.
